A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, Senator Ayo Arise, has congratulated Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji on his victory in the June 20, 2026 governorship election.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, Arise described Oyebanji’s victory at the poll as a testament to his commitment to the development of the state.
Arise commended Ekiti voters for coming out enmasse to vote for Oyebanji and his deputy, Mrs Monisola Afuye, for a second term, adding that the action would facilitate more infrastructure and other development across the state.

The 2027 Ekiti North Senatorial District hopeful, however, stressed the need for unity, justice and fairness within the APC in the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ekiti 2026: ‘Clear vote of confidence’ – Tinubu congratulates Oyebanji
President Bola Tinubu has described the re-election of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, as a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability and people-centred governance.
Tinubu said this in his congratulatory message to the governor on his victory in Saturday’s governorship election.
DAILY POST recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday morning declared Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the election.
Tinubu commended the people of Ekiti State for their peaceful and orderly conduct, and for reposing their trust in Governor Oyebanji. He equally commended law enforcement agencies for maintaining law and order.
Tinubu charged INEC to continue to conduct peaceful, free, fair and credible election as the nation approaches the Osun governorship election in August and the general election next year.
“With his overwhelming victory in the election, Oyebanji has emerged as the first governor in the history of Ekiti State to win re-election back-to-back.
“Governor Oyebanji’s first term was marked by significant strides in infrastructure, agriculture, youth employment, education, healthcare, and rural development under his agenda.
“The renewed mandate is therefore a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability, and people-centred governance,” the President said in a statement released through his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.

Oyebanji’s Ekiti victory will be repeated in Osun — Oyintiloye
A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has said the victory recorded by Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Saturday’s Ekiti State governorship election would be replicated in Osun during the August 15, 2026 governorship poll.
Oyintiloye, who spoke with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, described Oyebanji’s re-election as well deserved and attributed the outcome to the governor’s performance in office and the support of the people of Ekiti State.
He said the election result represented a strong endorsement of the governor’s administration, adding that the margin of victory reflected the electorate’s confidence in progressive governance and policies centred on development and inclusiveness.
According to him, “The success of the APC in Ekiti has reinforced the party’s popularity and provides momentum ahead of the Osun governorship election.
“The Ekiti result has shown that when a party is united, focused and committed to grassroots engagement, victory becomes very easy.
“It is a clear lesson for us in Osun that teamwork, dedication and collective responsibility are indispensable for electoral success.”
The APC stalwart commended the party’s National Working Committee, led by National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Sen. Ajibola Basiru, for what he described as strategic leadership that has strengthened the party across the country.
He also acknowledged the role of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, saying his continued engagement with party members and stakeholders since the 2022 governorship election had helped to sustain and strengthen the party in the state.
Oyintiloye said the APC’s mobilisation strategy in Osun remained robust and focused on reconnecting with voters and consolidating support across wards and local government areas.
He urged party members and supporters to remain united and committed to securing victory at the forthcoming poll, stressing that every member had a role to play in achieving the party’s objectives.
Expressing confidence in the APC candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, Oyintiloye described him as competent, experienced and people-oriented.
“The people of Ekiti have reaffirmed their belief in progressive governance. By the grace of God, the people of Osun will do the same on August 15, 2026, by electing Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the next governor of the state,” Oyintiloye said.
The former lawmaker said growing unity within the party, its grassroots structure and what he described as increasing acceptance of the APC candidate were indications that the party was positioned to return to power in Osun after four years in opposition.
“We are ready. We have waited long enough, and by August 15, the victory recorded in Ekiti will be replicated in Osun, and the state will return to progressive leadership,” Oyintiloye said.
