Arsenal to Make ‘Proper Move’ For Barcola After Rogers Snub
Chaos has ensued at the Emirates after Chelsea hijacked Arsenal and swooped for England attacker Morgan Rogers.
The Gunners made Rogers their top target heading into the summer transfer window and were pursuing a deal for the Aston Villa star. That was until their London rivals agreed on a British transfer record £117 million deal with Villa on Saturday.
This has thrown Mikel Arteta’s plans into disarray and sent his transfer chiefs back to the drawing board. The name on most fans’ lips as the ideal alternative is Bradley Barcola, and it appears the Premier League champions are ready to go all in for the Paris Saint-Germain attacker.
Arsenal Could Turn to Barcola After Rogers Snub
Barcola has been on Arsenal’s radar amid PSG eyeing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande. In June, the Ivorian reportedly snubbed Liverpool and made a move to the Parc des Princes his preference.
This has cast doubts over Barcola’s future with the European champions and as a result given Arteta a chance to sign the Frenchman. Tom Collomosse of Mail Sport has suggested the Gunners may now make a concrete move for the 23-year-old.
Collomosse wrote on X that he “wouldn’t be surprised if Arsenal now made a proper move for Bradley Barcola.” After preparing to pay big money for Rogers, it seems likely that they will switch their focus to the French international.
Barcola enjoyed a fine World Cup campaign with Les Bleus, scoring three goals and providing one assist in eight games. That included a superb strike in a 6-4 loss to England in the third-place play-off.
The French winger, described as a ‘superstar’, came into the tournament off the back of another impressive campaign with PSG. He managed 13 goals and seven assists in 49 games, albeit not as a guaranteed starter due to the star-studded attacking options in Luis Enrique’s squad.

Barcola Might Be a Better Signing Than Rogers
For Arsenal, there is now pressure to sign a top-quality attacker after missing out on Rogers. That desperation could work in PSG’s favour if they come calling for Barcola, as they will likely be willing to pay a huge fee for the former Lyon star.
Previous reports indicate that the Parisians value Barcola at around £112 million and claim that Liverpool are also interested. When you factor in how much Chelsea have spent on Rogers, it’s understandable why the Ligue 1 champions will demand such a fee.
Barcola is a different profile to Rogers given he is a modern winger whose main strength is his explosive pace. It could be argued that this is more of a fit for Arteta and a front three including the Frenchman and Bukayo Saka would certainly excite the Gunners fanbase.

Aston Villa Hold Talks to Sign Chelsea Star Alejandro Garnacho
Aston Villa have held talks over a move to sign a top Premier League winger to replace Chelsea-bound Morgan Rogers this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
The Villans have had a busy summer so far after losing Amadou Onana to a serious knee injury, with Youri Tielemans joining Man Utd in a surprise deal, while moves have been agreed for Lucas Digne to join Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea agreeing to pay a record-breaking £117m for Rogers.
Emery’s side have already agreed deals for Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes to join, while the club have agreed personal terms for Pervis Estupinan too, and now they are turning their attention towards bolstering their forward line.
Aston Villa Hold Garnacho Transfer Talks
It has now emerged that during talks around the deal for Rogers, Aston Villa asked Chelsea about the opportunity to sign winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho, who has been described as ‘phenomenal’, is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after just one season at the club, with the club admitting publicly that they are in discussions about his future.
AS Roma are understood to be the most keen club up to this point, but they are prioritising a move for West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville instead, and that has opened the door for Villa to make a move for the Argentine.
The report claims that Garnacho would be very open to a move to Villa Park, with the opportunity to work under Unai Emery a big factor in that. It’s understood that he has been a long-term target for the club, and they could now look to step up their interest in the current window.
Talks are expected to accelerate in the coming weeks now that pre-season has begun, and Garnacho has emerged as a serious option to join.

Aston Villa Garnacho Move is a Gamble
Garnacho quite clearly has talent, and his fledgling career shows that, with appearances for Man Utd, Chelsea, and Argentina already under his belt.
But the 22-year-old has also had trouble everywhere he has been with his attitude and commitment. Emery has shown that he has the quality to get the absolute maximum out of players, and he has helped the likes of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford turn their situations around, so Garnacho would fit in well.
However, with plenty of baggage and question marks, it would be a big gamble to go through with the deal as they look to replace one of the most influential forwards in the league.

Sean Strickland Ranks Sports From Most to Least Masculine After World Cup Final
UFC fighter Sean Strickland took to X during the World Cup final last night to rank a range of sports from most to least masculine, and it’s fair to say he isn’t the biggest fan of ‘soccer.’
Strickland, who is the current UFC middleweight champion, most recently fought Khamzat Chimaev. In the eagerly anticipated match-up, the American came out on top and ultimately reclaimed UFC gold.
Last night, he chose to watch the World Cup final between Argentina and Spain. It was the latter who came out on top via a 106th-minute winner by Ferran Torres. However, the dramatic climax didn’t seem to excite the UFC superstar.
World Cup Final Doesn’t Impress Sean Strickland
By all accounts, it wasn’t the best 120 minutes of football, especially given the magnitude of the game. Spain took control from the off and never really allowed Argentina any chances in normal time. They eventually found their reward for all the possession as super-sub Torres found the back of the net.
It was far from the chaotic back-and-forth like the last World Cup final, though, it had its moments. The red card for Enzo Fernandez and Argentina’s late flurry of chances certainly stood out as the moments when the game sprang into life.
Overall, however, Strickland wasn’t entertained by the match.
Using social media, he gave his thoughts on the sport, saying: “Anyways soccer is real f****** gay… How are you a grown a** man faking being hit? Are there any soccer players out there? Do you feel no shame when you fake being injured?”
Sean Strickland’s Sport Rankings
Despite soccer not captivating Strickland, he didn’t rank it at the bottom of his list. In his opinion, swimming is the least masculine sport, with golf second, just before soccer in third. He then put tennis as the fourth least masculine, with lacrosse in fifth.
Baseball was next, and while it is higher than some of the others, he didn’t have many positive words to say about it as he added: “The sport sucks though.”
In terms of most masculine, he put MMA at the top, with kickboxing second and boxing in third. Wrestling was fourth, trailing all the other combat sports. Then in the middle there was rugby, ice hockey, and American football.
For some, it was a controversial list, with one reply saying: “If you played soccer for 90 mins you’ll understand this is a man’s sport.”
However, Strickland replied by saying: “Bro, they fake injuries.”

Lola Vice Posts Naked Photo of Herself With Two Titles
A WWE Superstar has celebrated their birthday by breaking the internet, posing nude with two title belts.
In a sport where making noise is a massive part of the job, the post will have done them no harm as they look to continue in their quest to become “the best Superstar in the history of WWE.”
Celebrating her 28th birthday, Lola Vice took to social media to post a picture of her lying on a bed, covered only by two titles: the NXT Women’s Championship and AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship.
Since making her in-ring debut back in November 2022, Vice has grown in popularity and signalled her intention to become “the best Superstar in the history of the WWE.”
In February 2026, she won the AAA World Mixed Tag Team title alongside Mr. Iguana. The pair defeated Ethan Page and La Hiedra. Vice then won the NXT Women’s Championship when emerging victorious from a triple threat match against Jacy Jayne and Kendal Grey at NXT Stand & Deliver in April 2026.
Grey got revenge, however, 85 days later at NXT The Great American Bash: Orlando, though, that did not stop Vice from posing with the belt to celebrate her birthday.
At the time of writing, the post has amassed more than half a million views, 1.5k reposts, and nearly 40k likes.
Fellow WWE Superstars Have Posted Similar
Less than a month ago, WWE Tag Team champion Montez Ford went viral for posing with the belt – and only the belt – in a video call screenshot with his wife posted to his social media.
Mandy Rose, CM Punk, and Logan Paul, as well as Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, are others to have adopted similar poses.
Who is Lola Vice?
Vice’s real name is Valerie Loureda, and she became the first Cuban-American woman to sign a contract with WWE, as well as the first Cuban-American wrestler to win a title in WWE too.
Loureda grew up in Miami and was the daughter of a Taekwondo master. As a 5th Dan black belt herself, Loureda was part of the US Olympic Taekwondo team before becoming a fighter in MMA.
Loureda had a 4-1 record, all fights taking place under the Bellator banner. She won her debut at Bellator 216 against Colby Fletcher by TKO. Her last fight was a split decision triumph against Taylor Turner at Bellator 271.
Heading into WrestleMania 38 weekend, she attended a three-day-long WWE tryout in March 2022. This led to her being signed by WWE the following August and adopting the ring name of Lola Vice.
