Eight Tottenham Players Can Follow Cristian Romero Out Of The Club
Cristian Romero has shown his true colours, much to the disgust of the Tottenham Hotspur fans.
Spurs need everyone on board on Sunday, everyone pulling in the right direction for what Roberto De Zerbi described as bigger than last year’s Europa League final win.
And he’s not wrong.
De Zerbi said: “Sunday is the final for Tottenham. Not Bilbao against Manchester United. The most important game is Sunday.
“Now we play for something more than a trophy. This is for the pride of the club and history. A trophy you can win and get one trophy more but this is more important. This is about dignity.”
There are nine different scenarios for the final day of the Premier League
Tottenham are in a fight for their Premier League lives. Spurs have been a top flight club since 1978, a founding member of the Premier League, one of the so-called big six.
But if they lose to Everton on Sunday and West Ham beat Leeds United, the Lilywhites will be relegated to the Championship.
There are nine different scenarios for the two crucial matches on the final day of the season and only in one of them do Tottenham go down. It is in their hands to get out of the mess they have put themselves in.
The players are not wholly to blame. Big questions need to be asked in the close season of the powers that be behind the scenes and protests against the ownership are planned for after the final whistle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – regardless of the outcome.
But the players have to take responsibility at 4pm on Sunday and get the job done come what may.
Romero may be injured and unable to contribute, but the leader, the club captain, the man everyone in the squad looks to should be going through the pain with his teammates, kicking every ball, heading every ball, winning every tackle with them from the sidelines. But he won’t.
Why not? Because he’s out of the country, back in his homeland of Argentina, watching his boyhood club Belgrano in their final match of the season against River Plate.
It’s a huge match for them, the Argentine Primera Division final. But the club he plays for now, the club that pays his wages, the club for whom he was handed the great honour of being club captain are also involved in a huge match with desperate consequences.
The fact he will not be in north London on Sunday is an absolute disgrace. De Zerbi said he “100%” understands the fans’ frustrations that Romero will not be present for the game but also said that the Argentine has “been correct with me from when I started to now”.
Romero tears were not for Tottenham Hotspur
When he went off injured in tears in that game with Sunderland that ended his season, I cynically felt the tears were selfish ones and not for Tottenham, that he was upset he might miss the World Cup. Turns out I was right.
If Romero cared about the club he would be here on Sunday. Everyone knows how important this game is.
There is a common consensus that he will leave this summer, a gentleman’s agreement if you will that he will be allowed to go should an adequate offer come in. Something in the region of £50million to £60million should do it.
He is clearly a hugely talented player – a World Cup winner no less, but as everyone has seen, he can be a liability at times and selling for a good fee is the right move all round.
Spurs will go on without him and probably be better off. He has played his last game for the club, but he’s not the only one.
De Zerbi needs a complete reset and refresh this summer and plenty more mist follow Romero out of the door.
Ben Davies and Yves Bissouma have already played this last games for the club, with their contracts ending this summer and neither likely to play any part on Sunday.
Guglielmo Vicario is another who has probably played his last game too. It would be a surprise to see him replace Antonin Kinsky for the final game of the season.
More players need to follow Romero out of the Tottenham exit door
Radu Dragusin needs to go, he’s not up to par and will be replaced this summer, while Pape Matar Sarr should probably move on for his own sake too. It’s also time for Richarlison to depart, hopefully after doing what he did so well at Sunday’s opponents Everton in the past and scoring a goal to rescue Tottenham from the brink of humiliation.
Joao Palhinha has been hit and miss and while De Zerbi has admitted he wants to sign him permanently, I’m not so sure he’s worth the money to be spent on him with the likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall waiting in the wings. Don’t get me started on fellow loanee Randal Kolo Muani…his time should have been up weeks ago.
Romero has to go. Thanks for everything you’ve done, but you’ve tarnished your reputation right at the death. And eight players need to follow him out of the door and never play for Spurs again.

WWE to Add New Member to The Vision After Logan Paul’s Injury
It’s been just over a year since The Vision formed in WWE, but Paul Heyman’s faction hasn’t exactly had the best of luck. Significant injuries have halted the progress of both Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, with the latter still sidelined.
Now, Logan Paul is set to be out for several months after tearing his triceps at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Paul and Austin Theory competed in the main event of the TV special over the weekend, putting the World Tag Team Championships on the line against the Street Profits. Paul and Theory successfully defended the titles against one of WWE’s most successful tag teams, but it came at a cost. Paul suffered his triceps tear during an aerial spot with Angelo Dawkins, which provided enough of a distraction for Theory to pick up the win uninterrupted.
WWE Plans For The Vision After Logan Paul’s Injury
With Paul sidelined, WWE has already moved to make on-screen changes. WWE has already confirmed that any two members of The Vision will be able to defend the tag belts. In addition, according to a backstage report, the new Vision member is set to join the faction’s ranks shortly.
Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer leaked the promotion’s plans during his review of this week’s WWE Raw on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer stated that The Vision were planning to bring in a new female member in a somewhat unexpected storyline twist.
“They’re going to get […] Maxxine [Dupri],” Meltzer revealed. “Which they pretty much teased on the show tonight. If you watch […] cause I mean, they did the thing where he [Theory] was leaving, and then he walks by Maxxine and Tozawa and Otis and then, all of a sudden, she goes, ‘I’ve got to go now.’ So the idea is when he left, she was leaving. But it’s like you’re not supposed to know that they’re leaving together.”
Maxxine Dupri was one of the surprise packages of 2025. After breaking away from the Chad Gable-led Alpha Academy faction with long-time allies Otis and Akira Tozawa, Dupri began to build momentum as an in-ring competitor. The mentorship of WWE veteran Natalya bolstered Dupri, transforming her from a ringside supporter to an aggressive challenger. This led to one of the biggest upsets of the year, as Dupri toppled Becky Lynch to become WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion last November. This followed two previous victories over Lynch via count-out and disqualification.
But since losing the title back to Lynch, and losing a feud to former mentor Natalya, Dupri’s momentum has slowed significantly. The 29-year-old hasn’t wrestled on Raw since March. But it seems that her recruitment to The Vision is about to see her featured in a major way moving forward.
Dupri was spotted in the background of several backstage segments with Austin Theory during her feud with Natalya. It implied that The Vision member was actively hoping to pry her away from Otis and Tozawa to bolster his own group’s waning numbers. Dupri will be desperate to recapture the momentum that won her the Intercontinental title. Notably, she is also lacking guidance following Natalya’s betrayal. Her alignment with The Vision might just be the move to positively change her direction.

Every Premier League Club’s Total Prize Money and Earnings in 2025-26
It’s been revealed how much prize money every club competing in the 2025-26 Premier League season has earned.
While all 20 clubs receive a certain amount of money depending on where they finish in the Premier League table, that doesn’t paint the whole picture in terms of their total earnings.
Arsenal won the title for the first time in 22 years, eventually finishing seven points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
Manchester United, Aston Villa and Liverpool sealed the three remaining Champions League spots, while Bournemouth and Sunderland secured a place in next season’s Europa League. Brighton clinched a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifiers, while Chelsea missed out on Europe altogether.
And at the opposite end of the table, Tottenham narrowly avoided relegation at the expense of West Ham, who join Burnley and Wolves in the Championship.
The Athletic have calculated how much prize money every Premier League team earned this season based on information provided by various club sources across the division.
Every club received an equal share of £31.9 million (UK) and £56.6 million (international) for competing in the Premier League. However, the clubs then received different amounts based on facility fees and merit payments.
Lowest Earners (20th-11th)
It won’t come as a huge surprise to learn that Wolves were the lowest earners this season, closely followed by Burnley. However, the two relegated sides both pocketed a cool £117.7 million and £118.1 million, respectively.
West Ham’s total tally was £128.6 million, despite failing to beat the drop, while Tottenham banked £135.8 million.
Other clubs in the bottom half of the prize money table are Newcastle (£154.2 million), Everton (£147.7 million) and Leeds United (£144.5 million).

Highest Earners (10th-1st)
Arsenal earned just shy of £200 million during their Premier League title-winning campaign.
Manchester City (£192.5 million) and Manchester United (£191.5 million) were only separated by £1 million, while Aston Villa needed £182.6 million.
Liverpool were the red-hot Premier League favourites back in August but could only manage a fifth-place finish under Arne Slot. The Reds still earned £181.8 million in total, though.
Sunderland exceeded all expectations and took home a huge £168.2 million, while Chelsea still got £162.6 million despite a hugely underwhelming campaign.

Surprise English Club Clear Favourites to Sign Jamie Vardy With Wrexham Also in Frame
A surprise English club has emerged as the clear favourites to sign Jamie Vardy, who is leaving Cremonese when his contract expires this summer.
The former England striker made the emotional decision to leave Leicester City last summer and make the move to the Serie A outfit.
Cremonese were hoping that Vardy would score enough goals for them to retain their status in Italy’s top tier. La Cremo enjoyed a great start to the campaign as they tasted defeat in just four of their opening 14 matches.
A horror run of form saw them slip into the relegation zone, though. Despite winning two of their final three matches, the club finished 18th and dropped back down to Serie B.
Vardy, who recorded seven goals and three assists in 29 matches this season and became the first English player to win the Serie A Player of the Month award, has made the decision to leave the club following their relegation and will become a free agent.
Clear Favourites Emerge in Race to Sign Jamie Vardy
BBC Sport have reported that Vardy, now 39 years old, is still enjoying his football and believes he can continue playing at a high level.
BettingLounge have now revealed the 12 favourites to sign Vardy this summer, with a return to the United Kingdom on the cards.
Hull City, who secured their promotion to the Premier League with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the Championship playoff final, have been given odds of 28/1.
Hearts are on the lookout for a new striker after losing Laurence Shankland to Rangers and could turn to Vardy as his replacement.
West Ham United, who will play in England’s second tier next season after suffering relegation from the Premier League, have been given odds of 10/1.
Wrexham are fifth favourites to sign Vardy, while Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers are fourth and third respectively.
The bookies think he could make a sensational return to Leicester, who he played for between 2012-2025, scoring 200 goals in 500 appearances in the process.
Sheffield Wednesday, the club who Vardy supported as a child and still does today, are the clear favourites. Vardy played for the Owls in his youth before being released at 15 years old. They are currently leading the race for his signature, but whether they can get a deal done remains to be seen.

Vardy and his wife, Rebekah, have a large family with six children in total. They have had three children together, as well as one daughter from Jamie’s previous relationship and two children from Rebekah’s previous relationships.
Speaking to SPORTbible earlier this month, Vardy said he wants to keep playing for as long as he can, and then intends to spend time with his kids after retiring. He said:
“While my legs are still saying they’re fine, I’ll carry on. But there will come a time when the legs say ‘this ain’t happening anymore’ and that’s when I definitely need to call it quits.”
He added: “The main thing for me is, you sacrifice so much during a football career on things you miss out. And I think when it comes to, I’m finished with football side of things, I want to make sure that I can spend some quality time with my wife and kids.
“It’s something that I’ve missed – big chunks of them growing up at different ages and things like that. So I don’t want to be missing anymore. The kids, they love coming to watch me play football, and it’s a real enjoyment for them.”
