This year’s drama-filled series of ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ is finishing on a similar note as retired boxing legend David Haye threw the live final into complete chaos.
Boos rang out at the London-based final as hosts Ant and Dec had to step in to thwart the ex-athlete’s outburst. Haye’s frustrations were aimed at Waterloo Road and Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas, who has been involved in various spats throughout the reality show.
I’m a Celebrity: Jimmy Bullard’s Heartbreaking Reason For Quitting Led to Huge Row
Jimmy Bullard is expected to lose 20% of his fee for appearing on ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’, but he had a sad reason for his exit.
Haye, 45, was accused of bullying Thomas during their shared spell in the South Africa jungle. The show was filmed last year, but has only just been screened for viewers. Thomas has even claimed he needed therapy in the aftermath of his treatment by the former heavyweight champion.
David Haye Booed During Live Final Outburst
Another ongoing feud from the show is between Thomas and ex-Premier League footballer Jimmy Bullard. The latter decided to quit mid-trial despite knowing that his campmate would also face elimination, sparking a huge row.
While Thomas remained on the programme due to the circumstances, several people have claimed ITV’s version of the argument with Bullard was heavily edited. That was backed up by Dec’s rebuttal towards Haye’s rant, as he said some of the footage was ‘unbroadcastable’:
“There was a lot of stuff that was said that was unbroadcastable which is why – look we’ll get into all of this later in the show, you’ll all have a right to reply.”
That was in response to Haye getting involved unprompted during the final. He alleged that Thomas had called Bullard ‘the c-word’ multiple times. As the crowd booed loudly, he shouted towards the soap star on stage:
“Do you still think you deserve to win this after calling Jimmy the C-word a couple of times? Do you think you deserve to win it?”
“Don’t you think you should ask Jimmy whether he thinks he deserves to win it?”
Adam Thomas Broke Silence on Jimmy Bullard Row
With campmates all giving their versions of events in recent days, Thomas decided to release a statement on social media. Taking accountability for the ‘unbroadcastable’ nature of the scenes, he posted to his followers on Instagram:
“I have to say, I’ve seen some comments going around about things that some of my fellow campmates said during the row between me and Jimmy, and I just want to make one thing clear, I completely stand by them. Not everything was shown, and honestly, a lot of it probably couldn’t be aired anyway, I’ll hold my hands up to that. So I understand where they were coming from, and I respect their honesty.”
