Our correspondent gathered that the meeting was held on Monday in Ibadan, the state capital.

The meeting was presided over by a former Minister of Special Duties, Elder Wole Oyelese
It was also attended by five aspirants on the platform of the party among whom are four aspirants from Ona Ara local government area and one aspirant from Egbeda local government area.
It was gathered that both the leaders and the aspirants could not agree on a particular candidate.

It was learnt that Makinde warned that if they could not agree, they should bring the matter to him where the issue will be discussed on 15th April this year.
A source at the meeting told our correspondent on Tuesday that the meeting ended inconclusively because the leaders and the aspirants were unable to agree on who to pick.
The source noted that the former Minister adjourned the meeting indefinitely.
“The meeting we had yesterday with the aspirants for Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency ended in a stalemate yesterday because we could not agree.
“Five aspirants came. Four from Ona Ara local government area while one person came from Egbeda local government area. It was going smoothly but when it was clear that we could not agree, the Chairman who happens to be a former Minister adjourned the meeting indefinitely,” a source said.

2027: Ex-commissioner, Tancy Al-Makura quits APC amid fallout from guber primaries
A former Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development in Nasarawa State, Hon. Mohammed Tanimu Sarki, popularly known as Tancy Al-Makura, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect.
The former commissioner announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the APC Chairman of Gayam Ward in Lafia Local Government Area and dated May 26, 2026.
In the letter, Tancy Al-Makura said his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates, stakeholders, supporters, and loyalists across the state.
Although he did not openly attack the party leadership, political observers linked his resignation to the growing discontent trailing the APC’s recently concluded governorship primaries, which have continued to generate controversy and defections within the party.
The former commissioner expressed gratitude to the APC leadership and members for the support, cooperation, and opportunities extended to him during his time in the party.
He noted that serving under the platform of the APC provided him the opportunity to contribute to the development of Nasarawa State and build lasting political relationships.
His resignation comes amid increasing political tension within the ruling party following allegations of irregularities and manipulation during the governorship primaries that produced Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada as the party’s candidate.
The development also comes barely hours after former Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, resigned from the APC over what he described as irregularities and lack of transparency in the governorship primary election.

2027: We’ll resist personal ambitions – NDC
The Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, says it will resist personal ambitions, strengthen internal democracy and prioritise national service before 2027 elections.
National leader of the party, Seriake Dickson, who stated this on Tuesday in Abuja.
He declared that the NDC would not be turned into a special-purpose vehicle for the presidential ambition of any individual politician.
He was reacting following growing political calculations surrounding Peter Obi and the expected role of Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso within the party ahead of 2027.
The former Bayelsa State Governor emphasized that the party was being built as a lasting political institution driven by ideology, reforms and national interest rather than personal ambition.
“We are not building a special-purpose vehicle for any individual. We are building together a political party that will stand the test of time. We will resist any personal ambition,” Dickson declared.
