The Turkish Super Lig has become one of the most common destinations for big-name players who are looking for a new challenge, with Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah becoming the latest to join the division.

He’s not the only recognisable name to swap the English Premier League for the Turkish top-flight in recent years, either. But Salah could be the biggest coup the league has ever pulled off, as he was considered one of the best players on the planet just 12 months ago.

The Egyptian has joined several other Premier League winners in Turkey, and is being rewarded handsomely for his services. In fact, he’s instantly become the top earner in the league.

Andre Onana is heading into his second season on loan at Trabzonspor, where he’ll be teammates with Salah. The shot-stopper is being paid £71,901 by his loan club, which is just more than Baris Yilmaz (£61,559) and Stefan Savic (£65,663).

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce players dominate the rankings when it comes to the highest-paid players in Turkey, with the likes of Diego Carlos, Lucas Torreira, Nelson Semedo and Fred all making more than £80,000 per week after swapping England for Turkey.

Likewise, Ilkay Gundogan and Davinson Sanchez are now teammates at Galatasaray after playing for Manchester City and Tottenham, respectively. The pair are now earning £92,421 weekly.

Other notable names earning a fortune include former Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi and ex-Man City ace Nathan Ake. They both represent Fenerbahce and take home £123,118 every week.

One of the newest additions to the league is Leandro Trossard, who played a starring role in Arsenal’s title win last season. It was a shock to some that Mikel Arteta was willing to let the Belgian leave the Emirates, but his £133,460 weekly wage has already made him Besiktas’ top earner.

Leroy Sane recently played for Germany at the 2026 World Cup, much to the surprise of many. Several big injuries hampered the former Manchester City winger and cost him many months on the pitch. Despite no longer possessing explosive speed, he’s still raking in £184,677 each week at Galatasaray.

Victor Osimhen has now been knocked off his perch as the highest-earning player in the Turkish Super Lig. But that won’t upset the Nigerian forward too much, as Gala repay his goalscoring ability with £307,795 every week.

Trabzonspor have gone all out to snap up Salah, who left Liverpool at the end of the 2025-26 season. The club slapped a £342,500 weekly salary on the table (per SalaryLeaks) for the two-time Premier League winner. He’ll be expected to score plenty of goals and fire Trabzonspor into contention for trophies. After all, he’s the fourth-highest scorer in Premier League history with 193 goals.

Crystal Palace are keen to sign former Brighton and Hove Albion winger Solly March on a free transfer, GIVEMESPORT understands.

Crystal Palace have got a big season ahead in the Europa League group stages after winning the Europa Conference League last term, with Pierre Sage at the helm after Oliver Glasner’s departure.

The Eagles have been quiet in the transfer market though, with less than a month until the window slams shut on September 1.

Right-back Oscar Mingueza is the only arrival for the French manager so far, with the south London outfit expected to ramp up their business in the coming days.

According to GMS sources, Palace are close to a full agreement to sign wing-back Zavier Gozo from Real Salt Lake, while they are in the market for a new centre-back too following Maxence Lacroix’s exit to London neighbours, Chelsea.

They are likely to want more new additions too to boost a squad facing a congested fixture list again during the 2026-27 campaign.

Now, the Eagles appear to be closing in on a move to sign March for free after his exit from Brighton on the expiry of his contract at the end of June.

Crystal Palace Keen on Controversial Solly March Move

Crystal Palace are looking to add to their attacking options too, and they are weighing up a surprise move for free agent and former Brighton hero Solly March.

The 32-year-old’s appearances for the Seagulls were restricted last term following a knee injury, and the decision was made for the player to part ways with the club at the end of the season.

Palace clearly still feel he can have a role to play at the top level of the English game though.

March made 300 appearances for Palace’s arch-rivals, scoring 26 goals and registering a further 31 assists.

Brighton to Selhurst Park a Rarely-Trodden Path

There aren’t many players who have featured both clubs, and certainly not joining directly like March would be.

Glenn Murray was one player who made the move, joining Crystal Palace from Brighton in 2012.

It may have been a contentious transfer at the time, but Murray netted 47 goals and registered 15 assists in 126 appearances in all competitions for the Eagles.

Arsenal have made contact with Bournemouth over the possibility of signing Alex Scott, although the Cherries are reluctant to sanction the midfielder’s departure this summer, according to talkSPORT.

Scott enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 season, helping Andoni Iraola’s team qualify for the Europa League across his 37 Premier League appearances. This form hasn’t gone unnoticed across the league, with several top clubs expressing an interest in signing the England international, including the Gunners, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Blues submitted a £64 million offer for Scott earlier this month, but Bournemouth swiftly rejected the bid, as they continue to hold out for a fee closer to the £80 million mark.

Andrea Berta reached out to the south coast club to understand the situation around the player earlier in the window, with a view to potentially making a move, although advances on a deal for Bruno Guimaraes may ultimately quash speculation on this front.

Berta has made signing a new central midfielder a priority for Arsenal this summer. Martin Zubimendi struggled in the back half of last season, while Declan Rice has been carrying an injury for some time, making the addition of a top-class number six or eight necessary for the Gunners.

Initially, the Italian sporting director set out to acquire a younger player for this position, looking at moves for the likes of Scott and Ayyoub Bouaddi. However, as Rice’s condition deteriorated at the World Cup, attention was turned toward Guimaraes.

Arsenal are now closing in on a deal for Guimaraes, and while many would assume this would signal the end of the North London club’s midfield pursuits this summer, talkSPORT report that they could still sign Scott.

While Bournemouth were clear in their stance regarding Scott when Arsenal made their approach, a deal cannot be ruled out if the potential suitors fork out the fee the Cherries are looking for.

Alex Scott Pursuit Might Hinge on Myles Lewis-Skelly’s Future

It’s difficult to envisage Scott arriving at the Emirates and joining Mikel Arteta’s midfield department as it is.

However, an unexpected sale could change that. Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting that Myles Lewis-Skelly is a target for Manchester United. If this transfer were to materialise, then it’s not impossible to see a world where Arsenal then move for Scott.

There’s also the simple fact that Arsenal need to get younger in the middle of the park. Rice, Zubimendi, Guimaraes, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino are all 27 or older. Scott would provide them with an option for the long-term.
