Jake Paul appears set to swap one humiliation for another, as Anthony Joshua is now reportedly in deep discussions with the former creator for a boxing fight in December.
Paul and the company he co-founded, Most Valuable Promotions, were left scrambling for new opponents after canceling the Gervonta Davis exhibition after news broke regarding Tank’s legal issues. They nixed the entire event set for the 14th of November at the Kaseya Center in Miami, and began approaching other fighters.
However, there was just one problem: they all kept saying no. It was new territory for Paul to find himself in, as, for years, boxers — both big name and small, active and retired — appeared happy to call Paul out for a fight. But, these days, athletes like the former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who is 0-2 in boxing, intimated that it was “disrespectful” to be even be linked with the American.
It had led Paul to reignite talks with AJ, who he had been linked with earlier in the year. Now, they appear set to finally collide, bringing an end to a period in which Joshua has spent time on the sidelines following his brutal knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in 2023. According to Ring Magazine, Paul is likely to be Joshua’s comeback opponent.
