Veekee James and Femi Atere Step Into Parenthood as They Expect Their First Child
Fashion designer Veekee James and her husband, Femi Atere, have shared the news that they are expecting their first child, and the moment was as calm and intimate as their love story often feels. The couple revealed the news through a short video that leaned into simplicity rather than spectacle. No grand statements, no excess. Just presence, sunlight, and togetherness.
In the video, Veekee and Femi walk side by side in a quiet outdoor setting, holding hands and moving at an unhurried pace. At one point, Femi gently raises a strip of ultrasound images, letting the moment speak for itself. It is subtle, tender, and deeply personal, the kind of announcement that feels less like content and more like a shared memory.
Veekee’s look stayed true to her signature style. She wore a fitted maxi dress in a soft neutral tone that highlighted her growing bump without trying too hard. The dress flowed naturally with each step, paired with statement gold earrings and brown suede boots that grounded the look. Femi complemented her effortlessly in a relaxed linen outfit, keeping the palette clean and cohesive. Together, they looked like a couple fully settled into this new season of life.
For many who followed their journey, this chapter feels especially meaningful. Just two years ago, their union played out in beautiful stages. A legal ceremony at the start of February 2024, a traditional wedding in Akwa Ibom days later, and a white wedding in Lagos shortly after. The celebrations, widely known by the hashtag LoveUnbeaten24, became moments people still reference when talking about modern Nigerian love stories.
The couple accompanied their announcement with a simple message acknowledging faith, growth, and gratitude. It was short, sincere, and reflective of how they have chosen to move through this journey together.
“And two shall become 3. Indeed this is what only GOD can do.”

Veekee James just gave us the ultimate birthday glow-up. Turning 31, she stepped out in a black gown that feels like pure magic under the lights. This is not just a dress. It is a full statement.
The long-sleeve, floor-sweeping piece hugs her figure perfectly while sparkling from every angle. Thousands of silver beads and crystals catch the light with every move, creating beautiful diagonal patterns that flow down the body and into a dramatic train. The high neckline with sheer panels adds a touch of bold elegance, and the fitted silhouette shows off her shape in the most striking way.
What hits hardest is the gown’s magnetic energy. The rich black base delivers instant drama while the dazzling silver details ignite with every shift of light. That dramatic overhead glow makes the entire look come alive, turning her into a vision of unstoppable confidence.

Veekee paired the gown with soft, straight hair that falls beautifully and minimal accessories that let the dress do all the talking. The result is pure confidence. She looks strong, radiant, and ready to own this new chapter.
This birthday style proves you can celebrate a new age with both fire and sophistication. The dress works for red carpets, milestone moments, or anyone who wants to feel like a star.

This Turquoise Reception Gown Delivers the Kind of Drama Every Bride Dreams Of

Not every bride wants to disappear into tradition. Some want colour, movement, and a look that feels alive the moment they step into the room. The best reception looks have one thing in common. They know how to create excitement before a single word is spoken. This turquoise gown does exactly that.
From a distance, the colour immediately draws attention. It is bright, celebratory, and full of life, making it a refreshing choice for a bride who wants something beyond the expected. The shade feels bold enough for a grand occasion while still carrying the softness that bridal fashion is known for.
What makes the gown particularly successful is the way every detail works toward the same goal. The fitted upper silhouette creates a clean, elegant shape, while the sparkling embellishments add light and dimension. Rather than covering the entire look with excessive decoration, the design carefully places its details where they will have the most impact.
The red accents across the chest bring an unexpected twist. They introduce contrast, break up the sea of turquoise, and add visual interest without distracting from the overall elegance of the gown. It is a small detail that gives the design a stronger identity.

The ruffled lower half is where the gown truly earns its spotlight moment. These are not delicate decorative frills. They are bold, architectural layers that create shape, movement, and presence. Whether standing still for portraits or moving across the dance floor, the gown never looks flat. It keeps shifting, creating different angles and dimensions with every step.
The sheer sleeves also help balance the statement-making elements. They soften the look while adding a modern touch to an otherwise regal design. Combined with the structured fit through the waist and hips, they help create a silhouette that feels both flattering and sophisticated.
This is the type of reception gown that understands celebration. It is glamorous without feeling stiff, dramatic without feeling excessive, and elegant without losing its sense of fun.
For brides who want colour, personality, and a memorable fashion moment, this turquoise masterpiece delivers all three with pure glam.

Nigeria has a new beauty queen, and she is already turning heads. Tamunosoye Karibi-George was crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026 on Saturday night at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos, emerging victorious from a field of 20 finalists who competed under the theme, Pride, Power, and Purpose.
The grand finale, organised by the Silverbird Group, celebrated more than beauty. Throughout the competition week, contestants participated in leadership training, advocacy projects, and community-focused activities designed to showcase the qualities expected of a modern Miss World representative.
When the final results were announced, Tamunosoye, a 26-year-old contestant representing Bayelsa State, claimed the coveted crown and officially became Nigeria’s representative on the global Miss World stage.
She succeeds Joy Mojisola Raimi, Miss World Nigeria 2025, who delivered an impressive performance at the 72nd Miss World pageant in India, finishing in the Top 20 and ranking among the Top 5 contestants from Africa.

For pageant followers, Tamunosoye’s victory may not come as a surprise. The Port Harcourt native already has an impressive record in the beauty pageant world. In December 2024, she represented Nigeria at Miss Africa International in Accra, Ghana, where she emerged as the overall winner.
That international experience could prove valuable as she prepares for her next major challenge.
Speaking on the purpose of the competition, Silverbird Group President and National Director of Miss World Nigeria, Guy Murray-Bruce, reiterated that the platform is designed to empower young Nigerian women and highlight leadership, purpose, and meaningful impact in society.
Now, all eyes are on Vietnam. Tamunosoye Karibi-George will represent Nigeria at the 75th Anniversary Miss World Festival, scheduled to take place from August 9 to September 5, 2026. The international competition will conclude with a grand finale in Ho Chi Minh City, where contestants from around the world will compete for the prestigious blue crown.
She also carries with her the hopes of a nation that has enjoyed memorable moments at Miss World, including Agbani Darego‘s historic victory in 2001, which made her the first Black African woman to win the global title.
From elegant evening gowns to stunning fashion moments throughout competition week, Tamunosoye consistently proved why she was one of the strongest contenders for the crown.
