I will build on Gov Abdulrazaq’s legacies – Kwara APC guber flag bearer, Yakubu Danladi
Kwara State All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship flag bearer, Engineer Salihu Yakubu Danladi, on Friday pledged to build on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s legacies to move the state forward if voted into power.
He described his victory at the governorship primary election as a success for all other aspirants and members of the party in the state.
“We need to thank God Almighty for where we are. In APC, we are all one. There is no winner, there is no loser. We are all winners. I need to thank Kwarans for standing by Kwara North,” the Speaker of the State House of Assembly said while speaking with journalists shortly after he was declared winner of the primary election.
Yakubu thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting his emergence as the candidate of the party.
“I would thank Mr President. He is truly the Jagaban of Borgu. This is the first time since 1999 that the Borgu Kingdom will have a governorship candidate from a ruling party. Sincerely, we thank His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the father of the nation, for looking at where he got the Jagaban of Borgu and taking it to that side.
“We also need to thank Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. He’s a man of his words. He’s a leader. He’s a transformer. And he has done very well across different sectors,” the Speaker said.
“We are part and parcel of this administration. As Speaker for almost seven years today, I’m practically part of all the policies of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. All I need to say is legacy continues, and our state will be better for it,” he added.

2027: Ex-commissioner, Tancy Al-Makura quits APC amid fallout from guber primaries
A former Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development in Nasarawa State, Hon. Mohammed Tanimu Sarki, popularly known as Tancy Al-Makura, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect.
The former commissioner announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the APC Chairman of Gayam Ward in Lafia Local Government Area and dated May 26, 2026.
In the letter, Tancy Al-Makura said his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, stakeholders, supporters, and loyalists across the state.
Although he did not openly attack the party leadership, political observers linked his resignation to the growing discontent trailing the APC’s recently concluded governorship primaries, which have continued to generate controversy and defections within the party.
The former commissioner expressed gratitude to the APC leadership and members for the support, cooperation, and opportunities extended to him during his time in the party.
He noted that serving under the platform of the APC provided him the opportunity to contribute to the development of Nasarawa State and build lasting political relationships.
His resignation comes amid increasing political tension within the ruling party following allegations of irregularities and manipulation during the governorship primaries that produced Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the party’s candidate.
The development also comes barely hours after former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, resigned from the APC over what he described as irregularities and lack of transparency in the governorship primary election.

2027: We’ll resist personal ambitions – NDC
The Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, says it will resist personal ambitions, strengthen internal democracy and prioritise national service before 2027 elections.
National leader of the party, Seriake Dickson, who stated this on Tuesday in Abuja.
He declared that the NDC would not be turned into a special-purpose vehicle for the presidential ambition of any individual politician.
He was reacting following growing political calculations surrounding Peter Obi and the expected role of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso within the party ahead of 2027.
The former Bayelsa State Governor emphasized that the party was being built as a lasting political institution driven by ideology, reforms and national interest rather than personal ambition.
“We are not building a special-purpose vehicle for any individual. We are building together a political party that will stand the test of time. We will resist any personal ambition,” Dickson declared.
