Rodri is at the centre of a transfer battle between Barcelona and Real Madrid and the Manchester City midfielder is believed to desire a move to Camp Nou.

The Spaniard had been heavily linked with a move to Madrid after starring in his nation’s World Cup triumph. For a while now, he has been talked up for a switch to the Estadio Bernabeu, with Dani Carvajal previously admitting he constantly tried to convince him to join Los Blancos.

Barca have only recently come into the picture, but the Catalans have seemingly turned the City star’s head. If he is to leave the Etihad this summer, he wants to join Hansi Flick’s La Liga champions.

Rodri enjoyed a stellar World Cup campaign and won the Golden Ball after helping Spain become two-time world champions. With a year left on his contract at City, the 30-year-old is wanted by both El Clasico rivals.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Rodri has ‘definitively opted for a move to Barcelona and informed Real Madrid’. He is said to have held talks with Los Blancos, and while he’s shown the ‘utmost respect for the club ‘, this didn’t come with ‘complete conviction.’

Rodri reportedly even gave his reasons for prioritising a move to Camp Nou during those conversations. His relationship with Pep Guardiola, the Blaugrana’s style of play and the club’s coexistence with the Spanish national team are all thought to have been instrumental.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner has previously spoken of his admiration for Guardiola’s Barca team. He even vowed to ‘be better’ than Sergio Busquets, whom he called ‘the best defensive midfielder of all time’ in an interview with Mundo Deportivo in October 2023.

Madrid understood Rodri’s explanations and conceded defeat in their pursuit of the 30-year-old. They viewed him as a ‘very interesting player due to his ability, charisma, captaincy and prominence at international level.’

Jose Mourinho has been kept in the loop and thinks he can find a solution within his current squad. It’s a blow for the Portuguese coach, but he has the likes of Manchester United-linked Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga to call upon as his midfield anchor.

The report claims that Madrid hadn’t only spoken to Rodri about a potential move but also City’s higher-ups. These discussions didn’t result in negotiations or any talks over a transfer fee for the Spaniard.

Barca are now in pole position to land the former Atletico Madrid midfielder, and a deal will reportedly cost them around €60 million (£50 million). If he does make the move, he’ll become the second player to head to Catalonia from the Premier League this summer following Anthony Gordon’s arrival from Newcastle United for £69.3m.

Rodri is reportedly expected to be offered a four-year deal worth around €30 million (£25.7m) per year. That would make him one of the highest-paid players at the club, along with the likes of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

Should he leave City, he’ll do so as one of the greatest players in the club’s history, having won every trophy on offer. He scored the vital winner in the 2023 Champions League final as Guardiola guided the Citizens to a historic treble.

Tottenham Hotspur are pushing hard to complete the signing of Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, with Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina claiming that the Premier League club are ‘all in’ for the player.

Osimhen enjoyed another prolific year in Turkey in 2025/26, netting 22 goals and providing six assists in 33 appearances across all competitions. Despite his perennial ability to finish a campaign with an excellent return in front of goal, the Nigerian has never earned a big move to a club in a top-five league that can pay him the lucrative wages he seeks.

However, he could finally be on the verge of sealing a blockbuster transfer, with Spurs said to be in the driving seat to land the 27-year-old’s services.

Reports emerged last week indicating that Tottenham have lodged a £50 million offer for Osimhen, and while it’s not clear whether this bid was enough to convince Galatasaray to sell, a deal does seem to be in motion.

Spurs have gone big on their defence and midfield this summer, adding Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson, Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes to their ranks, spending £237 million in the process.

The focus for the Lilywhites’ hierarchy now shifts to bolstering the attacking options in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, with a striker high on the list of priorities. That said, number nines don’t come cheaply in this market, and Tottenham’s budget is likely to be stretched after their considerable outlay on the aforementioned signings.

Thus, the North London club are looking for undervalued assets on the market, and they may just have found one in Osimhen, described as ‘one of the best strikers in the world’.

The Nigeria international may be well paid at Galatasaray, but the Turkish club are reportedly willing to accept a modest fee for the player. It’s also likely he’d be willing to swap Istanbul for the British capital, so that he can compete at the highest level once again.

Damiano Er Faina suggests that Spurs are ‘all in’ for Osimhen, indicating that the key decision-makers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium are prepared to do whatever they need to make the deal happen.

Victor Osimhen and Savinho Would Complete Perfect Tottenham Transfer Window

Tottenham are understood to be increasingly confident of signing Savinho, with Manchester City now open to selling the Brazilian as they believe they can acquire Pedro Neto as a replacement.

If Spurs can pull off a deal for Savinho and sign Osimhen, they’d arguably have enjoyed the perfect transfer window. De Zerbi would have fixed his team’s ball progression issues by adding elite passers at centre-back, while building a functional midfield and adding star quality to their attack.

Savinho may have struggled to establish himself at City, but his raw attributes and form at Girona suggest this is a reasonable bet for Spurs to make. Osimhen, described as ‘the best striker in the world‘ previously, would provide De Zerbi with a reliable goalscorer — something his squad currently lacks.

So busy in the transfer market in June and early July, things have slowed down on incomings in N17 over the past month with players instead heading out of the door.

Alejo Veliz, Alfie Devine, Luka Vuskovic, Tynan Thompson and Will Lankshear have all departed Tottenham on a permanent basis, with a host of players, including talented youngster Mason Melia, exiting on loan.

Another loan deal looks set to be finalised very soon and it is a move that could really benefit Roberto De Zerbi and Tottenham in the years ahead.

Mikey Moore is set to depart Tottenham on loan for the second consecutive season as he closes in on a move to German side FC Koln.

Breaking into the Spurs team during Ange Postecoglou’s tenure, the talented winger was given the green light to depart on loan 12 months ago to aid his development.

Moore headed to Glasgow and linked up with Scottish giants Rangers on a season-long deal in what was an eye-catching first loan for the Spurs starlet.

It proved to be a very beneficial move for the player as he recovered from a tricky start under Russell Martin to go on and flourish under Danny Rohl following a change in management.

In total, Moore contributed seven goals and four assists in 50 games for the Gers.

Amid rumours of a return to Ibrox for the new campaign, the winger will instead be plying his trade in the Bundesliga with Koln after Tottenham struck an agreement with the German side.

Speaking on his YouTube channel on Wednesday, Fabrizio Romano issued a transfer update and gave an insight into Moore’s Koln switch.

“Mikey Moore, the talent from Tottenham, is one step away from joining Koln on loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur,” said the transfer expert. “Just waiting for a final approval to travel for medical test and contract signing.

“It’s going to be a straight loan, not a deal with any buy option clause or buy obligation, so these are the conditions of the deal for Mickey Moore.”

Moore’s loan move to Koln could be a very important step in his development when it comes to his Tottenham career.

His time at Rangers was extremely beneficial to him and his new opportunity in Germany will only help his game advance to new levels as he experiences football in a new league and new country.

Moore will be the third English addition at Koln this summer after youngsters Reigan Heskey and Jahmai Simpson-Pusey joined on permanent deals from Manchester City.

Regular game time is going to be imperative when it comes to Moore taking his game on even further and potentially becoming a Tottenham starter in the future.

Spurs have yet to find a long-term replacement for Son Heung-min on the left flank and a strong season for Moore in Germany could potentially give De Zerbi food for thought this time next year.
