No difference between Tinubu, Obi, Kwankwaso, they’re part of Nigeria’s problem – Valentine Ozigbo
Former Anambra State governorship candidate and founder of the Valiant Movement, Valentine Ozigbo, has said there is little difference between Nigeria’s leading political figures, including President Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing them as part of the country’s current problems.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday, Ozigbo said Nigeria’s political challenges cut across party lines, insisting that wrongdoing is not limited to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He argued that there is a widespread lack of morality in Nigerian politics and expressed disappointment in the country’s political leadership, regardless of party affiliation.
According to him, young Nigerians should stop placing their hopes solely on established political figures, many of whom, he said, have contributed to the nation’s challenges.
Ozigbo urged the younger generation to take a more active role in shaping the country’s future, stressing that they would ultimately be responsible for rebuilding Nigeria.
He added that he has lost confidence in the older generation’s ability to deliver the level of transformation needed to address the country’s problems.
Ozigbo said: “I’m not exonerating APC. I’m not defending APC. I never went in to APC to applaud what I see in APC. A lot of evils happen in Nigeria, in APC, Labour Party, NDC, in all of them.
“There’s dearth of morality in politics in Nigeria. Forget who’s in power. As a matter of fact, I don’t even see much difference in all these people running for elections.
“There’s no difference between Tinubu, Obi, and Kwankwaso and co. That’s what I see; they are problems right now.
“I am saying this because the younger generation needs to wake up and stop outsourcing their destiny to people who, in some cases, have contributed to the problems of Nigeria, while expecting them to fix it.
“We need to remind young people that they are the ones who will ultimately rebuild this country. I have lost confidence in the older generation to drive the kind of change Nigeria needs.”

ZLP deregistration: ‘This judgement will now expose you’ – Nwanyanwu tell Justice Lifu, Federal High Court
The National Chairman and presidential candidate of the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, Dan Nwanyanwu, has said that the ruling delivered against his party and four others by the Federal High Court will end up exposing all that has been allegedly going on in that particular court.
He described Justice Peter Lifu’s ruling, which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to immediately de-register the parties as a travesty of justice.
DAILY POST reported on Monday that Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, has ordered INEC to immediately deregister the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Accord, ZLP and others from participating in the 2027 general elections over alleged constitutional breaches.
Justice Lifu issued the order while delivering judgment in a suit filed by a group of former lawmakers in the country.
By the judgment, former Vice President and Presidential candidate of the ADC Atiku Abubakar has no platform to stand for the forthcoming presidential election.
Similarly, Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke billed to re-contest in the August 15 governorship election on the platform of Accord Party has been kicked out of the race.
The Court of Appeal has stayed proceedings in this matter. However, despite being aware of the order, Justice Peter Lifu went ahead this morning, after issuing notices for parties to appear in court, and delivered judgment.
Speaking about the judgement on Arise News, Nwanyanwu said, “What happened today is travesty of justice. What happened today can never be accommodated in the legal practice. Without going into too much details, the proceedings in this court has been stayed by the Court of Appeal, and this particular judge, Peter Lifu, wanted to give judgment on the fifth of this month, and when he saw the stay, he couldn’t deliver the judgment. We were in court that day.
“Just this morning, about 9 o’clock, he sent notices to all the parties to be in court, and he gave the judgment. So you ask yourself, is there no more respect to the hierarchy of courts? In fact, his attention was drawn to the appeal. His attention was drawn to the proceedings in the Court of Appeal.
“He said, ‘Yes, I know, yes, I know,’ and he chose to ignore it. That is irresponsible with the greatest respect. It is something that will now expose all that has been going on within the judiciary, particularly the federal high court.”

Crisis brews in Kwara APC as elders trade words over Danladi-Salihu’s governorship ambition
There appears to be serious acrimony among elders and other stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kwara State over the emergence of Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, as the party’s 2027 governorship candidate, DAILY POST reports.
Indications to this effect emerged at a press conference held in Ilorin on Monday by some party elders and stakeholders, who condemned the choice of Danladi-Salihu as the APC’s 2027 governorship candidate, describing him as lacking the capability, competence, and charisma to fly the party’s flag.
Shortly after the group’s outburst, another group dismissed the earlier rejection of Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, who is widely regarded as Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s preferred candidate among party members in the state.
According to the aggrieved group, “the APC candidate does not represent the strongest political option available to the party to win the 2027 governorship race in the state.”
The party elders warned that unless President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the national leadership of the party intervene in the crisis arising from the Speaker’s candidacy, the APC may lose Kwara State to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The elders, led by Chief James Bamisaiye Ayenioye, declared that, aside from the Speaker lacking political goodwill, “the process that produced him is faulty and lacks credibility.”
The group disclosed that the manner in which Danladi was allegedly imposed on the party was condemnable and unacceptable, asserting that “the institution, APC, is being led towards avoidable danger.”
They alleged that the governorship primary election scheduled for May 21, 2026, never took place, stating that “the circumstances surrounding the result of the governorship primary election purportedly held in Kwara State have generated concerns among members and stakeholders across the state.
“The non-existent primary election left much to be desired because one of the gubernatorial aspirants, Engr. Yakubu Salihu Danladi, the present speaker, who had earlier secured the ticket to return to the State Assembly, was surprisingly announced as the winner of the election that never took place.
“We are therefore amazed, deeply disturbed, and concerned that the governor, who is the leader of the APC in Kwara State, upheld the purported victory of Danladi and went ahead to present him to the national leadership of the APC as the party’s governorship candidate in Kwara State,” they lamented.
However, in a counter-reaction, another group of Kwara APC elders and stakeholders backing Danladi’s candidacy defended the outcome of the governorship primary election that produced Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu.
The group, at a separate press conference in Ilorin on Monday, declared support for the party’s governorship candidate and dismissed the position earlier taken by the Chief James Bamisaiye-led group against his emergence.
The elders also assured President Bola Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC that Danladi-Salihu enjoys broad support across the state, particularly among young voters, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda Ambassadors, AbdulLateef Gidado Alakawa, described members of the opposing camp as individuals not recognised within the official party structure in the state.
“To say the least, those who addressed that press conference are interlopers who are not recognised by the APC structure in the state.
“We would ordinarily not have dignified the claims of these individuals with a response, but there is a need to correct what we consider false narratives.
“The general public is aware that our party conducted primaries for all elective offices, including the governorship ticket, in a peaceful atmosphere.
“The result of the governorship primary was announced by the chairman of the panel sent from Abuja to conduct the exercise, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, at the Banquet Hall along Ahmadu Bello Way, Ilorin, on May 22, 2026.”
Alakawa said Danladi-Salihu had since reached out to former contestants and embarked on visits to political stakeholders and traditional rulers across the state in a move aimed at strengthening party unity.
He also dismissed allegations that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq imposed the governorship candidate on the party.

Deregistration: ADC heads to appeal court
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has said it will challenge the Federal High Court judgment ordering its deregistration by filing an appeal at the Court of Appeal.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Monday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the ADC would approach the appellate court immediately to contest the ruling.
According to him, the party remains undeterred by the court’s decision and is prepared to confront the legal challenge.
Abdullahi maintained that the ADC had built a strong political structure despite previous challenges and described its internal democratic processes as among the most extensive conducted by any political party in the country.
He said: “By tomorrow morning (Tuesday), ADC will be in the Court of Appeal. Ours is a party that was born out of adversity, and we are accustomed to challenges like these.
“We are not distracted by them. Despite the obstacles, we have built a formidable political party and carried out one of the most ambitious internal democratic exercises in the country.
“What we achieved during our primaries is unprecedented and sets a standard that no other political party in Nigeria has matched.”
DAILY POST reports that his remarks followed Monday’s judgment by Justice Peter Odo Lifu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to deregister the ADC, the Accord Party and three other political parties over alleged constitutional breaches.
The court also directed INEC to stop recognising the affected parties and barred them from participating in activities relating to the 2027 general elections pending compliance with constitutional requirements.
