Forget Iraola and Alonso: Liverpool Eyeing Sebastian Hoeness
Despite reports suggesting that Liverpool are going to stick with Klopp for next season, the pressure is surely mounting on the manager after a disappointing campaign.
The Reds failed to build on lifting the Premier League title, and although they should still qualify for the Champions League, they are perhaps quite fortunate to even finish in the top five.
Liverpool have been linked with a host of managers throughout the season, with Slot under pressure to turn things around.
After another disappointing result at the weekend, Liverpool are surely debating whether to keep the Dutch manager in charge heading into the next campaign.
FSG and the hierarchy need to make a change, or Liverpool risk going backwards once again.

Liverpool Eyeing Bundesliga Manager
Liverpool have been linked with multiple managers in recent months, and after they missed out on Xabi Alonso, there is one outstanding candidate remaining.
Alonso was appointed as Chelsea manager this weekend, with the Spanish coach reportedly a target for Liverpool over the last few weeks.
Liverpool have been previously linked with a move to bring in Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness, who has done a phenomenal job with the Bundesliga outfit.
Hoeness, described as ‘outstanding’, has completely transformed Stuttgart, leading them to a Champions League finish for the second time in three years, playing an exciting style of football.
Andoni Iraola is another name that keeps popping up when people discuss Liverpool, but Hoeness would be a better option.
Hoeness Compared to Klopp
Hoeness would be a smart option for Liverpool to replace Slott, and according to The Athletic, he has many admirers at Anfield.
When Liverpool previously analysed potential targets for the managerial position, his data scores were reportedly closely aligned with former manager Jurgen Klopp.
Honours play an aggressive, high-pressing style of football, similar to Klopp, and there’s no doubt Liverpool fans would absolutely love him.
Honours would help transform Liverpool back to an exciting side to watch who can start to push again for Premier League titles.
Forget Iraola and Alonso, Hoeness is the man for Liverpool to bring in and replace Slot in the summer.

Man Utd Add Valencia Midfielder Javi Guerra to Summer Transfer Shortlist
Manchester United have added a new target to their short list for the summer transfer window as their search for midfield reinforcements continues.
The summer transfer window is yet to open, but we are already seeing a host of different midfielders being linked with a move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are in the hunt for a replacement for Brazilian international Casemiro, who will be leaving the club this summer following the expiration of his contract.
The Red Devils could look to complete a mini rebuild, looking to back new manager Michael Carrick after a strong end to the campaign.
The likes of Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, and Ederson have all been linked with a move, but a new target has now emerged on their shortlist.

Man Utd Add New Midfielder Target
According to a report from Sports Boom, Manchester United have now added Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra to their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.
The report claims that the Spanish star has now emerged as a primary target for the Red Devils, with his valuation set at around £35m, although the player has a €100m (£86m) release clause in his contract.
A host of clubs are also showing an interest in securing his signature, including from the Premier League.
Guerra, described as a ‘generational’ midfielder, only signed a new contract back in August, keeping him tied down until 2029.
Despite that, a number of clubs from around Europe are showing an interest in trying to prise him away from the Spanish club.
Man Utd In The Market for Multiple Midfielders
Guerra certainly isn’t the only midfielder Manchester United are chasing during the summer transfer window.
Reports have claimed that the Red Devils have reached an agreement to sign Atalanta star Ederson for a fee that could reach £38m.
The Manchester club were in the market for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson, but it appears they have given up on the race to secure his signature, with rivals Manchester City leading the way.
It looks as though more than one midfielder could arrive through the door for United in the summer transfer window, which is no surprise as they aim to build a deeper squad ready for the Champions League.

Liverpool could replace £150,000-a-week midfielder amid ‘really worrying’ decline
Liverpool are set to enter the market for at least one new midfielder this summer as the Reds look to right the wrongs from the most recent campaign.
The Merseyside club failed to win any silverware and despite spending time at the top of the Premier League in the early weeks of the season, they were resoundingly unsuccessful in the defence of their title.
Arne Slot’s squad is expected to go through some major changes this summer with two players already leaving after Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah confirmed their exits before the end of the campaign.
The duo said goodbye to the club’s supporters after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford.
Liverpool will look to bolster midfield options this summer
Speaking on The Athletic FC podcast, Liverpool reporter James Pearce said that adding more pace in attack and signing a new midfielder were two priorities for Liverpool in the transfer window.
The search for a new midfielder has been triggered by a ‘really, really worrying’ decline in performances from Alexis Mac Allister. There could even be two midfielders signed by the club during the window.
Liverpool conceded 53 goals in the Premier League and out of the sides who finished in the top half, only Bournemouth let in more.
Even a handful of clubs who finished in the bottom half of the table conceded fewer goals than Slot’s side.
Ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher heavily criticised the Reds after a 3-2 loss to Manchester United, pointing out how his former club lack the required physicality to compete in the Premier League.
The club’s plans to bolster their midfield with a more combative player indicate they are aiming to resolve the problem.
What has gone wrong for Alexis Mac Allister this season?
The ‘world-class’ 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina, who is on wages of £150,000-a-week, joined Liverpool from Brighton and Hove Albion for £35m in 2023.
He had an impressive first season at the club under Jurgen Klopp and then played a key role as the Reds won the title in Slot’s first campaign.
However, the last 12 months have been his toughest since he moved to Anfield.
He won less than 50 per cent of his duels throughout the Premier League season, and completed less than 50 per cent of his attempted dribbles.
Mac Allister was also dribbled past 41 times and disposed 29 times. He contributed to six goals in the Premier League as he found the back of the net twice and provided four assists.

Dana White Reveals Why UFC Legend Anderson Silva Hates Him
UFC CEO Dana White has revealed that one company legend, who is frequently included in the GOAT debate, now hates him so much that he refuses to speak to him.
The veteran matchmaker has been in charge of the world’s mixed martial arts organisation for 25 years, having initially bought into the company in 2001. While Dana hasn’t always been popular with his fighters, he’s typically kept a positive relationship with most of its top stars.
White is on good terms with the likes of Ronda Rousey, Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier and remains cordial with many others, even after having disagreements.
UFC Legend Refuses to Speak to White
However, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Dana admitted that one icon of the Octagon “won’t talk to me to this day” over the way his run with the company ended.
No matter how dominant a fighter is, there comes a time in every competitor’s career when the skills that they once dazzled with have faded.
Across his quarter of a century, White has had to have numerous conversations with fighters who have passed their prime about stepping away from being an active UFC fighter.
Understandably, these are not easy talks to have, but the competitors involved usually realise that their time in the spotlight is coming to an end and generally don’t hold too much of a grudge against Dana for suggesting that they should hang up their gloves.

Dana White Made A Big Call About UFC Legend – It Ruined Their Relationship
This is not the case when it comes to former UFC Middleweight Champion, Anderson Silva, though. Widely considered to be the greatest 185lbs fighter the UFC has ever seen, ‘The Spider’ went unbeaten for 16 fights after debuting for the promotion in June 2006, including a record 10 successful defences of the middleweight championship.
Silva was an incredible fighter to watch in his prime, but his style was heavily dependent on his reflexes. When these began to fade with age, Anderson’s aura of invincibility disappeared with them.
After suffering his first UFC loss to Chris Weidman at UFC 162 in July 162, Anderson would pick up just one single win across the next seven years.
By the time he fought Uriah Hall in October 2020, Silva was 45 years old. When he fell to a fourth-round stoppage defeat, Dana insisted that he would never promote another fight involving the Brazilian.
White stuck to his word, even though it seemingly ruined the pair’s relationship forever.
“Anderson Silva, he was always a unique individual to deal with, but he lost like eight or nine or 10 in a row, something like that,” White recalled. [Silva actually lost seven of his last nine UFC bouts.]
“That guy won’t talk to me to this day. Because I said it’s over and he was in his 40s.”
Dana continued: “His thing was ‘who are you to tell me that I’m done doing what I love to do?’ [I told him] it’s over. Obviously, they can go fight [somewhere else] and he did. He went and fought a boxing match and he fought a bunch of other fights.
“He can still fight. You just can’t do it here.”
Now 51 years old, Silva continues to compete, alongside training to be a police officer. His most recent fight saw him knock out former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley in a boxing match in December of last year.
It’s now nearly six years since he last fought for the UFC, but he’s still seemingly no closer to forgiving Dana.
