Supercomputer Predicts 2026 F1 Drivers’ Championship

Published

on

The curtain has finally fallen on the 2025 Formula 1 season, with Lando Norris claiming his maiden Drivers’ Championship in one of the tightest finishes in years.

Talk has already, however, moved to next season and how the campaign will unfold. With this in mind, a Supercomputer has already predicted the outcome of the 2026 Formula 1 Championship.

Off the back of a season which saw McLaren finally get their hands on the Drivers’ Championship after last claiming it in 2008 when Lewis Hamilton claimed the trophy, talk has moved to how Norris will cope with the task of retaining his title. After holding off Max Verstappen and teammate Oscar Piastri, people will be questioning if he can do it all again.

Verstappen looks brilliant in a difficult car, showing his ability as a driver. Piastri will be hoping for a bit more luck next year after a couple of mishaps in the latter part of the season, and the likes of Ferrari and Mercedes will be looking for improvement too after some challenging moments.

So, what has the Supercomputer produced? Well, a few surprises, of course. Using complex calculations, it has calculated the top 10 of the 2026 Drivers’ Championship. From 10-1, here is how it sees the upcoming season going.

10

Charles Leclerc

Points: 70

Charles Leclerc looks troubled

In 10th is the first surprise. Charles Leclerc had a respectable season this past year, finishing fifth. With Ferrari looking to improve next year, it seems a wild suggestion that the Monégasque driver would struggle so much, especially when he outperformed his teammate, Lewis Hamilton, massively.

Other teams will be looking to improve next year, but to a point where Ferrari struggle so much seems fascinating. Perhaps the Supercomputer knows something we don’t?

9

Carlos Sainz Jr

Points: 72

Carlos Sainz Jr

The Supercomputer is expecting a lot of change next season. Despite this, it does expect Carlos Sainz to hold onto ninth position. The Williams driver showed real class in the second half of the past season, where he claimed two podium finishes. Williams are going from strength to strength and will be looking for a better finish for the Spaniard. However, ninth seems a respectable finish.

8

Lewis Hamilton

Points: 90

Lewis Hamilton

After a difficult first season at Ferrari, Lewis Hamilton will be looking to better his sixth-place finish. According to the Supercomputer, though, this won’t be the case. The seven-time Drivers’ Championship winner has been demoted to eighth for 2026.

It seems that the Supercomputer does not have high hopes for the Ferrari team, with their drivers finishing eighth and 10th respectively. This would be a disaster for the Italian outfit, who will be hoping to get closer to the likes of Red Bull and McLaren at the top of the leaderboard.

7

Fernando Alonso

Points: 216

Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso will be 45 by the time the 2026 season finishes, and according to the Supercomputer, this doesn’t matter one bit. They have the Spanish veteran finishing seventh in his Aston Martin.

The two-time world champion is a wily operator and is still one of the best drivers on the grid. A seventh-place finish, however, relies on whether the team can produce a car that allows the Spaniard to really showcase his ability. In what could be his last season as an F1 driver, a seventh would be a great way to finish an amazing career.

6

Isack Hadjar

Points: 220

Isack Hadjar

Isack Hadjar will take the challenging second seat at Red Bull next season and will look to better his predecessors. Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson, and even Sergio Perez have all struggled in the seat in recent seasons and the young Frenchman will be looking to end that run of poor performances and help Max Verstappen and Red Bull to regain the Constructors’ Championship.

Hadjar showed his ability this season in the Racing Bulls and, by all accounts, the sixth-place finish that the Supercomputer has suggested looks like a reasonable shout.

5

Oscar Piastri

Points: 321

Oscar Piastri

After pushing the 2025 champion all the way last season, Oscar Piastri will be looking to do one better, if not two better, by claiming his maiden title. That is not the case, however, according to the Supercomputer.

They have the McLaren driver down in fifth position, which would be seen as a disappointment both for the Australian and his team. But with McLaren changing engines this year, it could be a year of transition for them.

4

Kimi Antonelli

Points: 346

Kimi Antonelli

Kimi Antonelli lives with big expectations. The young Italian finished seventh in his debut season and showed glimpses of his undoubted potential. The Supercomputer has the Mercedes driver improving to a fourth-place finish next season, which is not beyond believable.

With both Red Bull and McLaren changing engine suppliers in the new year, it could be a season where other teams take advantage. A fourth-place finish at the age of 20 would be brilliant for Antonelli, as he continues his rise to a potential title contender in the future.

3

Lando Norris

Points: 366

Lando Norris

The Supercomputer had the current world champion dropping to third in the Drivers’ Championship. Lando Norris claimed his maiden title with a professional performance in Abu Dhabi, but it seems that the Supercomputer thinks that, although he will be in the title picture once again, he will, unfortunately for him, fall short, 28 points behind the eventual winner.

With a lot of change happening before the new season begins, perhaps this wouldn’t be an awful season for the British team.

2

Max Verstappen

Points: 379

Max Verstappen

According to the Supercomputer, it is another second-place finish for the four-time champion. Max Verstappen will be looking to regain his title next season after losing it to Norris by two points in 2025. But in a similar situation to Norris at McLaren, Red Bull will have to work with new engines, meaning there may be teething issues.

However, if anybody can overcome such issues, it will be the Dutchman. With a 15-point deficit between Verstappen and who the Supercomputer sees as the next champion, it could be that the title goes down to the final race of the season again.

1

George Russell

Points: 394

George Russell

Another British maiden winner is how the Supercomputer sees the 2026 Formula 1 season ending. George Russell has been on the periphery of a title challenge for a number of years now, and will be hoping, with all the changes happening at other teams, that Mercedes’ continuity can give them the edge.

The win would be a huge moment for the British racer, who has shown consistency for a number of years now. To get the victory over Verstappen would add a level of intrigue after their spat a couple of years ago. Even now, it seems their fallout hasn’t been patched up.

A Russell victory would also mean that Formula 1 has had three different winners in three years, which hasn’t happened since Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen, and Lewis Hamilton did it between 2006 and 2008.

Fabrizio Romano Issues Marcus Rashford to Tottenham Transfer Update

Published

Tottenham are being linked with England World Cup attacker Marcus Rashford as they look to continue their busy summer of recruitment. Spurs have wasted no time in this summer window so far, already snapping up three new signings, including three freebies and a statement defensive signing in Jan Paul van Hecke.

The signings will keep coming as Roberto De Zerbi looks to give this Tottenham team a whole new look to ensure there is no third-straight bottom half finish.

A midfield signing appears to be the next priority, but Spurs are also working on other potential deals, and a World Cup Three Lion has emerged as a possible option.

Spurs have been linked with a move for Manchester United and England winger Rashford in recent days. According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal could be on the cards, but there is nothing advanced at this stage.

“Many questions on Marcus Rashford and Tottenham, we had these links on Marcus Rashford and Tottenham and if it’s possible to see this deal happening,” Romano said on his YouTube channel. “If Tottenham can go for Marcus Rashford, if Tottenham is a possibility being considered. My understanding at the moment between Marcus Rashford and Tottenham is that there is nothing advanced, nothing close, nothing realistic as of today.

“Should the situation change I will be here to let you know because the Marcus Rashford situation is an open situation, a situation they have to clarify as soon as possible at Manchester United. There are several things keeping this open for Marcus Rashford but the understanding is at the moment there is nothing concrete or advanced with Tottenham.”

Why Rashford wasn’t signed by Barcelona

Marcus Rashford via Reuters

Rashford played a big part in Barca winning the LaLiga title, scoring 14 and assisting as many across all competitions last season. The England international will have hoped to land a permanent deal on the back of that form, but the Catalan giants did not activate their option to buy.

They did not – and do not – rule out a deal at this stage, but their current priority is to find a new number nine to replace Robert Lewandowski. The Blaugrana are well aware that a striker deal could be very costly, and so they will revisit the Rashford situation if he remains available later in the window. The same transfer stance saw Barca miss out on Bernardo Silva to Real Madrid, but unless they are not pivoting from the current approach, and that could see the price they have to pay for Rashford increase, given the clause is no longer available to them, and it may mean the England international goes elsewhere.

Former two-division UFC champion Jon Jones has sent a message to Dustin Poirier in the wake of the 37-year-old’s arrest at an Atlanta airport on Sunday evening for public drunkenness.

‘The Diamond was taken into custody after threatening a police officer, having been kicked off a plane because he was intoxicated. Footage of the fighter’s arrest has since emerged and quickly gone viral.

Since being charged, Poirier has addressed his situation in a series of social media posts, admitting that he needs to seek treatment for issues with alcohol. If found guilty, the Louisiana native could face up to a year in jail, together with a $1,000 fine.

Poirier retired from the Octagon after losing to Max Holloway at UFC 318 last July. In the days following his arrest, Dustin has opened up about how much he has struggled to adapt to life after fighting.

While reaction to his arrest has been split, Poirier has received plenty of support from inside the MMA world, with names such as Daniel Cormier sending well-wishes to the struggling former interim lightweight champion.

Having retired from the UFC himself last year, pound-for-pound great Jones has now weighed-in on Poirier’s arrest. ‘Bones’ frequently encountered issues with the law across his own career and took to social media to share his thoughts with his former colleague.

“Wanted to write and tell my [expletive] Justin Poirier to keep your head up,” Jones wrote on X, while getting Poirier’s name wrong. “Life happens. This too shall pass. Just keep yourself busy my man, it helps.”

In a separate tweet, Jones expressed his admiration for how honest Poirier had been about his personal struggles since hanging up his gloves.

“I do respect the fact that he’s being honest about his mental state,” remarked Jones.

“I swear, in some weird way, retiring from UFC almost feels like retiring from the military or something. There’s so many similarities. I have conversations with my special forces buddies about this type of stuff all the time. It’s a huge change, or at least it can be.”

Jon Jones Teases UFC Comeback

As if to illustrate how difficult it can be to walk away from the life of a professional fighter, Jones went on to tease a potential comeback of his own, revealing that recent stem cell treatments had helped to combat the arthritis that had initially played a role in convincing him to retire.

Jones is currently training amateur wrestling standout Gable Steveson ahead of his Octagon debut at UFC 329 next month and he hinted that the experience had prompted him to consider his own fighting future.

“Never say never. Right now we are finishing up Gable [Steveson]‘s training camp. He’s looking extraordinary. I’ve been his main training partner, and I’m moving like I never left. Stem cells must be working,” he wrote.

‘I’m Told’ – Top Spurs Transfer Target Wants to Join Arsenal Instead

Published

A Tottenham transfer nightmare could become reality as the search for a new midfielder goes on. Spurs are hoping to land a holding or hybrid midfielder this summer to replace and upgrade on Yves Bissouma, who leaves the club at the end of his contract at the end of this month.

Roberto De Zerbi is being given the chance to overhaul his squad this summer, with Tottenham desperate to avoid a third straight bottom-half finish. Spurs have already made a strong start to the summer, snapping up four signings, including the £52million signing of Brighton centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke.

A midfielder signing looks likely to be next, and Tottenham have a couple of main targets, but there is concerning news about one of them.

Sandro Tonali prefers Arsenal move

Sandro Tonali via Reuters

In a potentially huge blow to Tottenham’s bid to land Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tronali, it is being reported the Italian would prefer to join Arsenal this summer.

The Telegraph’s Luke Edwards has posted on X: “I’m pretty relaxed about the Bruno situation at Newcastle following today’s links to Arsenal. He wants a new contract at #nufc and has done for a while. I’m viewing it through that lens at the moment. I also don’t think Tonali really wants to go to Spurs. I’m told he would prefer Manchester City or Arsenal. As ever let’s wait and see. Any chance Newcastle could sign some new players instead of being linked with current ones leaving!!”

Tottenham have already seen a £75million bid rejected by Newcastle for Tonali, and they are yet to make another offer at this stage. It will be interesting to see if this report is accurate, and indeed whether it leads Spurs elsewhere.

Having said that, the issue for Tonali is that Arsenal and City are less likely to make a move for him this summer, given both teams seem to have other priorities.

Spurs could pivot to Fernandes

Tottenham have also been linked with a move for West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes of late, with Manchester United also keen on the Portugal international. With Newcastle said to want £80million to £90million for Tonali this summer, Spurs may well lean towards Fernandes, especially with the news the former prefers a move to Arsenal.

Fernandes will likely be available for £80million following West Ham’s rejection, and that could be defining when it comes to choosing between the two. Fernandes is also likely to be willing to join any club with European hopes, while Tonali is likely to want a club competing in the Champions League, which Spurs cannot offer.
