Celtic are searching for a new manager after Brendan Rodgers resigned earlier this week, and talkSPORT host Alan Brazil has claimed that he’s going to be heading to Saudi Arabia for his next club.
Celtic confirmed in a statement late Monday evening that Rodgers had resigned from the Glasgow giants, with Martin O’Neill placed in interim charge alongside Shaun Maloney. GIVEMESPORT understands that the resignation came as a shock to the Celtic board, who were forced to act quickly to bring in O’Neill with a game against Falkirk coming on Wednesday evening.
Celtic are also preparing to face Rangers for the second time this season as the two sides go head-to-head in another Old Firm Derby this weekend. It’s unclear who is going to be in charge of the Parkhead outfit, with Celtic still searching for their new manager.
Alan Brazil: Brendan Rodgers Heading to Saudi After Celtic
Speaking on talkSPORT, Brazil has suggested that he’s been told that Rodgers will be heading to Saudi Arabia after leaving Celtic. The talkSPORT host claims that he doesn’t believe Rodgers will get a top job in England…
“From what I hear, he’s heading to Saudi. That’s the rumour. There’s so many rumours flying about, but I’ve been told that’s probably where he’s going to go. If you think about it, where would you go from Celtic? Is he going to get a top job in England? Probably not.”
It’s unclear as it stands whether Rodgers has chosen to hand in his resignation as he has another club lined up, but it was somewhat out of the blue with his contract expiring at the end of the season anyway. Any potential interested clubs might have some concerns about him jumping ship when the going gets tough, especially with Celtic still second in the Scottish Premiership table.
