Dana White’s Original Plan For White House Main Event
UFC CEO Dana White has revealed the fight he really wanted to main event UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.
The event will take place outdoors on the South Lawn of the Washington DC property and it has been put together to celebrate both the 250th anniversary of the USA, as well as the 80th birthday of President Donald Trump.
The seven-fight card will feature two title bouts, with some major names in action.
UFC Freedom 250 Card Explored
In the evening’s main event, Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje will clash for the undisputed UFC Lightweight Championship, while the interim UFC Heavyweight Championship is on the line in the co-main event.
Topuria vs Gaethje is one of the biggest fights in the UFC today, while the interim heavyweight title bout will see Brazilian Alex Pereira looking to make history.
‘Poatan’ has already held UFC gold at middleweight and light heavyweight. If he can successfully defeat Ciryl Gane in their interim title tilt, though, he will become the only fighter in company history to win championship belts in three separate weight classes.
However, for as significant as the two top fights on the card are, Dana had originally planned a different main event for the show.
Dana White’s Original Plan For UFC Freedom 250 Main Event
Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of the White House extravaganza, the veteran matchmaker admitted that his initial plan was for full UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall to defend his gold against Pereira.
The Brit hasn’t fought since being poked in the eye by Gane during their title fight at UFC 321 last October, with doctors still yet to clear him to return.
White revealed:
“100%. That would have been the fight if he (Aspinall) was healthy.
“Right now, a lot of our champions are hurt right now. So it’s kind of funky, there’s a lot of things you have to deal with when you’re making these matches, with timing and everything else going in everyone’s life, injuries. But yeah, it would have been Tom!”
Aspinall vs Pereira isn’t the only fight that the UFC were unable to book for the White House card, with Dana previously admitting that another planned title fight had “slipped away” from the company for the card.
Despite the event not being quite as stacked as the boss may have first envisioned, it is still sure to be one of the most significant nights in the 33-year history of the UFC.

Iran Says US Have Revoked Their World Cup Ticket Allocation as Statement Released
A World Cup nation has said that the United States have revoked their ticket allocation just days before the tournament starts.
The 2026 World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, will kick-off on Thursday, June 11 when El Tri take on South Africa in Mexico City.
Hundreds of thousands of football fans have travelled or are travelling to North America to watch this summer’s tournament.
However, many supporters have found it difficult to get into the United States. Many Scotland fans have been denied entry into the US following late ESTA status changes.
Dozens of Moroccan fans have also been denied US visas for the World Cup, despite spending thousands on travel, match tickets and accommodation.
There have now been further complications in regard to Iranian fans watching their side in North America.
Iran Release Statement as Tickets Cancelled
Iran’s participation in the competition has been in doubt amid their conflict with the United States.
However, despite suggestions they would withdraw, Iran’s players have been granted US visas and landed in Mexico on Sunday. Many of their staff, though, did not travel with them after being denied entry into the country.
Iran are due to play all three of their group stage matches in the United States. They will face New Zealand on June 15, Belgium on June 21 and Egypt on June 26.
Iran’s football federation (FFIRI) has now claimed that its ticket allocation has been pulled just days before the World Cup starts, leaving supporters who had already made travel plans unable to attend their team’s matches.
In a statement, the Iranian federation said they could no longer provide tickets to fans despite having already begun the sales process. It read, per the Daily Star:
“Accordingly, and after receiving the relevant quota, the Football Federation of the Islamic Republic of Iran began the process of selling tickets for the national team’s matches against New Zealand, Belgium, and Egypt through its official website.
“However, in an unexpected move, the quota allocated to the Iranian Football Federation has been withdrawn from this complex.
“Under the current circumstances, it is not possible to provide even a single ticket to the fans of the national team through the federation. This is despite the fact that many Iranian football enthusiasts had made the necessary plans to attend the tournament venue, trusting in the officially announced process.”

Iran Send Message to FIFA and Tournament Organisers
Iran has also called on FIFA and the tournament organisers to not allow issues outside of football to overshadow the tournament.
Their statement continued: “Depriving Iranian fans of access to the legal and official quota of allocated tickets is contrary to the spirit of international competitions and the principle of equality between participating countries.
“This incident raises serious questions about the interference of non-sporting and political considerations in the process of organising the world’s biggest football event.
“Iranian football fans have always been one of the most important spiritual assets of the national team in all international competitions, observing the rules and respecting professional principles, and it is expected that their legal rights will be respected, just like fans of other countries.
“Therefore, while expressing dissatisfaction with this process, FIFA and the tournament organizers are expected to adhere to the principles of impartiality, justice, and approved regulations, and to provide the necessary conditions for Iranian fans to enjoy their legal rights and not allow issues outside the football field to overshadow the world’s largest football tournament.”

Mr Kennedy Accuses John Cena and Randy Orton of Getting Him Fired
WWE has always had its characters and its controversies ever since it was founded in 1953.
The promotion has been heavily scrutinised for its dramatised, scripted fights, where its winners are pre-determined, so much so that they must market the matches as ‘sports entertainment’, combining theatre and competitive sport.
This was most visibly seen during one of the most infamous moments in WWE history, known as the ‘Montreal Screwjob‘, where the outcome of the match was changed without informing one of the wrestlers, Bret Hart, causing him to lose the championship to Shawn Michaels.
Hart had a contentious relationship with the WWE owner, Vince McMahon, who was in charge of the storylines, and thus, he took the incident as a personal insult as he had a notable feud with Michaels and didn’t want to lose the championship to him.
This took place in 1997, though, but that doesn’t mean that controversies don’t occur anymore.
Randy Orton & John Cena Blamed For Getting Superstar Sacked
All wrestling fans have heard of Randy Orton and John Cena. They are both regarded among the greatest wrestlers of all time, with the latter winning a record 17 championships and the former tied for the third-most world championship reigns in history with 14.
But in 2009, a fellow wrestler became disgruntled with the two icons, who he’d felt had played a major role in his release from the company.
The 2 Superstars WWE Are Considering to Face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 43
WWE have huge plans for Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.
While the wrestling matches are planned, the specific moves that are performed can still result in serious injury or death if they’re not performed correctly.
Ken Anderson, known by his ring name Mr Kennedy, was accused of dangerously dropping Orton on his head, with The Viper feeling that his health had been risked by an awkward belly-to-back suplex.
Anderson claimed: “I got fired for dumping Randy [Orton] on his head. If you slow that video down, you can see that his head never comes into contact with the mat.”
But Anderson went further than absolving himself of guilt, claiming that Orton and Cena joined forces to get him fired from WWE.
He said: “I believe that Randy [Orton] and John [Cena] worked together. They decided that day ‘Let’s f****** get him gone’. And it worked.”
While the former WWE United States champion believes this formed part of his dismissal, he did accept that some of the responsibility lay at his own feet due to his own errors and negative public opinion.
He said: “I’ve said this before, that was the straw that broke the camel’s back. But the reason I got fired is because of me.”
However, he does believe that Cena had ‘never liked him’ and believed their relationship had been strained since the early days of his WWE run.
“I felt like John had it out for me from almost day one.”
Ultimately, we may never know all the reasons behind Anderson’s WWE departure and how much influence Orton and Cena had on this, with there always being two sides to every story. The moment still forms an infamous chapter in wrestling folklore, regardless of how it unfolded behind closed doors, and Anderson has certainly earned his place in the history books one way or another.

Tottenham Move to Sign Crysencio Summerville is ‘Off’
Tottenham Hotspur have been incredibly active in the transfer market already this summer, with Roberto De Zerbi looking to make a major statement.
Spurs narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League thanks to a 1-0 win over Everton on the final day of the season, and the Italian has now moved to strengthen the squad to ensure that is a situation they’re not in again next season.
Andy Robertson has already been announced as the first signing of the new era, while Marcos Senesi is due to be announced imminently to strengthen the defence. Jan Paul van Hecke has also emerged as a target, with personal terms agreed despite two bids being rejected, and Man City star Savinho is advancing on a move, but another deal is now considered to be ‘off’.
Tottenham Move for Summerville ‘Off’
According to Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof, Tottenham’s move for West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville is now ‘off’.
The north London club are keen to bolster their forward options with Randal Kolo Muani’s loan expiring, Richarlison expected to be sold, and Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, and Xavi Simons all dealing with long-term knee injuries.
But with Savinho’s move from Man City understood to be advancing, it’s now reported that Summerville will not be moving across London at this stage.
Spurs were understood to be leading the race for the Netherlands winger, who is set to star at the World Cup in Ronald Koeman’s side having earned a call-up despite West Ham’s relegation to the Championship.
The club were ready to make a ‘concrete offer’ for the 24-year-old winger, but they have now stepped back in their interest. A number of clubs in Italy are understood to be showing an interest in Summerville, including Champions League side AS Roma, and they are now expected to be taking the lead in the race for his signature.

Tottenham Moving Aggressively in Market
Tottenham are pushing hard in the market to strengthen the squad for De Zerbi, and it seems that they have made their mind up on who they want to pursue as a forward option.
Savinho was the top target last summer and they convinced the player to join, only for City to block the move and get him to sign a new deal. But the Brazilian now looks set to depart this year, and Spurs are ready to get it done.
That lessens the need for Summerville to come in, and it makes sense that the club are now prioritising certain deals over others, rather than keeping their fingers in all the pies just for the sake of it.
