Carlos Baleba Is Speaking To Players About Man Utd Transfer

Published

on

Manchester United have plenty of transfer targets lined up, but one such star is talking to current players about a possible move to Old Trafford, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils are in the middle of another rebuild, following a successful end to the campaign that saw Michael Carrick guide the team back into the Champions League.

That return to Europe will mean the club needs to add quality and depth to the ranks to give the manager the best chance possible of competing across all fronts next season.

Several key areas are being lined up for improvements, but most important of them all is midfield, where a deal for Ederson is already agreed.

Beyond him, Man United are still expected to spend big in midfield, with one of those options now quizzing current players about what life may be like at Old Trafford.

Carlos Baleba Eyes Man United Transfer

One of the stars linked with a switch in midfield is Carlos Baleba, as Man United attempted to sign the Brighton ace last summer, but failed in their bid to make a move.

The Cameroonian international has remained on the shortlist since, but has been joined by links with the likes of Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton, Sandro Tonali, and more.

As the search for a midfielder continue, The Sun reports that Baleba has been actively speaking to Man United stars about the possibility of joining the club.

It’s claimed that the 22-year-old spoke with Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha after United’s win over Brighton on the final day of the Premier League campaign, while he has been talked up by current stars in the squad before.

While that all may suggest a deal could be on the cards, it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils will make their interest concrete with an offer.

Similarly, after Brighton rejected an approach last summer, it’s unclear exactly how they would evaluate Baleba’s availability now, following a campaign that saw him in and out of the team.

Baleba’s 2025/26 Struggles

Carlos Baleba in action for Brighton & Hove Albion

Baleba has shown plenty of quality in his time at Brighton, but 2025/26 proved to be a slightly more challenging campaign for the midfielder than the previous one.

The Cameroonian star started just 23 games in the Premier League last campaign, with the start of the season coming as quite a struggle as he was substituted off in several high-profile matches.

The concerns continued as Baleba only completed 90 minutes three times in the league campaign, though his schedule was also packed out with the Africa Cup of Nations in the middle of it all.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler suggested that perhaps the mention of a move to Man United did impact the midfield ace at the start of the campaign.

Baleba has previously been described as “world-class”, and he has shown elements of having that ability. The question is whether he can hit those heights and on a consistent basis, be that at Man United or elsewhere.

Arteta’s Dream Arsenal Left-Winger Target is a €100m ‘Alien’

Published

on

By

Mikel Arteta is said to be dreaming of a specific left-winger transfer that would be one of the biggest signings of the summer transfer window. Arsenal do not have too many needs this summer, given they won the Premier League title and came within a few kicks of a first-ever Champions League title.

Arsenal have put together an incredibly strong squad, and last summer’s focus on recruiting depth has set them up nicely for years to come. Naturally, players are always going to leave, especially those who are not playing regularly, and Arsenal will have to replace such players, but the decisions over where to upgrade are far less obvious.

The left-winger spot has been a concern for Arteta, though, and another striker may well be snapped up in anticipation of Gabriel Jesus departing.

Arteta’s dream left-winger target

Kenan Yildiz

According to a fresh report from Sacha Tavolieri, Juventus superstar in the making Kenan Yildiz is a player Arteta dreams of signing. The 21-year-old winger has established himself as one of the most exciting young attacking talents in world football, and he was heavily linked with a Premier League or LaLiga move prior to signing a new contract with Juventus earlier this year.

That contract means a deal now would likely cost huge money, but the Gunners do have the capacity to pull off more significant spending this summer.

Tavolieri wrote on X: “Mikel Arteta considers Kenan Yildiz has a dream target! Nothing advanced yet with World Cup ongoing, but Arsenal wants to sign a key player at the left winger position and has a plan for the Turkish. Gunners would be ready to spend around €100M for Yildiz. Christos Tzolis considered as alternative option, as @David_Ornstein called.”

Yildiz, described as a phenomenon by Guiseppe Rossi, scored 11 and assisted 10 times for Juventus in what was a difficult season for the Old Lady. Despite his youth, he has already become one of the club’s most important players, and he is able to play across the front line, although his best position is on the left.

Speaking about the forward earlier this season, Juve boss Luciano Spalletti said: “Yildiz played as the striker and scored. He’s an alien, not a normal footballer. Every now and then he does something wrong just to see if he can fit into normality, but he can’t. He simply can’t become a normal footballer.”

It’s that sort of talent that saw many of the world’s biggest clubs circle Yildiz before that new contract was signed. The new deal means Juventus are likely to play hardball over any deal, with the Italian giants well aware that they have a superstar in the making. Yildiz is currently with Türkiye at the World Cup.

54-Year-Old Manager in Line to Replace Rohl at Rangers

Rangers already appear to have a prime managerial target amid the possibility of Danny Rohl being lured away this summer. Rohl has only been at Ibrox since October, but despite overseeing a title collapse during the season just gone, the German is being linked with a new job.

Rangers have thrown their weight behind Rohl, despite a disappointing end to the campaign, but Austrian club RB Salzburg are hoping to turn his head. Salzburg decided not to extend Daniel Belchler’s short deal, and they are now said to be in talks with the Gers over the appointing of Rohl.

Rangers identify replacement

According to The Sun’s journalist Robert Grieve, who also broke the Lawrence Shankland to Rangers transfer a few weeks ago, there is no deal involving Rohl in place as things stand. The Scottish giants are demanding a multi-million compensation package, insisting there will be no movement until that is agreed to.

Rohl is under contract until the summer of 2028, so Rangers are well within their rights to demand that compensation, and such money will help them source a replacement that will also likely command compensation.

And that will indeed be the case if Rangers go after Hearts boss Derek McInnes, who will be the prime target should Rohl leave, according to the report.

The former Aberdeen and Kilmarnock boss has been with his current club since May of last year, and in his first full season, he guided Hearts to within less than one game from winning the Premiership title. Hearts were ultimately beaten by Celtic on the final day to lose out, having held the Bhoys at bay for an extended run.

The latest on Rohl to Salzburg talks

Whether Rangers advance their McInnes interest will be totally dependent on what happens with Rohl, but an exit seems likely at this stage. Rohl has previously worked for Red Bull, serving as one of the RB Leipzig coaches, and he has reportedly been pitched to Red Bull group by Jurgen Klopp, who is head of global soccer with the company.

Gers chiefs Andrew Cavenagh and Jim Gillsespie are currently in Boston on a club event, and they are said to have met Salzburg advances with the demand for the aforementioned compensation.

Ironically, Rohl was set to take Rangers on a pre-season tour of Austria this summer, but if Salzburg do end up appointing him, he may be headed to Austria on a separate plane to his current team.

Man Utd in ‘Official’ Talks to Sign ‘Incredible’ Star

Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Manchester United’s reported bid to land West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes this summer. The Red Devils are in the market for a combative midfielder as they look to replace the outgoing Casemiro this summer.

Michael Carrick has already snapped up Ederson from Atalanta, but United want a statement signing they can plug and play in that holding role. A number of names have been mentioned, but West Ham’s Fernandes seems to be one of the lead targets, and Romano has provided the latest on the situation.

Romano’s Fernandes to Man Utd update

West Ham United's Mateus Fernandes celebrates scoring vs Sunderland

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano reported that United are currently in talks with West Ham over the signing of Fernandes, though the fee could be a sticking point.

“My understanding remains £85million the price of the player,” he began. “Obviously West Ham (would like) to have several clubs at the table to drive the price up, but at the moment still an open situation, the one of Mateus Fernandez, Real Madrid, genuine interest, a name indicated by José Mourinho, but they signed Bernardo Silva, so there are many midfielders at Real Madrid right now, and that’s why, at the moment, for Real Madrid, interest, yes, contact, yes, but still nothing advanced.

“Manchester United are in official negotiations with the agent of the player talking about the contract, and Manchester United are also in contact with West Ham to discuss about the transfer fee. Man United are not going to pay completely crazy money, so Man United wants to understand if there is the possibility to restructure the deal, maybe a lower fee than 85 million pounds, but maybe adding some add-ons and try to find a different structure.”

Fernandes a man in demand

Fernandes is attracting plenty of attention this summer, and while part of that is West Ham suffering relegation, interest was always likely given he clearly stood out for the Hammers in the season just gone.

At just 21 years of age, Fernandes has been identified by many as a player who has a huge future ahead of him, and national team manager Roberto Martinez is also well aware.“Regarding Mateus Fernandes, what he’s doing now is incredible,” he said. “We all know his journey and what he did in the under-21s.”

Fernandes is not at this summer’s World Cup, with Portugal having a superb midfield that includes Vitinha, who is arguably the best in the world in his position. But it’s clear Fernandes is well on course for a spot in his country’s national team.
