World-Class Midfielder Ready To Sign For Man Utd

Published

on

Manchester United will be playing Champions League football next season – with Michael Carrick confirmed to be at the helm for the 2026/27 campaign.

The ex-Middlesbrough boss was handed a two-year contract to become the club’s new head coach after an impressive interim spell.

He took over after Ruben Amorim was sacked and led the Red Devils to a third-place finish.

United are looking to add two new midfielders to their ranks once the window opens and have already got to work on identifying their top targets.

The likes of Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali and Ederson are all firmly on their radar while Real Madrid star Aurélien Tchouaméni has been labelled as a ‘dream’ target for the club.

Carlos Baleba wants Man Utd move

Another Premier League midfielder who could make the move to Old Trafford this summer is Brighton and Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba.

United made a move for the player last summer but the Seagulls’ asking price of more than £100million put the Red Devils off making a move.

With Casemiro and his £350,000-a-week wages departing United, the club are in a stronger financial position to make a big investment in their midfield.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Baleba wants to make the move to United.

“Then, we know, [in the] transfer window, you always have to be smart to try to understand the best opportunities, so let’s see what’s going to happen with all of them,” said Romano on his YouTube channel as he discussed United’s plans for the summer.

“Including also Baleba, he’s another name we have to include because the player is keen on the move, and then Man United will decide who are the midfielders they really want.”

The 22-year-old has been described as a ‘world-class’ player and last summer was the subject of major praise from ex-United defender Rio Ferdinand.

Baleba had a better duel success rate than Casemiro during the most recent campaign and had more progressive carries than the Brazilian, according to statistics from Data MB.

However, his game last season lacked a high output of progressive and key passes, with Casemiro outperforming the Cameroon international in both those metrics.

Baleba came off the bench on Sunday as Brighton lost 3-0 to United. He played the final 30 minutes of the game, with the visitors already having a three-goal lead at that point.

During his time on the pitch, he created two chances, made two tackles, six recoveries and won five of his eight ground duels.

The midfielder did not start the game after picking up an illness during the week while Fabian Hurzeler felt he had shown signs of fatigue following Brighton’s 1-0 loss to Leeds United in their penultimate outing.

England Icon Responds to Pep Guardiola Calling Him the ‘One Regret’ of His Career

Pep Guardiola’s time as Manchester City manager has come to an end after the 2025-26 Premier League season, ending with a 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa.

The iconic boss has completed an incredible decade at the Etihad Stadium, lifting six Premier League trophies and one Champions League, among many other domestic honours. While his time at the helm has been almost flawless, there have been a few imperfections along the way.

In his final week as the Citizens’ manager, Guardiola admitted to his ‘one regret’ during his tenure in England. He claimed he made a mistake in shunning former Three Lions goalkeeper Joe Hart so early into his time at the club.

During an interview with Sky Sports, the Catalan-born tactician suggested he acted too hastily when he arrived in 2016 and quickly decided club hero Joe Hart wouldn’t be his goalkeeper. He replaced the 75-cap England star with Claudio Bravo immediately.

“When you take a lot of decisions – a lot, a lot of decisions – you make mistakes,” he said. The reason at the time for the change in between the sticks was that Bravo was the better ball-playing ‘keeper.

He could have signed the player for just £100,000.

“But there is one regret that I have hidden deep inside for many years,” Guardiola continued. “I didn’t give Joe Hart the chance to be with me, to prove how good a goalkeeper he was.

“And I should have done. With all respect to Claudio (Bravo), and then Ederson who came in – he was important – but in that moment I (should have) thought, ‘Okay Joe, let’s try to do it together. If it doesn’t work, then we change it.'”

Hart was quickly shipped out on various loan moves to Torino and West Ham before departing permanently in 2018. He won two Premier League titles with the club before being cast aside by Guardiola.

England Hero Hart Responds Brilliantly

Before the iconic manager’s last game in charge of his old club, Hart was given the opportunity to respond. When asked about the comments Guardiola made, he replied: “I didn’t expect them first and foremost. It probably meant more to me than I expected.”

He went on to explain that they did have an honest conversation at the time and then shook hands despite their differences. The goalkeeper-turned-pundit added:

“I like Pep, I get on with Pep. We shook hands 10 years ago when he told me that I wasn’t for him. He gave me his reasons. I gave my reasons why I thought I should be. And we agreed to disagree, but ultimately he holds the power.”

Hart still doesn’t agree that he should’ve been thrown to the side, but maintains he ‘likes’ the Barcelona icon: “And look, he’s done alright, hasn’t he? You know, he’s a superb manager. And I liked him before it, I still like him now. And like I say, we’ve crossed paths, we’ve worked together, we’ve conversed. But I felt like I was good enough, I felt like I was good enough to certainly be given a chance.”

“But that is football, that is life. I don’t hold grudges, I don’t see a problem in it. You know, my world kept spinning, I’ve had some amazing opportunities and I’ve had an amazing career after that,” he concluded.

Rangers are preparing for a busy summer transfer window, and they’ve now made an approach to sign one player from Wrexham, GIVEMESPORT correspondent Ben Jacobs has confirmed.

The Glasgow giants are likely to be busy in the upcoming summer transfer window after a disappointing season in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers missed out on the title to Celtic, with the deciding factor being losing three crucial games in a row towards the end of the campaign.

Rangers have opened talks with Wrexham star Josh Windass ahead of a potential move to bring him back to Ibrox, GIVEMESPORT correspondent Jacobs has confirmed.

The Glasgow club made an attempt to sign him in the January transfer window, which Wrexham rejected, but a fresh move is now being driven by manager Danny Rohl.

Rangers are yet to enter club-to-club negotiations with Wrexham, but the Championship club did previously indicate in January that they didn’t want to lose him.
