Tottenham defender Cristian Romero was seen in tears after picking up an injury against Sunderland, and reliable journalist Alasdair Gold has now provided an update on his issue.
Things went from bad to worse for Spurs against Sunderland as Romero collided with Antonin Kinsky, with both players needing treatment for a lengthy period.
Romero certainly came off worse, and despite getting up and walking, he was seen in tears as he slowly made his way to the side of the pitch to be substituted.
Spurs succumbed to a 1-0 defeat against Sunderland, meaning their hopes of surviving the drop have taken a double blow, with Romero also suffering an injury.
It’s a worrying time for Tottenham, and new manager Roberto De Zerbi needs to find a way of turning things around drastically with just six Premier League games remaining.

Reporting on X, Football.London journalist Gold has confirmed that Romero’s season with Tottenham is now over after picking up a knee injury against Sunderland.
GIVEMESPORT correspondent Ben Jacobs reported that Romero had a scan today, and looks set to be out for up to eight weeks. Although he could be available to play a part in the World Cup, Argentina might not be willing to take a risk on the defender.
