First Photos of Ilia Topuria Without Sunglasses After Justin Gaethje Defeat
Ilia Topuria has been pictured without sunglasses for the first time since his heavy defeat at the hands of Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250.
The main event of the night saw a huge upset with Topuria suffering the first defeat of his UFC career in brutal style as ‘El Matador’ was forced to retire after the fourth round.
Prior to that, Sean O’Malley secured a knockout of Canadian Aiemann Zahabi in their bantamweight bout, while Mauricio Ruffy knocked out Michael Chandler in a lightweight contest.
Diego Lopes knocked out Steve Garcia in a featherweight contest, while Josh Hokit saw off Derrick Lewis in the second round of a heavyweight fight.
In other fights, Ciryl Gane knocked out Alex Pereira to win the interim UFC heavyweight title. ‘Bon Gamin’ overcame the Brazilian after the referee stopped the action in the second round at 1:27, following a punishing left hand to the chin.
Justin Gaethje Stopped Ilia Topuria in Brutal Fashion
After securing the UFC lightweight title, Gaethje was greeted by USA President Donald Trump in the Octagon, who was hosting the event to celebrate his 80th birthday and the nation’s 250th anniversary.
The American had badly bloodied his opponent with a left-right combination in the third round, leading to an extended break after the round in which doctors seemed to suggest the fight should end. However, referee Marc Goddard appeared to overrule the doctor’s desire to stop the fight over concerns regarding Topuria’s vision.
Topuria’s corner then called for the fight to be stopped after the fourth round before he was taken to a local hospital shortly after, with reports suggesting he suffered non-displaced fractures in both orbital bones.
He later released a statement congratulating Gaethje following his first career defeat, saying: “Justin, congratulations. You said you’d leave your mark on my face… and you did. You took the sight from my right eye in the first round, and by the end of the second, from my left too.
“No excuses. I had one of the best camps of my life. I came in sharp, prepared, and ready. Last night was your night. That’s the nature of this game. Glory and pain walk side by side. I’ll heal. I’ll rest. And I’ll return stronger, wiser, and far more dangerous. And trust me… this story between us is far from over. We will have our rematch.”
Ilia Topuria Spotted Without Sunglasses
The Spanish-Georgian fighter has now been spotted for the first time since the fight without sunglasses and looks very well healed from the bout in June.
Despite the injuries, his trainer, Jesus Gallo, has already set out a possible return date for Topuria.
“What the doctor told us was that within six to eight weeks, [Topuria’s injuries] should heal properly, especially because there was no orbital bone displacement, so it will heal on its own,” Gallo said.
“I think we’re talking about at least two to three months, easily. If you saw us in a rematch or in a fight, it would be toward the end of the year, in December. Who knows? We’ll see.”
Justin Gaethje Rules Out Rematch
However, Gaethje has already shut down the idea of a rematch, saying he made Topuria ‘quit’ twice during their blockbuster on the South Lawn of the White House.
“I stopped him twice. What else do I have to f****** do? His next challenge can’t be me,” Gaethje said on the Joe Rogan Experience. “He needs to fight Paddy [Pimblett] or someone like that.”
Topuria and Pimblett share a longtime hatred for one another, stemming from an altercation at a London hotel in 2022, making the possible clash an easy sell and one that fans would be eager to see.

‘I’m a 4-Time Tennis Grand Slam Winner
A four-time Grand Slam winner has blamed her ex-husband for losing her £31 million fortune.
Arantxa Sanchez Vicario, now 54, was a prominent tennis player in the 1990s. She was a Wimbledon finalist in both 1995 and 1996 and an Australian Open finalist in 1994 and 1995. She is also a three-time winner of the French Open, with her victories coming in 1989, 1994, and 1998. Not only that, but she also won the US Open in 1994.
She also won three of the four Grand Slams in doubles. She won three Australian Open titles, one Wimbledon title, and two US Open titles. If that wasn’t impressive enough, the Spaniard also won three out of the four Grand Slams in mixed doubles as well, only missing out on Wimbledon.
She has been ranked number one in both singles and doubles.
Arantxa Sanchez Vicario Controversies
She was married to entrepreneur Josep Santacana for 11 years, between 2008 and 2019. During their marriage, the pair had two children, a son and a daughter.
During her playing career and in the aftermath of it, Sanchez Vicario faced a series of criminal charges relating to fraud accusations. Between 1989 and 1993, she had falsely claimed to be a resident of Andorra for tax purposes, while she was actually residing in Barcelona, Spain. She was ordered to pay back taxes and penalty fees.
This continued as in 2009 she was found guilty of tax evasion and ordered to repay 3.5 million euros. In 2015, Banque de Luxembourg successfully filed a complaint against her for credit and property fraud amounting to $5.2 million but were unable to recoup the money.
In 2023, Sanchez Vicario and her now ex-husband went to trial having been accused of hiding assets to avoid paying back a debt owed to a bank. For that, she was handed a two-year suspended prison sentence and was told to pay £5.5m worth of debt.
She is currently paying off her huge debts while working as a tennis instructor in the USA. She has to hand over 50% of her wages.
Despite this, the 54-year-old places the blame on her ex-husband for the loss of her fortune.

In a recent interview with a Spanish TV show called Universo Callejo, Sanchez Vicario said: “I trusted him because he was the father of my children. I fell blindly in love, but he really isn’t the person I thought he was.”
She confirmed the loss of £31m in earnings when saying: “It’s true. I focused on playing tennis and never handled my own financial affairs because I didn’t know how.
“I trusted my husband and the money vanished. I was left to shoulder the entire burden.”
On avoiding prison in 2023, she said: “I did not go to jail because I am paying 50% of my earnings to the bank. I am complying when deep down I was a victim. It was a shock. I had to go to therapy because I couldn’t believe it. It was like waking up from a dream and thinking, this can’t be happening to me.”

Maxence Lacroix Chelsea Transfer ‘Advancing Quite Fast’
Xabi Alonso could be set to add another new player to his Chelsea squad for the 2026/27 season with a deal ‘advancing quite fast’.
This week the Blues stole the headlines after confirming the signing of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for £117m.
A Villa exit for Rogers always appeared to be on the cards this summer, with Arsenal a likely destination until Chelsea sprung into action and lured him across to west London instead.
Rogers joins Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda and Emmanuel Emegha linking up with Alonso’s team for the new season and more are expected to follow before the Premier League opener against Fulham.
New Chelsea transfer ‘advancing quite fast’
Maxence Lacroix looks to be closing in on a move to Chelsea from Crystal Palace ahead of the new season.
In a live stream on X, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated that the French international’s move to Stamford Bridge is “advancing quite fast”.
“Chelsea will be busy with more things,” he explained. “The news of the day was about Maxence Lacroix, the defender from Crystal Palace. I’m told that this deal is advancing quite fast.”
Since joining from VfL Wolfsburg in the summer of 2024 for £18m, Lacroix has been a huge hit at Selhurst Park and has played a major role in the most successful period of the club’s history.

Firstly helping the Eagles win the FA Cup with a win over Manchester City in May 2025, the club then lifted the Conference League trophy 12 months on under the guidance of Oliver Glasner.
Lacroix’s form saw him called up to the French national team for the first time back in March, with the 26-year-old going on to be named in Didier Deschamps’ squad for the World Cup and feature in three of their eight games in North America.
A deal that could kickstart transfer movement
The heart of defence is one position where Chelsea need to upgrade their options for Alonso if they are to get back to winning silverware season after season.
The Blues currently have a number of centre-backs on the books but there will be expected to be plenty of movement before the transfer window closes for business with question marks over a number of players.
As things stand right now, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill, Mamadou Sarr, Jorrel Hato, Trevoh Chalobah, Wesley Fofana, Aaron Anselmino, Josh Acheampong and Axel Disasi are all available to Alonso.
Chelsea need to address that situation for the new boss and the likely arrival of Lacroix will possibly start the ball rolling to the Blues getting their squad in shape.

Dana White’s Long Statement on Josh Hokit One Month After Calling Michelle Obama a Man
UFC President and CEO Dana White has called out fighter Josh Hokit for his comments on Michelle Obama following his UFC White House card victory last month.
Hokit came out victorious thanks to a second-round TKO win over Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 and made the controversial comments at the end of his post-fight interview.
Dana White has since appeared on “The Pivot” podcast with Ryan Clark, where he was asked about a wide variety of topics within the UFC, including his views on Hokit’s comments now that the dust has settled.
What Josh Hokit Said at UFC Freedom 250
Hokit was asked a number of questions by Joe Rogan during his post-fight interview in which he answered them as normal. However, before he walked out of the Octagon, he made the following shocking statement: “Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?”
The President Donald Trump, who was sat cageside for the event, was gifted a chain by Hokit after the incident, but in a clip shown on TMZ, he can be seen removing the chain following the comments made about Obama.
Hokit has also appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show as a guest following the special event last month, where he answered questions and gave his reasoning behind the comment. Shockingly, the fighter appeared to double down on his comment and not see anything wrong with what he had said.
He said: “I thought I was giving her a compliment. Michelle Obama being a man, that’s like she knows how to deal with adversity. She knows how to work hard like a man.”
Helwani later asked if he had any regrets regarding his comments, to which Hokit replied: “Oh, never. You’ll never hear me backtrack from what I say.”
White had been asked why none of the commentators had come and said that the UFC does not agree with the comments made by Hokit.
He answered the question before adding his own opinion on what Hokit had said, stating: “Obviously, Barack and Michelle Obama are public figures. And when you’re a public figure, you guys know, I’m sure you guys deal with your own level of bull and people talking. It’s part of the gig.
“But what I don’t like is, first of all, the former First Lady of the United States. No. 2, a wife, a mother. It’s f****** gross. Right? It’s inappropriate, the timing of it and everything.
“I think that people understand. There are people you can’t talk to and can’t change their mind, and you can’t, whatever. Obviously, it’s not the opinion of the UFC. It’s not my opinion or anybody else who fought on that card.
“It was a really unfortunate thing to happen that night. When you hit this f****** grand slam home run and have a perfect event in every way that it could be… you got a f****** moronic, you know, it just. But, you know, other than that, it was a great f****** night. What are you gonna do?
UFC commentator and former champion Daniel Cormier has also spoken about the comments made by Hokit, as he said: “There was no gain in Josh Hokit doing that, and it was disgusting. So, get it together dude. You don’t need to be as outlandish as you are.”
