Celtic are considering a move to sign a World Cup star after his performances at the summer tournament.

Celtic confirmed their first official signing of the summer transfer window this week, bringing in Colombian striker Camilo Duran from Qarabag.

The Glasgow club have had a fairly slow start to the summer transfer window, especially in comparison to their rivals Rangers.

There may be a slight concern from the Celtic half of Glasgow that Rangers could be looking to catch up with their new additions, so Martin O’Neill’s side might want to get a move on.

Celtic don’t desperately need reinforcements like Rangers do, but they still need to bring in some additions during the summer transfer window.

Celtic Pushing for World Cup Star

According to a report from Team Talk, Celtic are pushing to sign Egyptian international Emam Ashour and have been told to pay £4m to secure a quick deal.

The Scottish club face competition from sides in the Premier League, but he would be open to joining Celtic due to them playing in the Champions League next season.

Celtic are eyeing Ashour as a potential option to strengthen their numbers in the middle of the park.

The Egyptian international, described as a ‘precious talent’ who is similar to Scott McTominay, generally plays in a central or attacking midfield role but is also capable of playing out wide.

His future is set to be decided in the coming weeks, and the ball could start rolling with Egypt eliminated from the World Cup.

Celtic in talks to sign striker

According to a report from Sky Sports, Celtic are in talks to sign experienced striker Kelechi Iheanacho again. The Nigerian forward signed for the Glasgow club last summer on a free transfer, agreeing a one-year contract.

Celtic are now pushing to secure his signature once again, with the club locked in negotiations with his representatives over a new deal.

The expectation is that Celtic will reach an agreement with Iheanacho as soon as possible, hoping that they are able to give him a full pre-season.

The former Manchester City forward missed pre-season last year after only signing in September, so they’re hoping to get him to full fitness.

Tottenham Hotspur’s summer rebuild is making for entertaining viewing and they have reportedly been offered the chance to sign one of Europe’s most highly-rated attackers.

Six players have already joined Roberto De Zerbi’s project including Sandro Tonali for £100 million and Mateus Fernandes for £85 million. The North Londoners clearly mean business and have now set their sights on bringing a new forward to the English capital.

Spurs have been linked with several attackers, including Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford and Bournemouth’s Junior Kroupi. It’s turning out to be one of the busiest windows in the club’s history ahead of De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.

According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, Tottenham have been offered for AC Milan forward Rafael Leao. The Portuguese ace is expected to leave San Siro after confirming he plans to take on a new challenge.

Leao’s potential availability alerted Spurs and Longo previously claimed that he had agreed to join the Lilywhites. It appears the club have been given the opportunity to press ahead with their pursuit of the 27-year-old.

There’s no word on how much the Premier League giants have offered Milan but reports claim the Serie A club want around £61m for the player. He has two years left on his contract with the Rossoneri where he’s been playing his football since August 2019.

Viral Norway Fan Explains Viking Row Snub

Norway’s Viking Row will inevitably be performed again if they dump Thomas Tuchel’s side out of the tournament, but one supporter who won’t be joining in is Emil Lappen.

Lappen was spotted in the middle of the crowd for Norway’s 2-1 win over Brazil with his hands down by his sides, while everyone else around him performed the Viking Row.

The Norwegian football fan has now explained his reasons, pointing out his major problem with it.

“I just find it really stupid… and annoying and I didn’t want to do it,” he told Sky.

“It’s factually wrong and they didn’t row – they sailed the Atlantic.”

He added: “When they released it, I found it really stupid and I wanted to show that I didn’t appreciate it.

“I think I got the message across.”

“The Vikings rowed up rivers and things like that but across the Atlantic, they sailed.”

Lappen is also unhappy that Norway have, in his eyes, effectively copied Iceland’s iconic ‘Thunder Clap’ routine made famous at the 2016 European Championship.

“Changing a motion is not enough to get it away from just being a copy of exactly what they did,” Lappen added.

“All they wanted was the same reaction from people and then they just changed the motion.”

Asked if he’ll change his mind if Norway win the World Cup, Lappen was emphatic with his response:

“They can win whatever they want to, I will NOT row.”

Vieira has applauded Kone throughout France’s World Cup campaign and believes he’s even better than Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni. He told ITV (via Metro): “He is for me, the best midfielder in France today. I would put him ahead of Aurelien Tchouameni and Adrien Rabiot because he has got this mobility to move around the pitch.”

He added: “He is aggressive, he is a ball winner and he has got this technical ability to be part of the build-up. He can break lines and play forward.”

Kone’s future has been the subject of speculation since the transfer window opened and a move to the Premier League is a possibility. He has Vieira’s backing amid a stellar showing at the World Cup.
