WWE Hall of Famer Shares Heartbreaking Health Update

Published

on

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has shared a heartbreaking update on his health. The 74-year-old was the voice of the company’s Attitude Era providing the soundtrack for battles involving the likes of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and The Undertaker.

Ross is widely considered to be the greatest announcer in professional wrestling history and was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Austin in 2007. In addition to his commentary duties, Ross also served as the promotion’s Head of Talent Relations for a number of years.

‘Good Ol’ JR’ worked for WWE across various stints between 1993 and 2019 before departing for rival organisation All Elite Wrestling [AEW] later that same year.

Since arriving in AEW, Ross has battled a variety of medical issues that have limited his time behind the microphone. The beloved commentator has lived with Bell’s palsy for decades, but also had to battle skin cancer.

Ross received the all-clear from cancer in late 2021, but he is now being assessed by his doctors for a condition about which he admits: “There is no cure”.

Speaking on the latest edition of his ‘Grillin’ JR’ podcast, Ross informed listeners of the concerning news he had recently received. Revealing that he would be reducing his workload, JR explained:

“[The schedule reduction] gives me a chance to get my ailments addressed. I had a positive doctor’s appointment with my neurologist – everyone’s getting in on it, man. They took a bunch of blood, ran some tests.

“They’re worried about dementia or Alzheimer’s,” stated Ross bluntly.

Dementia is the medical term for several diseases that affect memory, thinking, as well as the ability to perform daily activities.

Refusing to let the situation get him down, the veteran announcer reasoned:

“I’m like, ‘What the hell are you gonna do about it? There’s not a cure’.”

Ross concluded:

“If there’s any medicine I should be taking preventatively, tell me what they are and I’ll do it. I’m going through a lot of tests now. I don’t feel bad at all. I feel great, actually. But you know…getting old is a b***h.”

Addressing his upcoming absences from AEW programming, Ross suggested that fellow WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley could take his place. Foley recently signed with AEW after cutting ties with WWE due to his issues with the company’s relationship with US President Donald Trump.

Despite his current health situation, Ross has vowed to appear at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view this weekend. The show takes place on Sunday evening at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.

Donald Trump has caused a major stir with his post on social media after winning a golf tournament at his own course.

Trump, a huge golf fan, competed at the Senior and Super Senior Men’s Club Championship at his Bedminster golf course in New Jersey this weekend.

The 80-year-old carded a two-under 70 to win the championship in both categories. It was his 43rd club championship title across his collection of golf courses.

As per Sky Sports, the US President won both titles previously in 2023, and recorded a sole Senior Championship victory in 2024.

Footage on social media emerged of Trump being given his trophy.

Taking to social media after his victory, Trump taunted his opponents and bragged about his ‘talent’. He wrote on Truth Social: “The Winning Shot in the Bedminster Club Championship! Thank you very much to all of those who participated.

“I won with a score of 70, and am so honored in that, unlike the rest of the field, I’m given very little time to practice, because I’m focused on many other things. It’s called TALENT, and I have it, and they don’t!”

Alongside the caption, Trump included a video of his ‘winning shot’; an impressive chip onto the green which landed a few feet away from the cup.

Trump’s post has not gone down well on social media. One said: “The world’s biggest cheater, poor loser, & narcissist, is literally followed around by a film crew. Imagine worshipping a liar like this,” while another commented: “It appears that the US is run by a spoilt eight year old child.”

A third commented: “There’s no way in hell he shot 70, no way in hell… unless he cheated. Of course he cheated, it’s what he does, it’s all he f******’ does…”

Former Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture James Moore said: “In every way, he is the model of what I am teaching my son not to be: vile, small, cruel, ignorant, petty, corrupt. And he models it daily.”

While Mehdi Hasan, a British-American journalist with 2.2 million followers on X, wrote: “No previous president in history has ever spoken like this. If someone in your social circle spoke like this, you would distance yourself from them. Over 70 million people voted for this guy. I will never ever get over that.”

Trump has long been accused of cheating on the golf course. American sports writer Rick Reilly wrote in his book, titled Commander in Cheat:

“At Winged Foot, where Trump is a member, the caddies got so used to seeing him kick his ball back onto the fairway they came up with a nickname for him: Pele.”

Earlier this year, it was claimed that Trump had racked up a cost of $138,600,000 for US taxpayers from playing golf since returning to office.

Former WWE Superstar EC3 Worries Fans as Footage Goes Viral

Former WWE Superstar EC3 has sparked concern among wrestling fans as footage of his entrance at an indie event for ASW Canada has gone viral.

The four-time 24/7 champion was competing against Leon Lokombo for the ASW Heavyweight Championship. But the 43-year-old caught everyone’s attention before even reaching the ring, with his first few steps into the venue getting worried fans talking online.

Comments quickly flooded in as the TNA star didn’t look in the best condition of his career.

EC3 Sparks Concern With Wrestling Entrance

Introduced by the ring announcer as the ‘Top One Percent’, EC3 looked extremely uncomfortable when walking towards the squared circle. Along with his limp, the veteran appeared to have a pained expression across his face.

Some fans pointed out his bloated stomach and overall physique. EC3, however, appeared determined to remain in character. Still, the final part of his entrance saw him resume limping after briefly posing for the crowd.

He was recently absent from TNA television, and was questioned by writer Mike Johnson. To which he replied: “Michael, I was piledriven through both a table and spiked on an open chair. That was after Eric Young stomped on my d**k 17 times. Those are wounds that require some time and solitude to regroup and strategise.”

Fans have now expressed concern after seeing the clip, which has more than two million views on X. One claimed the ex-WWE star was trying to keep his struggles under wraps, saying:

“Trying to hide his hands shaking by going into his character pose is scary as hell. Hope someone close to him reaches out and gets him the help he needs.”

Another suggested pain in his back and glutes could be the source of his problems: “Is it me or is he not moving around very well? Stiffness and pain in the lower back and glutes.”

Others weren’t convinced he should’ve been out there in the first place, with one saying: “Does not look in condition to perform,” and another adding: “This is so hard to watch.”

“Dude’s 43 and moves like he’s 70,” was a less sympathetic fan view. Regardless of any theories surrounding the health of EC3, most fans were quick to wish him well.

Ipswich Town are closing in on a deal to sign Burnley midfielder Florentino Luis on a permanent move, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.

The Tractor Boys have had a major summer of change after manager Kieran McKenna stepped down following a third promotion in four seasons at the helm, helping the team back to the Premier League. Gary O’Neil was brought in as his replacement, and the club have so far made eight first-team signings, including deals for striker Emerson, forward Daizen Maeda, and goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen.

But the club are still keen to make more additions before the Premier League season starts in three weeks, and the club are now close to a new addition in midfield.

Luis, who has been described as ‘exceptional’, joined Burnley on loan with an obligation to buy from Benfica last summer, with the club agreeing to pay around £20m overall.

The Portuguese midfielder made 31 appearances in the Premier League as the club fell down to the Championship following a disappointing campaign, but he is now set to depart the club for a return to the top flight.

GIVEMESPORT sources understand that Ipswich are close to agreeing a deal to bring the combative midfielder to Portman Road for a fee in the region of £17m. Ipswich are now working on agreeing personal terms with the player, before a medical will be scheduled.

GIVEMESPORT understands that newly-promoted side Hull City have also been in advanced talks over a deal for the 26-year-old, but they are now out of the race and will pursue alternative targets.

Luis had previously made 183 appearances for Benfica before making the move to England, where he won two league titles.

Ipswich Strengthening for 26/27 Season

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Gary O'Neil on the touchline

Ipswich have had a busy window so far, and the expectation is that they will be pushing to battle against relegation in better fashion than they did two seasons ago.

The club have spent around £85m so far to bring in eight players across a number of positions. Abdul Fatawu, Cedric Kipre, Chuba Akpom, and Issa Diop all have previous Premier League experience, while Emerson, Scherpen, and Maeda all have experience at the highest level.

The squad is stronger than last season, and there is expected to be more to come before the September 1st deadline, with Luis now looking likely to arrive.
