We know those behind court order that deregistered ADC – Party spokesman
The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, says they know the people responsible for the court order that deregistered the ADC and other political parties.
Abdullahi made this statement on Monday when he featured in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television.
He was reacting to the court order which instructed the deregistration of the ADC, Accord Party and others from participating in the 2027 general elections.
“We know the person behind the Federal High Court judgment that deregistered the ADC. The person or the individual who is championing this, works in the office of the Chief of Staff to the President.
“He’s a former House of Representatives member from the South-East. His name is there. They are not hiding.
“Secondly, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, who was the second defendant in the case a few days ago, suddenly emerged as a plaintiff. What an absurdity! In a case that you are a defendant, then suddenly you woke up and became a plaintiff?
“Then the question that we ask him is, what is the injury that these individuals who call themselves former legislative forum will suffer if ADC and these other parties contest election in 2027? Of course, maybe the breakfast they are enjoying will come to an end,” he said.

ADC: Why Atiku-Amaechi ticket will defeat Tinubu in 2027 – Bolaji Abdullahi
The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has expressed confidence that the party’s presidential ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Abdullahi described the Atiku-Amaechi ticket as a formidable team capable of providing better leadership and winning the election.
According to him, all the aspirants who contested the ADC presidential primary possessed qualities that would enable them to perform better than the current administration.
“We believe that everybody who was running as an aspirant on the platform of the ADC, whether it’s Atiku or Rotimi Amaechi or Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, will do far better than what President Bola Tinubu is doing,” he said.
Abdullahi added that the emergence of Atiku as the party’s presidential candidate and Amaechi as his running mate has strengthened the party’s chances ahead of the 2027 polls.
He also said the ADC would be on the ballot in the 2027 general election and disclosed that the party would soon formally unveil its presidential ticket to Nigerians.
The ADC spokesman further maintained that the party conducted a credible primary election. Amaechi, who contested the presidential primary, lost to Atiku before being announced as the party’s vice-presidential candidate on Monday.
Political parties have continued to consolidate their positions ahead of the 2027 general election. President Bola Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, while Atiku will contest on the ADC platform. Peter Obi is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.
Tinubu won the 2023 presidential election with over eight million votes, while Obi and Atiku secured more than six million votes each.

Deregistration: ADC demands arrest of judge who gave judgment
The National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Bolaji Abdullahi, has called for the arrest of Justice Peter Lifu, who gave the judgment that deregistered the ADC and four other political parties.
Abdullahi made this call on Monday during a live appearance in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
Recall that Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately deregister the ADC, Accord Party and others from participating in the 2027 general elections.
Reacting, the ADC mouthpiece said, “Justice Lifu should be arrested. The Appeal Court said he should not act until the case is heard on October 27.
“The judge is acting in contempt of court, which is a criminal act. What basis did they deliver the judgment?
“So, for us in the African Democratic Congress, what we are convinced that they know is that what they have done has no leg to stand on,” Abdullahi said.

PDP sweeps Adamawa polls, wins all 21 LGAs, 226 wards
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has announced the results of the outstanding Numan Local Government Area (LGA) election on Monday evening, declaring the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Zidon Nzanyopwa, as the winner.
The electoral officer who supervised the Numan election, Sani Ahmed, said Nzanyopwa polled 19,174 votes, against the 5,676 received by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bio Alexander, and the 4,178 polled by the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Nancy Nelson.
The Numan election was held on Monday morning and afternoon after it was postponed from Saturday, June 13, when elections were conducted in the other 20 LGAs, from which it became publicly known by Monday afternoon that the PDP had cleared the polls.
The chairman of ADSIEC, Mohammed Umar, announcing the overall results of the election late Monday evening in Yola, confirmed that the PDP won not only in all 21 LGAs but also in all 226 wards.
This means that all chairmen and vice chairmen of the 21 local government councils, as well as all councillors across the 226 wards, are members of the PDP.
The ADSIEC chairman thanked the people of Adamawa for turning out during the election to exercise their voting rights and for doing so in a peaceful manner.
DAILY POST reports that Adamawa State, which is currently governed by an APC governor, is to have PDP leaders at the local government level, as the new leaders had been endorsed for the election as PDP candidates earlier in the year before Governor Ahmadu Fintiri defected from PDP to APC.
