Celtic Eyeing Hearts Star Marc Leonard as Priority Transfer Target

Published

on

Celtic have identified Hearts midfielder Marc Leonard, who is currently on loan from Birmingham City, as their leading target for the summer transfer window, according to a report from Football Insider.

Leonard joined Hearts in the second half of the season, making 12 starts so far for the club, providing four goals and assists combined.

The 24-year-old is looking to help the Jambos win the Scottish Premiership with Celtic breathing down their necks.

With Birmingham willing to allow him to depart on loan in the summer transfer window, you’d imagine they’d be happy to allow him to leave permanently in the summer.

It looks set to be an important summer transfer window for Celtic, especially if they manage to qualify for the Champions League.

According to a report from Football Insider, Hearts midfielder Leonard, on loan from Birmingham, has emerged as a leading target for Celtic heading into the summer transfer window.

Celtic have been keeping a close eye on his performances before he even moved to Scotland, and they are looking to secure his signature when his loan spell at Hearts expires.

Signing a new midfielder is likely to be a key priority for the Glasgow giants in the summer, with Leonard now a key target.

Celtic are likely to face plenty of competition for his signature, but they are ready to enter a battle with rivals to bring him to Parkhead.

Leonard Has Two Years Remaining at Birmingham

Leonard still has two years remaining on his contract at Birmingham, but his future is far from certain, considering they allowed him to leave on loan in the January transfer window.

After an impressive spell with Hearts, there is a chance that the Midlands club would be considering keeping him and giving him an opportunity to impress during pre-season.

Whether Leonard would be keen to remain at Birmingham is unclear, especially as they were happy to let him leave.

The 24-year-old midfielder has now proved he is capable of contributing at the highest level in Scotland, and a move to Celtic would be an attractive prospect for many players.

Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott in the summer transfer window, and Samuel Luckhurst has now provided an update on their pursuit.

The Red Devils are being linked with a host of different midfielders this summer, with Scott believed to be on their list.

Reports have suggested that United have held talks over a move to sign the English midfielder, but Bournemouth are hoping to extend his contract.

Scott has become one of the best young midfielders in the Premier League since his move to the Cherries, and he’s attracting interest from a number of clubs.

United’s priority is to bring in at least one midfielder this summer, and Scott is a name on a lengthy shortlist.

Journalist Luckhurst has now provided an update on Manchester United’s move to sign Bournemouth midfielder Scott in the summer transfer window.

The reliable reporter claims that United haven’t ruled out making a bid to sign the English star, despite the Cherries valuing him at £80m.

Scott is now United’s preferred midfield target after missing out on both Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes.

Despite the £80 million valuation, United are yet to formally end their interest, and they remain in the race to secure his signature.

Luckhurst confirms that Bournemouth are looking to tie him down to a new contract, and it’s almost certain that that would include a release clause.

Understandably, United didn’t want to pay the kind of fees that Tottenham and Manchester City forked out for Fernandes and Anderson.

The Red Devils are looking to be clever with their recruitment in the summer transfer window, understandably.

They are hoping to avoid overpaying for players, but they can’t afford to continue missing out on key targets. They need to bite the bullet at some point.

Whether Scott is the player they push the button on in the summer window remains to be seen, but there is no doubt they need midfield reinforcements to arrive through the door over the coming weeks.

Liverpool Eyeing Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga Amid Mourinho Exit Plans

Liverpool are showing an interest in signing a Real Madrid star who Jose Mourinho is willing to offload this summer.

The Reds have confirmed just one new addition in the summer transfer window so far, bringing in Victor Munoz to improve their winger options.

Liverpool will likely be in the market for further additions, considering they only just scraped Champions League football last season.

The board will have to back new manager Andoni Iraola if they want him to be able to fully implement his style of play next campaign.

The Merseyside club have been linked to a host of new additions this summer, but it’s unclear what their priority position to strengthen is going to be.

Liverpool are likely to sign another winger with Mohamed Salah departing, but they could also need reinforcements in other areas.

According to a report from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool are one of the sides showing an interest in signing Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Mourinho is willing to sanction a departure for the French international as he is not a key part of their plans.

As it stands, Camavinga is uninterested in leaving Real Madrid this summer, but it’ll be interesting to see if that changes if he’s limited to a bench role with the Spanish giants.

Camavinga, who has been described as one of the best in the world, is too good to be sitting on the bench, even if it is for a club the size of Real Madrid.

Camavinga walks into Liverpool’s midfield

Real Madrid's Eduardo Camavinga

There is no doubt that if Liverpool can secure the signature of Camavinga in the summer transfer window, he would walk into their midfield.

The French midfielder is one of the best in the world, and after some of the displays by Liverpool’s current midfielders last season, he will undoubtedly become a guaranteed starter.

Convincing Camavinga to leave Real Madrid seems to be the biggest issue, as the La Liga club are willing to offload him.

The Reds will be able to offer Champions League football to Camavinga, but we are yet to see whether Iraola can get a tune out of this Liverpool squad.

Man Utd Eye PSG Winger Ibrahim Mbaye in Summer Transfer

Although the major focus for Manchester United in the summer transfer window is to bring in midfield reinforcements, they could look to strengthen in other areas of the pitch.

The Red Devils are yet to complete any new additions since the market opened, despite pushing to sign several different midfielders.

If United want to give a good account of themselves in the Champions League next season, as well as cope with pushing in the Premier League, there is no doubt they need reinforcements all over the pitch.

Although it was a phenomenal achievement for my character to guide United into the Champions League places last season, they didn’t have the distraction of European football like other clubs.

That’s all going to change this campaign, meaning they’ll need a deeper squad to deal with the schedule.

According to reports, Manchester United are exploring a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Ibrahim Mbaye in the summer transfer window.

The report claims that United are preparing a bid to sign the Senegalese international, while PSG are hoping to receive around £30 million.

United face competition for his signature as clubs look to take advantage of his lack of regular starts at PSG.

Mbaye, described as ‘one of the best young players in the world’, has struggled to cement himself as a guarantee in Luis Enrique’s side, which is no surprise given the amount of talent they have in their squad.

Mbaye’s representatives are looking to convince him to remain in Paris, but there’s a strong chance he ends up in the Premier League.

Mbaye could be ideal winger signing

Ibrahim Mbaye

United currently have plenty of options on the wings, including Bryan Mbuemo, Matheus Cunha and Amad Diallo.

Despite that, all three have been deployed in various different positions during their time at United. It’s certainly not set in stone that Mbaye wouldn’t break into the starting eleven.

The young winger has plenty of potential and perhaps a higher ceiling than the aforementioned United trio.

Mbaye is also capable of making an immediate impact at senior level, as we’ve seen during his time at PSG and Senegal.

If United could secure his signature this summer, it would be a smart signing for the future and the present.
