All 20 Premier League Teams Ranked by Injuries Suffered in 2025-26 Season

Published

on

Unfortunately, for all 20 teams in the Premier League, injuries are just part and parcel of life. Clubs in England’s top flight, from title challengers Manchester City to strugglers Wolverhampton Wanderers, do all they can behind the scenes to prevent their players from picking up niggling issues – or, at least, lessen the extent of how long they are out of action for.

As is the case in any season, however, there are a number of teams that are struck more heavily than others – and that has happened once again in 2025/26.

As things stand, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have stolen a march at the top of the table; reigning champions Liverpool are struggling and there are three teams at the foot who are struggling more than others. But which teams have been hit by injuries the worst? Using data from Opta, via a detailed report from Sky Sports, we’ve taken a look at this season’s injury history of all 20 teams competing in the Premier League.

Total Number of Injuries

Let’s kick things off by judging each team in the simplest way possible: the total number of injuries all 20 sides in England’s top flight have picked up. For reference, it must be noted that a player – if they have sustained separate injuries – can count towards two injuries for their respective sides.

As expected, there are a few teams worse off in terms of how many injuries they’ve suffered between the start of the 2025/26 campaign – the middle of August – and now. Pep Guardiola‘s City, who went trophyless in 2024/25 and will be looking to bounce back, are among those who may feel hard done by when assessing their number of injuries.

The Citizens have been forced to contend for much of the early stages of the season without Rodri in the heart of their midfield; the Spaniard missed a large chunk of last term and his injury-prone nature has trickled into the new season. All in all, they’ve faced 21 separate injuries.

Daniel Farke-managed Leeds United are next up with 19, while top four hopefuls Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool – two teams that are bound to finish near the top of the table come May – have all endured their fair share of injury issues in the opening weeks of 2025/26.

With 18 injuries apiece, Arne Slot’s defending champions have needed to compete without the likes of Alisson Becker and Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have been without Levi Colwill, Cole Palmer and the like. Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, their rivals Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa have all suffered from 17 separate injuries since August.

Regis Le Bris’ high-flying Sunderland side are proving that decent recruitment can ease the jump from England’s second to first tier – and they’ve had to deal with 13 injuries, which is the same number as rivals Newcastle United. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brentford, too, have suffered 13 injuries since the start of the campaign.

Fulham‘s relatively lucky tally of 12 – consisting of Joachim Andersen, Samuel Chukwueze, Emile Smith Rowe and the like – make them among the more fortunate teams in England. Burnley, Nottingham Forest and Everton follow with 11. Bournemouth and West Ham United have suffered with ten.

On the opposite end of the spectrum from Guardiola’s men are Manchester United. Over the years, the Red Devils have found their squad ravaged by injuries; but that is no longer the case. Perhaps helped by the fact that they are not competing in Europe, Ruben Amorim and co. have had a mere eight injuries to deal with.

Days Lost From Injuries

Although it’s important to look at how many injuries each team has suffered, such a statistic doesn’t take the extent of each injury into consideration – for example, one injury could last a matter of days; others could be season-ending. So, which teams have been affected by injuries for the longest time period?

That would be Thomas Frank’s Spurs, who have lost an eye-catching total of 516 days from injury problems this term. James Maddison was stretchered off during his side’s pre-season test against Newcastle – and he has been out since the start of the campaign. Elsewhere, Dejan Kulusevski and Dominic Solanke are among the club’s long-term absentees.

Sunderland, despite their brilliant start to life at the promised land, have been without some of their top stars for a collective total of 454 days. Crystal Palace, the reigning champions of the FA Cup, are just behind with 444 before Chelsea’s tally of 440 days missed sees them in the top four.

Brighton, City and Arsenal – who have been without the talismanic Martin Odegaard for quite some time – follow with tallies of 382, 364 and 362 days missed through injury; and Liverpool then follow closely behind with 297 days missed.

Engine room patroller Youri Tielemans is among those that have been injured for Unai Emery’s Villa since the campaign got underway a couple of months ago – and, overall, the Spanish boss has needed to navigate through 276 days missed via his squad’s injury issues.

Brentford, Leeds United and Newcastle are among the teams that have been somewhat let off in terms of how many days they’ve missed through injury. The same can be said for Nottingham Forest – who have had to re-jig their backline due to Ola Aina’s long-term injury – but the Garibaldi have only missed 209 days through injury.

Bournemouth are flying under Andoni Iraola’s tenureship – and while much of that can be attributed to the Spaniard’s know-how and expertise, it’s not unfair to say that a lack of injuries has stood them in good stead. Since August, the side from the south coast have missed 200 days through injury – that is eight more than Wolves and nine more than Everton.

Once again, marking their positive change, Amorim – widely regarded as one of the best young managers in the world – and his men have lost just 165 days to injury niggles this term. That’s just two days more than West Ham, who have had to play without the likes of youngster George Earthy and defender Jean-Clair Todibo at points throughout the season. Fulham, in comparison, can count themselves lucky given they’ve lost just 147 days through injury.

Crystal Palace Eyeing Man Utd Winger Jadon Sancho

Published

Crystal Palace are exploring a move to sign one Manchester United star ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Eagles will be preparing for a window in which they’ll be looking to back a new manager.

Oliver Glasner confirmed earlier in the season that he would be leaving the club in the summer, with just one game remaining in charge of the capital club (Europa Conference League final this week) before Glasner embarks on a fresh challenge.

Although Palace have been on an excellent run in Europe, their Premier League form has left a lot to be desired.

The Eagles finished in 15th place, so they will be looking to bring in reinforcements in order to improve domestically next season.

According to a report from Sports Boom, Crystal Palace are one of the sides interested in making a move to sign Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window.

Sancho’s contract is set to expire this summer, and with no new offer on the table, it looks as though he will be heading through the exit door.

Sancho spent last season on loan at Aston Villa but struggled to cement himself as a guaranteed starter.

A host of clubs are showing an interest in securing his signature, including those from the Premier League, while Sancho would love to remain with Villa.

Remaining with United certainly feels unlikely for now, but it’s unclear where he could end up heading into the 2026-2027 season.

Wages Could be Issue for Palace

Although bringing in Sancho on a free transfer seems like a financially viable deal for Palace, his wages could be a major stumbling block.

Reports have claimed that Sancho is currently earning £250,000 a week at Manchester United, which would no doubt make him comfortably Palace’s highest earner.

Whether the England international would be willing to drop his wages remains to be seen, but he may be forced to if he’s going to find a move in the Premier League.

Sancho’s form over the last few years doesn’t warrant the current wages that he’s earning, and it could be a big issue for multiple clubs.

Tottenham Hold Talks to Beat Liverpool to Kennet Eichhorn

Tottenham have held talks to sign one player who is being actively pursued by Liverpool ahead of the summer transfer window.

Beating Liverpool to signings is certainly not going to be easy for Tottenham in the upcoming window, after they narrowly avoided being relegated from the Premier League.

The North London club are going to be without European football next season, which makes it more difficult for them to attract players, especially against sides that are in the Champions League.

Spurs are going to have to be clever with their recruitment. If they are targeting young talents from around the world, they have to offer them more of a pathway to first-team football than their rivals.

According to a report from Team Talk, Tottenham have held talks with Hertha Berlin youngster Kennet Eichhorn ahead of the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Liverpool are one of the leading contenders to sign him if he decides to make a move to England this summer, but Tottenham are waiting patiently.

According to Sky Sports earlier this week, Liverpool opened talks to sign the German youngster, who has a release clause in the region of £10m.

The 16-year-old wonderkid, described as a ‘special’ talent by scout Jacek Kulig, does plan on heading through the exit door in the summer transfer window, but it remains to be seen whether he’s keen on a move to England.

Beating Liverpool to the signing of Eichhorn certainly won’t be easy for Tottenham heading into the summer transfer window.

Interestingly, the German youngster wouldn’t be eligible to play in England just yet due to his age, meaning it would likely be a pre-agreed signing for the future.

If Eichhorn is going to make a decision now, then Liverpool is undoubtedly the more attractive prospect, considering Tottenham were almost relegated this season.

A host of other clubs are also in the race to secure his signature, so it could be a difficult deal for Tottenham to pull off due to the competition.

Michael Jordan Named the Only NBA Player As Good as Him

Published

By

To many fans who have followed the NBA, Michael Jordan is still viewed as the clear greatest basketball player ever. It’s a reputation that Air Jordan has carried ever since his dominance throughout the 1990s, even with legendary names like Kobe Bryant and LeBron James entering the conversation.

Jordan’s obsession with winning, combined with his demand for excellence, created a standard very few players have ever reached. The GOAT debate has lasted for decades, but Jordan’s championships, accolades, and individual brilliance continue to make him the benchmark for greatness.

Because of his competitive mindset and confidence, Jordan rarely appeared to believe anyone operated on his level. That mentality became part of the aura that surrounded him throughout his career.

Michael Jordan Once Acknowledged an NBA Equal

According to former Chicago Bulls teammate Craig Hodges, Jordan privately admitted there was another NBA player talented enough to be considered on par with him, though, he also believed there was one key difference separating them in the public eye.

“Not every great athlete is marketable like that, and they have just as much talent.

“I remember having a conversation one time. It was like four of us, MJ included. And the conversation came up about Clyde Drexler. And MJ said this, and I quote: ‘Clyde Drexler is just as good as me. He just don’t know how to play the game.’ Do you follow me? And we ain’t talking about basketball.”

Jordan’s comments suggest Drexler never fully embraced the business side of being an NBA superstar during the late 1980s and early 1990s. As basketball exploded in popularity across the United States, elite players became global celebrities whose faces appeared everywhere, from commercials to magazine covers.

Jordan helped pioneer that movement by partnering with Nike and transforming himself into a worldwide brand. His rise off the court only amplified the attention surrounding his performances on it.

If Drexler had leaned more into the commercial opportunities surrounding the NBA at the time, he may have enjoyed a similar level of fame to Jordan. Whether the iconic Portland Trail Blazers guard even wanted that spotlight is another discussion entirely, but by the mid-1990s, Jordan’s brand had become larger than basketball itself.

Widely regarded as one of the best shooting guards in NBA history, Drexler’s legacy will always be connected to Jordan’s. Both players dominated the backcourt during their era, but the latter’s championships and overwhelming media attention often pushed the former’s achievements into the background.

Drexler possessed a similar level of athleticism and explosiveness to Jordan, while also being an elite scorer in transition and in the half court. His smooth style of play earned him the nickname ‘Clyde the Glide’, and he was later selected for the legendary 1992 USA Olympic squad, famously known as ‘The Dream Team.’

In The Last Dance documentary, the Bulls icon discussed his rivalry with Drexler, saying in classic Jordan fashion: “Clyde was a threat. I’m not saying he wasn’t a threat. But me being compared to him, I took offence to that.”

Jordan even gave credit to players who have criticised him…

Despite becoming a 10-time All-Star, Drexler’s position as a shooting guard during Jordan’s era limited his opportunities for more All-NBA First Team selections, with only one making its way onto his resume. Still, he captured an NBA championship with the Houston Rockets and finished his career averaging more than 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game.

Considering everything he accomplished, Drexler has a strong case to be viewed as one of the most underrated stars in NBA history. Among dedicated basketball fans, however, his impact and greatness continue to receive the respect they deserve.
