The Oscars 2026 winners have officially been announced, delivering a night filled with major surprises, emotional speeches, and historic victories across multiple categories. In directing, acclaimed filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson won Best Directing for One Battle After Another, a film that also dominated the top category by winning Best Picture. The movie’s strong showing continued with awards for Adapted Screenplay and Film Editing, making it one of the biggest winners of the night.

On the technical side, Frankenstein stood out with multiple wins, including Best Costume Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, and Production Design, highlighting its striking visual craftsmanship. Meanwhile, Avatar: Fire and Ash claimed Best Visual Effects, reinforcing the franchise’s reputation for groundbreaking cinematic technology.

Music also played a major role in this year’s honors. Ludwig Göransson won Best Original Score for Sinners, while the song “Golden” from KPop Demon Hunters took home Best Original Song. The same animated film also won Best Animated Feature, signaling its strong global appeal.

In the documentary categories, Mr. Nobody Against Putin won Best Documentary Feature Film, while All the Empty Rooms earned Best Documentary Short Film. These projects reflect the growing importance of documentary storytelling in shaping public discourse and preserving real-world narratives.

International cinema was also celebrated, with Sentimental Value winning Best International Feature Film. The film’s recognition underscores the continued global expansion of filmmaking beyond Hollywood.
