Ganduje unhappy over Kwankwaso’s ‘enemy’ remark
Former Kano State Governor and former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed displeasure over comments made about him by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing them as unnecessary and offensive.
This was disclosed by the Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Dr Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, while speaking to journalists.
He said Ganduje personally conveyed to him his unhappiness with Kwankwaso’s remarks.
“Dr. Ganduje told me clearly that he was not happy at all with the comments made by Senator Kwankwaso against him,” Dan’agundi said.
According to him, Ganduje accused Kwankwaso of calling him “maƙiyi”, meaning enemy, while addressing his supporters.
The comment was reportedly made at a time when Kwankwaso was also accusing Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, of planning to take over state institutions for use against political opponents.
“Ganduje made it clear to me that such statements were unnecessary, especially at a time when Kano needs unity, peace, and collective progress,” Dan’agundi explained.
He said Ganduje believes the anticipated return of Governor Abba Yusuf to the APC should be viewed as an opportunity for reconciliation rather than heightened political tension.
“In Ganduje’s view, the return of the Kano State Governor to the APC should serve as a platform for all of them to come together, put aside differences, and focus on moving Kano State forward,” he added.
Dan’agundi also said Ganduje feels that both he and Kwankwaso, considering their age and long political careers, should now act as elder statesmen instead of continuing political rivalry.
“He believes there should be no reason for continued conflict, as both of them have reached a stage where they no longer have personal political ambitions,” he quoted Ganduje as saying.
On the reported plan by Governor Abba Yusuf to rejoin the APC, Dan’agundi described it as a welcome development for the party in Kano State.
“It is a thing of joy for us. All APC leaders, stakeholders, and supporters in Kano State are happy and excited about the Governor’s return,” he said.
He added that preparations to officially receive the governor into the APC were already underway at both national and state levels. However, he said the process had slowed due to the Umrah trip of the Kano APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, and Ganduje’s absence from the country.
“Once they return, a special meeting will be held with His Excellency Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his delegation to conclude the process,” he assured.
Dan’agundi concluded by calling for peace and unity in Kano State.
“We pray that Governor Abba’s entry into the APC will bring lasting peace, progress, and development to Kano State,” he said.

Tinubu till 2031, no vacancy in Presidential Villa – Atiku’s ally dumps ADC
Aslam Aliyu, a political ally of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said there is no vacancy in the Presidential Villa until 2031.
Aliyu said President Bola Tinubu will emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement she released in Abuja, announcing her resignation from the ADC and defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Aliyu called the opposition party a “hoax.”
Aliyu also showed her support for Tinubu, saying her choice came after many years of working with the opposition, which she said did not offer a real plan for the country’s progress.
“After almost twenty years of working hard to make progress, it’s very clear that the opposition doesn’t have a real plan for development or a practical and lasting solution to save the country,” she said.
Aliyu said the opposition group didn’t have trust within its own members.
She also said the ADC didn’t have a real plan for the country, arguing that their approach was just criticizing the federal government without giving any real solutions.
She said, “Nigeria is fed up with political figures who only take photos and act like they’re filming, but don’t really care about the country.”
Aliyu asked her followers to become members of the APC and said that President Tinubu will win another term in 2027.
She said, “There are no available rooms in Aso Rock Villa because President Tinubu will win the presidential election in 2027, thanks to Almighty Allah.”

Osun Guber: NOA urges vigilance, seeks traditional rulers support
Osun State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, has urged residents to remain security conscious in view of the prevailing security challenges across the country.
The agency also called for greater collaboration with traditional institutions to promote peaceful civic engagement ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The State Director of the agency, Adebiyi Adefarasin Stephen, made the appeal on Tuesday during an advocacy visit to the Olowu of Kuta, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama, where he led the agency’s management team on a sensitisation programme.
Adefarasin said the visit formed part of efforts to mobilise traditional institutions in support of voter education and to encourage peaceful participation in the electoral process before the 2026 governorship poll in Osun State.
He also stressed the importance of traditional rulers in promoting civic responsibility, peaceful participation and national values at the grassroots, describing them as critical partners in community mobilisation.
The delegation comprised Community Orientation and Mobilisation Officers, COMOs, from Iwo, Ayedire and Olaoluwa Local Government Areas, alongside the second-in-command of the WAI Brigade, Osun State Command.
According to the NOA director, the advocacy visit also provided an opportunity to sensitise the palace on the agency’s flagship National Values Charter, aimed at strengthening patriotism and responsible citizenship.
“The people of Osun State should remain security conscious in view of the current security realities in the country. We urge residents to embrace peaceful coexistence and active civic participation,” he said.
Responding, Oba Adekunle Oyelude Makama commended the National Orientation Agency under the leadership of Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu, for initiating the advocacy programme.
The monarch pledged the support of the Kuta Kingdom towards ensuring a peaceful, credible and values-driven governorship election in Osun State.
He also called on the Federal Government to prioritise funding for the agency as a first-line charge to enable it to discharge its mandate effectively and efficiently.
The advocacy visit forms part of the NOA’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders across Osun State to strengthen voter education, promote national values and encourage peaceful participation in the 2026 governorship election.
