2027: ‘It’ll be tough like WWE’ – Ndume on Tinubu facing Peter Obi, Atiku
The Senator representing Borno South Senatorial District, Ali Ndume has said that the 2027 presidential election is going to be as tough as the World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, the politician was reminded of the storm building up against his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, with the likes of Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and Seyi Makinde all in the race
Asked if the APC and President Bola Tinubu can withstand the storm that is coming in 2027, he said, “I am not that worried about it, but at the same time, I don’t take opponents for granted.
“I have said this severally on TV, and that is the mistake most of us are making, especially those around Mr President: having problems telling him the facts. We are going to struggle it out together; it can be hard like the WWE; it’s going to be a tough fight.”
“As I said, even when I made the statement that we are going to reciprocate what the president did to us, many people that I didn’t expect to call me, called and shouted at me.
“The president is my president, he is in my party, we’re going to struggle it out together, and this is not the first time, Peter Obi has tried before, Atiku has tried before. Who else again? They are not new in the arena.”

2027 battle of titans, Atiku Tinubu’s biggest challenger – Dele Momodu
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dele Momodu, on Monday, said the party’s flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar is President Bola Tinubu’s biggest challenger.
Momodu said the 2027 presidential election is between Atiku and President Tinubu, stressing that it’s a battle of the titans.
Posting on X, Momodu charged the ADC to change its political strategies to accommodate new ways of playing politics.
The former presidential candidate said it’s time for national reconciliation, re-orientation, and reconstruction.
He wrote: “The 2027 Presidential election is expected to be a major fight between President Bola Tinubu and his biggest challenger, Atiku Abubakar. It promises to be the battle of the Titans. A third force, hopefully, may show up, like it did in 2023, but not with enough fire power and tenacity to upstage, and obliterate, the two elder statesmen.
“This is why it has become pertinent, and urgent, for our dear party ADC to change the traditional way of playing politics by becoming a link between the old and modern, conservative and cosmopolitan tendencies, veteran politicians and technocrats in government.
“There’s no better combination than this duo, assuring of a colorful blend. The North and the South will reunite in a game of ethnic and religious rivalries.
“The present combustive tensions, and absolute chaos, cannot be allowed to continue. It will consume all of us, the time has come to retrace our steps and return to the days of robust ideas, ideologies and inspirational figures.
“Our founding fathers such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, The Sardauna Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and others, tried their best, even if they were not perfect. Today, we’ve completely derailed from the legacies they bequeathed to us.
“The politics of gansterism has become unbearably malignant in our nation. This is the type of strong bridge we need between the North and the South. We must act before it is too late.”

Dele Momodu shares campaign poster projecting him as Atiku’s 2027 running mate
Publisher and politician, Dele Momodu has shared a campaign-style poster on social media portraying him as the running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Momodu, who posted the image on his Facebook page on Monday, accompanied it with a message calling for national reconciliation, re-orientation and reconstruction.
He described the 2027 presidential election as a likely contest between President Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, whom he identified as the leading challengers in the race.
According to Momodu, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, should adopt a new political approach by bridging the gap between older and younger generations of leaders, as well as between experienced politicians and technocrats.

“It promises to be the battle of the Tians. A third force, hopefully, may show up, like it did in 2023, but not with enough fire power and tenacity to upstage, and obliterate, the two elder statesmen,” he said.
He argued that such a strategy would help foster national unity and address the country’s growing political and social tensions.
The Ovation magazine publisher also stressed the need for stronger cooperation between Northern and Southern Nigeria, warning that the country’s current challenges could worsen if political leaders fail to act.
He called for a return to issue-based politics and leadership inspired by the ideals of Nigeria’s founding fathers, including Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Ahmadu Bello and Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
