2027: NDC fraudulently extorted aspirants during primaries – Kenneth Okonkwo alleges

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Kenneth Okonkwo, has alleged that the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, is the greatest fraud ever in politics.

Okonkwo made the allegation while fielding questions in an interview on Symfoni TV.

According to him, people who left the ADC in Enugu State claimed they were fraudulently extorted during the party’s primary election.

“I can tell you without mincing words that NDC is the greatest fraud that has ever happened.

“Aspirants in my state who left ADC for the NDC, called to tell me after the primary that those who wanted to be House of Representatives members, after paying their fees, were told they were going to pay a bribe of 10 million naira, and they paid.

“Those who wanted to be senators were told they would pay 20 million naira and they had to pay. And after that, they still collected their money and failed them. These are real aspirants under NDC,” he said.

Court adjourns ADC leadership dispute case in Sokoto over procedural error

A Federal High Court in Sokoto has adjourned the hearing of a leadership dispute within the Sokoto State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) until June 19, 2026.

The case was adjourned after lawyers raised concerns that some court documents served on the defendants were not properly signed by court registry officials.

Counsel for the first defendant, Sulaiman Usman, told the court that there was a procedural error in the documents served on his clients.

He said, “The right thing should be done to enable us to respond appropriately. What happened is a clear procedural error.”

Lawyers representing the plaintiffs and other defendants agreed that the issue should be corrected.

Justice Ahmad Gama Mahmud questioned how the mistake occurred and ordered that the properly signed documents be served on all parties.

After the corrected documents were issued, the judge warned court officials against similar mistakes in the future and fixed June 19 for the next hearing.

The lawsuit challenges the leadership of the ADC in Sokoto State, with the plaintiffs disputing the claims of individuals who are currently presenting themselves as the party’s state chairman and secretary.

2027: Presidential victory will go to either APC or NDC – Sam Amadi rules out ADC

Former Chairman of the Nigeria Electricity Regulation Commission, NERC, Sam Amadi, has claimed that only the ruling All Progressives Congress or the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, can win the 2027 presidential election.

Ruling out the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Amadi suggested that an assumingly silly suit could deprive the party of opportunity to be on the ballot in 2027.

Also describing ADC as a mini APC, Amadi tasked chieftains of the party to worry about their status.

In a series of posts on X, Amadi wrote: “In my view, only two parties can win: the ruling Party or the one with Peter Obi. the ruling party and the alternative. So far, ADC is a mini-APC.

“Will @ADCNig be on the ballot? In Nigeria, don’t underestimate the power of a silly suit? For now, ADC members should worry.”

Recently primary elections by the APC produced President Bola Tinubu as the presidential election of the APC while Obi was elected candidate of the NDC.
