Food and Drinks Prices at Seattle Stadium

Published

Football fans who attend 2026 World Cup matches face having to fork out eye-watering prices for food and drinks options inside stadiums.

FIFA faced fierce criticism last week after deciding supporters would no longer be able to bring water bottles into venues in North America due to safety concerns. This decision was later reversed following the backlash.

“Each spectator can bring with them one 20 ounce (560ml) soft, plastic disposable factory-sealed water bottle into the stadium,” World Cup 2026 chief operating officer, Heimo Schirgi, later confirmed.

“What is not allowed are hard-sided resealable water containers, which could pose a safety and security risk.”

High temperatures are expected at games throughout the tournament. Nearly half of all fixtures face a 50 per cent chance of temperatures exceeding 28 degrees Celsius (82.4 Fahrenheit) – a threshold linked to declines in sprinting, distance covered and recovery time, according to The Independent.

In all 104 matches, there will be three-minute “hydration breaks” midway through each half.

However, supporters who don’t bring their own water bottle will need to cough up hefty prices to keep themselves hydrated.

Signs currently up at the 72,000-seater Seattle Stadium (also known as Lumen Field), where four group-stage matches are taking place, show a 20 ounce (560ml) bottle of water will cost $5.99 (£4.50).

Fans requiring more water can pay $10.49 (£7.85) for a one-litre bottle of water instead.

Two alcoholic beverages are available – but they’re not exactly cheap. One 16 ounce (one pint) of American Beer will set fans back a cool $17.99 (£13.46), while a Craft/Import Beer (illustrious on the board as a can of Stella Artois) is one dollar more expensive at $18.99 (£14.21).

Supporters feeling pecking have several options in the Food & Snacks category.

A soft pretzel costs $13.49 (£10.09), while kettle corn (popcorn) is the same price. ‘Cheaper’ alternatives include ice cream dots for $11.99 (£8.97), cotton candy for $11.99 (£8.97), or a churro for $10.99 (£7.48).

The cheapest option is a bag of nuts for $8.99 (£6.72). Ouch.

Needless to say, shocked supporters have had plenty to say about the Lumen Field food and drink prices on social media.

One football fan on X (Twitter) said: “£13.50 for a beer is criminal,” while another commented:

“Everyone involved in the World Cup is ripping fans off.”

A third supporter commented: “At least Dirk Turpin wore a mask,” while a fourth added; “Who is paying nine dollars for some bloody nuts? Be serious.”

Another described the prices as “actual robbery” and a sixth fan simply said: “Disgrace”.

The 2026 World Cup kicks off at the iconic Estadio Azteca between Mexico and South Africa on Thursday.

Kimi Antonelli Mocks Kim Kardashian For Stealing His Towel at Monaco GP

Mercedes driving duo Kimi Antonelli and George Russell have reacted to the former’s towel being stolen by American media personality Kim Kardashian following the Monaco Grand Prix this past weekend.

Kardashian, currently in a relationship with Ferrari driver and seven-time Formula 1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, has brought increased attention to the F1 world in recent months and that was taken to another level this past weekend in Monaco.

The race weekend at Circuit de Monaco was the first that Kardashian had attended in person since beginning a relationship with Hamilton, and her presence had the media swarming around her every move and trying to land an interview with her.

Sky Sports’ Martin Brundle, famous for speaking to famous names on the grid before a race, attempted to speak to Kardashian, but was met with an unenthusiastic response by the 45-year-old and her entourage.

Kardashian would go on to witness her partner finish second in Sunday’s chaotic race, which saw seven drivers, including Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Charles Leclerc not finish. This was Hamilton’s third podium finish of the 2026 season, and he currently sits second in the Drivers’ Championship.

Hamilton was pipped to first place by the current leader of the driver standings, Antonelli, with the victory impressively being the teenage Italian’s fifth in six races this season.

The viral towel incident soon followed the raising of the chequered flag as Kardashian was caught stealing the towel reserved for Antonelli. Usually, there are towels left for the three drivers who finish on the podium at an F1 race to help them get cleaned up before the post-race ceremony and celebration.

This act by Kardashian likely left Antonelli confused and without a towel to wipe himself down after a long afternoon driving around the Circuit de Monaco.

Kim Kardashian’s actions on the grid walk angered a lot of Formula 1 fans.

Mercedes‘ driving duo have now playfully responded to the viral incident in the days since the Monaco GP through a funny skit in a new social media post.

The now-viral video shows Antonelli saying to the camera: “I was wondering, have you seen my towel?”, before Russell is seen stating that he has no knowledge of the towel’s whereabouts.

The video then concludes with Antonelli washing his hands in a sink, before looking up and asking: “Hey, have you seen my towel?”

While some F1 fans may be irritated by Kardashian’s new-found presence in the racing world, and be uninterested in her appearances at race weekends, the sport is likely to experience a new level of exposure due to her relationship with Hamilton.

Maybe all is not as it seems between the power couple, as a body language expert analyses this past weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix.

It remains to be seen whether Kardashian makes another appearance at an F1 race weekend again this season or if she limits herself to only a few visits due to the mass media attention her presence causes.

It is reasonable to presume that she will next be there to support Hamilton for his home race at the British Grand Prix next month as opposed to the next couple of Grands Prix in Barcelona and Austria.

Manchester United are now exploring a move to sign Liverpool wonderkid Isaac Konde in a potential double transfer swoop on their rivals, according to the Secret Scout.

Man United are making a big push to strengthen their first-team squad this summer, with a full agreement to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson already reached.

The Brazilian will be far from the last signing at Old Trafford this summer though, with David Ornstein predicting that they will be the busiest Premier League club in the market.

The Red Devils could add up to two more midfielders after Ederson, should Manuel Ugarte join Casemiro in leaving United during the close season.

United are also looking at the left-back position, where they are said to have held positive talks with Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall, while they could look at the left-sided attacking position too amid admiration from both Michael Carrick and Jason Wilcox for Aston Villa and England star Morgan Rogers.

The Red Devils also have a big focus on adding the best youngsters around to the club, with the notable additions of Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven, Sekou Kone and Diego Leon in recent seasons.

Now, they are targeting two more in a similar vein.

Firstly, the Red Devils are exploring a move for 16-year-old winger Isaac Konde, with the post suggesting that the attacker is emerging as a key target for the club.

Contact between the club and Konde’s representatives have already taken place, as United look to get a deal across the line.

Konde isn’t the only target from Liverpool though, with the club also looking at a deal for his striker teammate Vincent Joseph at the same time.

One of the grandkids of current US President Donald Trump has been criticised for her reaction to the 79-year-old’s recent appearance at the 2026 NBA Finals.

Trump has been one of many famous faces to make an appearance at the latest edition of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs.

His presence at Madison Square Garden for Game 3 of the Finals on Monday night caused much discussion in the sporting landscape as it meant he was the first-ever sitting US President to attend an NBA Finals game.

The decision for Trump to attend the third game of the series heavily angered Knicks supporters, however, as his plans meant there would be restrictions around and near the franchise’s first home Finals match in 27 years.

Spurs’ main man has reacted to the history-making collapse and he’s been honest in his reflection.

This led to increased security checks for fans lucky enough to have a ticket for the game, while traditional watch parties that usually take place around the venue were not permitted to go ahead.

Trump was not courtside for the game like most of the celebrities in attendance, as he was placed in a box suite alongside his granddaughter, Kai, and Knicks owner James Dolan. A few members of Trump’s administration were also present in the MSG suite.

Knicks fans made their feelings clear towards Trump and his presence at Game 3 when the American national anthem was played before tip-off, as the president’s appearance on the jumbotron was met with loud boos.

The reaction was heard clearly through the television broadcast of the game and quickly made the rounds on social media.

Kai Trump’s recent social media post of her visit to the third Knicks and Spurs contest, however, has left users puzzled.

Kai Trump’s Edited Social Media Post

Following Game 3, the 19-year-old posted a video on Instagram of her and the president standing for and singing the US anthem, with it captioned: “Thank you to 15SOF for capturing this special moment with my grandpa.”

However, many users were quick to point out that the audio in the clip Kai posted was vastly different to the broadcast version as the boos could not be heard and singer Avery Wilson’s rendition of the national anthem was not audible either.

When he appeared on the big screen, the POTUS was heavily booed by the fans inside Madison Square Garden.

This led to many social media users calling her out, with one user saying: “Why isn’t the national anthem playing in this clip? When I watched this clip LIVE, the anthem was playing and the boos were loud and clear. This is NOT an authentic clip.”

Another responded by writing: “That’s embarrassing changing the audio,” while one user stated: “It’s sad in a way that she had to change the audio from booing to cheers, my god are all the Trumps fibbers?”

New York Knicks Take 3-1 Lead in NBA Finals

The Knicks would go on to lose the third game of the Finals and see the series be pulled back to 2-1 as the Spurs triumphed 115-111 in the Big Apple. Many Knicks fans lamented the current president and his administration’s presence at the game as bad luck for the team and were against a reappearance for Game 4.

The Knicks faithful would have their wish granted, as Trump did not attend the fourth contest of the Finals on Wednesday night and a spectacular night for the home fans would follow.

The Eastern Conference champions produced a stunning Finals-record 29-point comeback to win 107-106 and be just a single victory away from a first NBA Championship since 1973.
