Alejandro Garnacho Deletes Instagram After Statement From His Ex

Published

Alejandro Garnacho’s time in the Premier League has been anything but straightforward, after his acrimonious Manchester United exit to Chelsea has now led to a fresh start at Aston Villa, as he looks to rebuild his career at just 22.

But away from the pitch, it’s a situation closer to home that’s now drawing attention. While Garnacho continues to focus on his football with a new club, someone close to him has been dealing with a far more personal upheaval of her own.

A heartbreaking social media post has emerged from Garnacho’s ex-partner, detailing a painful and unwanted departure from a place filled with years of memories, one shaped by circumstances entirely out of her control, and it prompted some swift action from the Argentinian to ensure he remained out of the public eye.

Per The Sun, the post belongs to Eva Garcia, the ex-girlfriend of the Aston Villa winger, and mother to his son Enzo, who revealed she’s having to leave the home the pair once shared. Writing on Instagram, Garcia said:

“I never imagined that one day I would have to say goodbye to the house where my son and I have rebuilt our lives since everything changed. It was here that we took our first steps as a family of two.”

“It was here that I learnt to be strong when I had no other choice, and it is here that my son has grown up surrounded by memories that I will always carry with me.”

Garcia shared black-and-white photos of the property alongside images of Enzo, before explaining why the move wasn’t one she chose. “Today we have to pack our bags and leave,” she wrote. “Not because we want to, nor because we’ve chosen to do so, but because there are circumstances and decisions made by other people and which have ultimately made it impossible for us to stay here.

“And perhaps that’s what hurts the most: knowing that you did everything in your power to avoid a farewell you never wanted.”

Although Garcia never named Garnacho directly, followers quickly connected the post to their history together, and the backlash aimed at the winger grew significant enough that he subsequently deactivated his Instagram account, with neither player nor club commenting publicly on the situation.

Garnacho and Garcia began dating in August 2020, having first met as teenagers while he was still at Atletico Madrid. The couple welcomed Enzo three years later, though they had separated on previous occasions before their final split in 2025. Garnacho was later linked to Spanish influencers Ona Gonfaus and Lauri following the breakup.

Despite losing the physical house, Garcia insisted the sense of home remains intact for her and her son. “Today we’ve lost a house, but we haven’t lost our home,” she wrote, closing her message with a note of resolve: “I’m leaving with a broken heart, yes, but also with the peace of mind that comes from knowing I did everything in my power for us.”

Coventry Agree £20.5M Deal For Fenerbahce Striker Cherif

Coventry City are closing in on their seventh summer signing after agreeing on a deal with Fenerbahce for young striker Sidiki Cherif.

Frank Lampard will be looking to keep the Sky Blues in the Premier League next season following promotion as EFL Championship winners. His transfer chiefs are certainly backing him, having forked out £92m on six players, including Gustavo Hamer and Carl Rushworth.

Coventry are set to complete a £17m deal for Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi, per BBC Sport, and they are also thinking about the future. They are set to swoop for the highly-rated Cherif, who is tipped for a bright future.

Sky Sports confirmed Coventry’s deal for Cherif and revealed how much the club are set to pay for the Fenerbahce youngster. They said:

“Coventry City are closing in on the signing of Fenerbahce striker Sidiki Cherif. It’s understood the clubs have agreed a £20.5m deal for the Guinea international.”

With Cherif and Awoniyi set to join Lampard’s side, Coventry will have spent £129.5m this summer, more than Manchester United. Their move for the Guinean youngster is an exciting one, given he’s receiving rave reviews from African media.

African outlet Guinefoot’s verdict of the 19-year-old speaks volumes:

“Sidiki Cherif is becoming a decisive player for Fenerbahçe. He is sending a strong message. At this rate, he will be called up to the Guinea National Team in no time. His future looks bright; despite his young age, he is determined and confident.”

Cherif, described as a ‘powerful’ striker, finished last season with two goals in 12 Turkish Super Lig games after joining Fenerbahce from Angers on loan with an obligation to buy. The Turkish giants have decided to accept Coventry’s offer for the six-foot-two-inch centre-forward.

Coventry Will Stay Up

Coventry City manager Frank Lampard celebrates promotion to the Premier League at parade

Of the three teams promoted to the Premier League, Coventry are best positioned to avoid relegation. They already had a strong squad, but their transfer activity has been impressive, especially adding Awoniyi’s experience and Cherif, a player with plenty of potential, to Lampard’s frontline.

The Sky Blues cruised to the Championship title last season, finishing with 95 points. They will be a tricky opposition for any top-flight club and could be dreaming of replicating Sunderland’s success last season.

Lampard’s priority will be keeping the West Midlands outfit in the Premier League and ensuring the foundations are set for them to enjoy a long stay in the big time. They kickstart their campaign against champions Arsenal next Friday (August 21st).

West Ham in Talks to Sign ‘Unbelievable’ Leeds Star as Parrott Deal Stalls

Published

West Ham United are reportedly closing in on the signing of Leeds United striker Joel Piroe and seemingly pulled the plug on a deal for Troy Parrott.

A new center-forward is a priority for Nuno Espírito Santo, and Parrott has been a top target. The club failed with an opening bid for the AZ Alkmaar frontman but were said to be ‘confident’ as they prepared to make a second offer for the Irishman.

In a shock twist, the East London outfit may have pivoted as they are now advancing in talks for Piroe. It seems unlikely that two new forwards will arrive before the transfer window closes, given that Santo already has Valentin Castellanos leading the line.

West Ham Turn To Piroe as Parrott Deal Stalls

Joel Piroe

West Ham have turned to Leeds United’s Joel Piroe to add more firepower to Santo’s frontline and Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof reports that a deal is in its final stages. The Surinamese striker has fallen down Daniel Farke’s pecking order and has been expected to leave Elland Road this summer.

Blaauwhof of Voetbal International wrote on X:

“A transfer of Joël Piroe to West Ham United is in the final stages. The striker is still at Leeds United’s training complex today, but hopes to move to London soon. It is unclear whether this has consequences for Troy Parrott.”

Piroe could be on his way back to the EFL Championship, having previously played in the second tier of English football with Leeds and Swansea City. He enjoyed his time in the division, scoring 73 goals in 179 games for the Peacocks and the Swans.

Following Leeds’ promotion and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s arrival, the 27-year-old has lacked regular game time, starting just two of 16 Premier League games last season. He will be eager to get back to playing football and could rival Castellanos for a starting berth in Santo’s attack.

West Ham reportedly offered £15 million for Piroe but were told the fee to sign the player is £20 million. This is said to have left the Hammers feeling ‘short-changed’ as the asking price had previously been set at £16m.

Sky Sports, meanwhile, claims that the Irons are keen on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, but the Whites prefer a permanent sale. They could be satisfied with the loan proposal, given that they will then sell Piroe next summer.

Piroe has two years left on his contract, having joined Leeds from Swansea back in the summer of 2023 for just over £10m. While Farke rarely turned to him last season, he spoke glowingly back in October:

“For me, he’s the best finisher I’ve ever worked with and there’s been some good finishers. If you want to have a player with the ball in front of his feet 20 yards out, then I would always go for Joel Piroe because he’s an unbelievable finisher and in these terms, really world class.”

If Piroe does arrive at the London Stadium, he’ll become the club’s fifth summer signing. Santo’s squad has been strengthened with the arrivals of Arne Engels, Manor Solomon, Beaver Lamadrid and Joel Veltman.

West Ham Making Wise Decision

Joel Piroe

West Ham seemed eager to sign Parrott but AZ’s asking price may well have put them off. The Irish striker was in terrific form last season, finding the back of the net 31 times in 48 games across competitions.

Piroe looks to be the Hammers’ alternative, and there’s certainly a lot to like about the six-foot-one-inch, especially his Championship experience. While he didn’t quite get the opportunity to prove his worth in the Premier League, he could prove to be an excellent addition to Santo’s squad.

With Castellanos staying put, spending heavily on Parrott may have been the wrong move. A loan with an obligation to buy for Piroe helps financially and allows Santo to choose between Castellanos and Piroe to lead the line, or even play both as a front two.

Man Utd Transfer Priority Laid Bare By Ruben Amorim

Published

Manchester United will be looking to get more business done before the summer transfer window closes in two weeks’ time.

Under new permanent head coach Michael Carrick, the Red Devils have signed three players, with their main priority at the beginning of the window to add two new central midfielders fulfilled.

After looking like they were going to be priced out of the market for their top targets, with Elliot Anderson making the move from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City for £116million and Mateus Fernandes moving from West Ham to Tottenham for £85million, United eventually got deals over the line for Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa.

They also brought goalkeeper Karl Darlow in on a free transfer from Leeds United.

Luke Shaw enjoyed a monopoly of starts at Manchester United

The new Premier League season is less than a week away from getting underway now and getting any more new signings in in time for the big kick-off looks unlikely.

After bringing in two midfielders, the next priority for United appeared to be a left-back, and that need was laid bare by United’s former manager Ruben Amorim on Saturday.

Amorim was sacked by the United hierarchy in January, to be replaced by Carrick, initially on an interim basis. And the Englishman turned United’s fortunes around, guiding the club back to the UEFA Champions League, finishing third in the Premier League and ending the season with the best record in the calendar year of 2026 so far.

The left-back at Old Trafford under both Amorim and Carrick was Luke Shaw, with the Englishman starting every single Premier League match in 2025/26. The problem is he does not have much competition for his spot in the team.

United have been linked with a big-money move to sign Lewis Hall this summer, although, having lost Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle are reluctant to sanction any more departures.

United were briefly offered the chance to sign Myles Lewis-Skelly from Arsenal, but that move looks dead in the water too.

United’s need for a left-back was highlighted by Amorim though as his AC Milan side beat his former players 4-2 in a pre-season friendly in Poland.

Shaw has not covered himself in glory during pre-season

Shaw was once again the left-back of choice for Carrick, but he struggled to impart his game on the Italian side.

In the Manchester Evening News’ player ratings, Shaw was handed a four out of ten – the worst performer on the day – with the publication saying:

Given a going over by Chukwueze and ironically struggled to understand Amorim’s system and how he should approach going up against the wing-back.

Shaw got one mark higher in the Sun’s ratings. “Was left hopelessly outnumbered at the back post for Milan’s first goal, and there were some occasions in the second half that Heaven and Santos had to fill in to cover for him. Other than that, he failed to make an impact,” they said.

A move for United to sign Hall has been described as “very, very unlikely” by MEN reporter Tyrone Marshall, but the rumours with any other left-backs have dried up somewhat.

The likes of David Raum, Archie Brown and Neco Williams have all been linked, but United will go into the start of the 2026/27 campaign with Shaw as their starting option once more and that could be a big mistake if pre-season is anything to go by.
