West Ham and Fulham are Monitoring Troy Parrott
Ireland striker Troy Parrott could be set for a Premier League return in 2026, GMS understands. The 23-year-old left Tottenham for AZ Alkmaar in summer 2024 for just €8m and has gone on to score 33 goals in 61 games for the Dutch club.
Parrott was Ireland’s hat-trick hero in a stunning 3-2 win at Hungary to reach the World Cup playoffs on Sunday. And he got a brace in Ireland’s 2-0 win over Portugal – a game that also saw Cristiano Ronaldo sent off.
AZ’s Valuation of Troy Parrott
Parrott has 18 goals for club and country this season and even before he made headlines for Ireland, Premier League clubs were showing interest. After scoring 20 goals for AZ last campaign, Leeds United considered making a bid of over €15m for Parrott, but eventually decided to add Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer instead. Leicester City also considered him, but their relegation to the Championship made a move impossible.
AZ sources stress they did not receive a formal bid from any Premier League club last summer and remain relaxed about Parrott’s future heading into the January window. He is contracted until 2029 and he is valued by the club at around €35m, a number that could rise further if Parrott’s form continues.
Parrott struggled for opportunities at Spurs making only four appearances between 2019 and 2024. He was repeatedly sent out on loan, with his most productive spell coming for MK Dons in League One, where he scored ten goals in 2021/22. A return to Tottenham is not on the cards, even though Spurs are in the market for a striker in 2026. GMS has learned Tottenham do not have a buy-back clause as part of the sale terms, but will be entitled to a 20% sell-on.
West Ham and Fulham Monitoring Ireland Hero
London clubs Fulham and West Ham have both discussed Parrott and are currently monitoring his progress. Neither have made a meaningful approach yet, but that could change next year.
Nuno Espirto Santo is pushing West Ham’s hierarchy to add a target man in January. Joshua Zirkzee is one of the leading names, but there is no guarantee Manchester United will sanction an exit as the Dutch striker seeks minutes ahead of the World Cup.
Fulham will look to back Marco Silva in January and with Rodrigo Muniz expected to be sidelined until the New Year, another number nine could arrive at Craven Cottage. During the international break, Fulham owner Shahid Khan held further talks with Silva over his future. Fulham’s preference has always been for Silva to extend, but the Fulham boss has been hesitant to commit up until now. Fulham hope that changes as they head towards 2026 with the Cottagers currently just a point above the relegation zone. The club are prepared to back Silva in the January market.
GMS understands Parrott is not agitating for a mid-season move and is settled at AZ, but his form is making Premier League clubs consider bringing him back to England. And should Ireland qualify for the World Cup, Parrott will have the chance for more heroics, and to put himself in the shop window at the tournament.

Liverpool Ready to Sell Alexis Mac Allister to Fund Adam Wharton Move
Liverpool are ready to sell Alexis Mac Allister in the upcoming transfer window as they look to raise funds for new additions.
Over the last few years, Mac Allister has shown signs of being one of Liverpool’s most important players and one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
However, during the 2025-26 season, the Argentinian international flattered to deceive, falling off a cliff in comparison to his performances during the title-winning campaign.
As a result, Liverpool could now look to cash in as they aim to improve their squad with reinforcements.
If Mac Allister does leave, Liverpool will need to bring in a new midfielder, and they are now eyeing a £100m star.
Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool Hold Meeting to Sign ‘One of the Best Talents’
Liverpool have held talks to secure his signature.
Liverpool Plotting £100m Move
According to a report from journalist Alan Nixon, Liverpool are ready to sell Mac Allister in the transfer window in order to raise cash.
Liverpool are keen to reshape their midfield and will be willing to offload both Curtis Jones and Mac Allister.
Liverpool are interested in signing Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, but the Eagles are hoping to bring in around £100 million to allow him to depart.
As a result, the Reds will need to bring in some funds with Mac Allister and Jones, two players they are willing to offload.
Atletico Madrid are showing an interest in signing Mac Allister, but they are yet to make an offer and are exploring alternative options.
A move for Wharton will likely hinge on a big sale in the middle of the park, while it remains to be seen whether Liverpool would pay £100m.

Wharton a Mac Allister Upgrade
There’s no doubt that bringing Wharton to the club and selling Mac Allister would be a smart move for the Reds, as long as they receive a strong offer for the latter.
The England international is one of the best in the Premier League at progressing the ball from deep, something Liverpool have struggled with of late.
New manager Andoni Iraola would love Wharton, described as a ‘superstar’, but it’s certainly not going to be an easy deal to do.
Other clubs will likely be interested in signing Wharton this summer, while a £100m asking price might deter the Merseyside outfit from making an offer.

Man Utd in Talks to Sign PSG Winger Bradley Barcola
Manchester United have opened talks to sign a new winger ahead of the summer transfer window, and he wants to leave his club.
The Red Devils have been heavily focusing on bringing in midfield additions, but they could also look to reinforce other areas of the pitch.
The signing of a new midfielder was always going to be a priority heading into the window, with Casemiro confirming that he would be leaving the club.
After United secure the signatures of potentially more than one midfielder, attention could turn to strengthening other positions.
It now appears they’re in the market for a new forward, opening talks to bring one to Old Trafford.

Man Utd Open Forward Transfer Talks
According to a report from TEAMtalk, Manchester United have opened talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola ahead of the summer transfer window.
The French international has confirmed his desire to leave PSG after he was disappointed not to start the semi-final and final of the Champions League.
United are among a number of clubs who are interested in the French international, holding talks to be kept informed of his situation.
Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Napoli are among the European clubs who have also held talks, so it’s set to be a competitive race for his signature in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils also face competition from the Premier League, so it won’t be easy to bring him to the club.

Barcola Would be Game-Changing Signing
Como scout Ben Mattinson has branded Barcola ‘one of the best wingers in the world’, and it’s no surprise after the performances we’ve seen for both Paris Saint-Germain and France.
If United can bring him to Old Trafford this summer, it will be a game-changing signing with the young forward capable of performing at a high level in various positions.
Barcola could likely come in and be a guaranteed starter for the Red Devils. The door is open for them to make a move, with him keen on leaving PSG.
Unfortunately, it could be a difficult race to win due to the amount of interest, but after qualifying for the Champions League, they are in a strong position.

USMNT World Cup Star Was Forced Into ‘Weird’ Donald Trump Meeting
World Cup fever has officially hit the United States of America, Canada and Mexico this week as all three host nations got off to a good start in the 48-team tournament.
Mexico recorded a 2-0 win over South Africa, while Canada battled to a 1-1 draw after falling behind against Bosnia. But the biggest winners of the host nations were the USA. Mauricio Pochettino’s side caught everyone off-guard with a stunning performance and 41- victory against Paraguay.
The players finally took centre stage after months of talk about President Donald Trump. The 80-year-old has been heavily involved, and criticised, in the build-up to the biggest competition in world football. Even a current member of the USMNT was left unimpressed by the American leader.
Donald Trump Meeting Labelled ‘Weird’ By USMNT Star
One man who played a part in that dominant World Cup win against Paraguay wasn’t too impressed when he met the President in 2025. Timothy Weah, who came on in the 72nd minute, was part of a Juventus visit to the White House in June last year.
The Italian giants were preparing to take part in the newly formatted Club World Cup, which was hosted in his Weah’s home country. Juventus’ players made a rather awkward-looking visit to the Oval Office before their first game.
With the players standing behind Trump’s desk, Weston McKennie, also of the USMNT, looked baffled when the President asked: “Could a woman make your team, fellas?”
Weah later revealed he was given no choice but to attend the meeting. The wing-back said (per the Metro): “It was all a surprise to me, honestly — they told us that we have to go and I had no choice but to go so I showed up.”

The 26-year-old, son of Ballon d’Or winner George, explained he felt uncomfortable as Trump started speaking about Iran and other political issues while he and his teammates stood in the background. Detailing the ‘weird’ experience, he added:
“I was caught by surprise, honestly. It was a bit weird. When he started talking about the politics with Iran and everything, it’s kind of like, I just want to play football man.”

Weston McKennie Also Had Harsh Words For Trump
McKennie, who was also present alongside his Juventus teammates, was highly critical of President Trump during his first term. More specifically, during the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020.
“I don’t think that Trump is the right one for the job as the president,” the USMNT midfielder said after protests. Trump controversially labelled the movement ‘toxic propaganda’.
US President Donald Trump Handed Controversial World Cup Final Role by FIFA
Trump will now have a big role to play on World Cup final day this July.
McKennie even stated that he could see why some call the American leader ‘racist’. He continued: “I stand by these words. I believe he doesn’t understand the responsibility he has for the entire country. I think he’s ignorant. I don’t support him a bit. I don’t think he’s a man to stand by his word. In my eyes, you can call him racist.”
