Man Utd Want Pio Esposito Amid Joshua Zirkzee Swap Deal Chance

Published

on

Manchester United are in the market for a new potential striker target, as TeamTalk reports that the club went on a scouting mission to monitor one star on the club’s shortlist.

The striker position is an area that the Red Devils have worked hard to improve, with Rasmus Hojlund leaving the club last summer before the arrival of Benjamin Sesko.

The 23-year-old wasn’t the complete package, but over time there were signs that he is capable of competing in the Premier League at the highest level.

There have also been chances for Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha as the number nine, but the summer transfer window could offer a chance to add another star into the ranks.

Pio Esposito Scouted By Man United

Inter Milan's Francesco Pio Esposito celebrates

According to a report from TeamTalk, Manchester United recently spent time scouting Italy international Pio Esposito, as the star featured in friendly matches against Greece and Luxembourg.

The Red Devils are believed to be interested in the 20-year-old after monitoring him for a considerable amount of time, with the most recent matches only hardening their belief that he could be a top player in the future.

It’s unclear whether a move will be launched this summer, and indeed whether Esposito himself would be open to a switch to Old Trafford if the club came calling.

However, the ‘complete #9’ is one of several options that Man United are considering as they assess the forward options available before next season.

Esposito showed signs of quality throughout the most recent campaign for Inter Milan, scoring ten goals and assisting six across all competitions.

That led to some praise from manager Cristian Chivu, who believes the striker has it all, when he said last September: “The strikers complete each other… Pio can do a bit of everything. I’m happy for him.”

Other clubs are believed to be on alert over a possible deal, though no transfer valuation has been set on the youngster by Inter as things stand.

The report adds that Esposito wasn’t the only player being scouted, as Greek duo Christos Tzolis and Christos Mouzakitis were also being monitored in the most recent match.

Any move could hinge on the future of Joshua Zirkzee, however, in a deal that could take a twist.

Joshua Zirkzee Swap Chance

While Man United hold interest in Inter Milan star Esposito, there is similar interest from the Nerazzurri in Joshua Zirkzee this summer.

The report claims that the interest adds an “interesting” subplot to potential discussions over a deal for the strikers in the coming weeks that have an impact.

Zirkzee is being heavily linked with an exit from Old Trafford this summer after a lack of game time, as the striker has struggled to make an impression in the Premier League so far.

Any move for a striker this summer could depend on a sale in the frontline, most likely to be the Dutch international, to help address the balance in the squad.

That could throw up the possibility of a swap deal being on the cards, but would depend on the enthusiasm of Inter Milan to see Esposito move the other way, as well as the figures involved.

It remains to be seen what could come of the interest, but it sets up an intriguing few months for Man United on the transfer front.

Tottenham In Talks Over Deal to Sign Cody Gakpo

Tottenham Hotspur are in contact over a deal to sign unhappy Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, according to TEAMtalk.

Tottenham clearly mean business in the upcoming summer transfer window, which officially opens on June 15, with defence a clear priority.

Spurs have completed the signing of Premier League and Champions League winner Andy Robertson on a free transfer, with Marcos Senesi set to follow on a similar deal imminently after he left Bournemouth following the expiry of his contract.

The north Londoners are also working on a deal to sign another Premier League centre-back in Jan Paul van Hecke, with the player agreeing personal terms to join Tottenham and only wanting them, according to reports in his homeland.

Spurs have already had two bids rejected for the Netherlands international, but GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs claims that they plan to lodge a third bid, with sources close to a deal believing an agreement is reached.

Should Tottenham land all three, then attentions will turn to the other end of the pitch where they look to need reinforcements following the exit of Randal Kolo Muani following the end of his loan spell from Paris Saint-Germain.

Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert could both be out until 2027, or just before, leaving Roberto De Zerbi short of attacking options.

Tottenham Informed of Cody Gakpo Developments

One player Tottenham are in talks over a deal for is Cody Gakpo of Liverpool, according to TEAMtalk.

The Netherlands international was one of many Reds players whose performances this season declined following a Premier League title-winning 2024-25 campaign.

Gakpo is now said to be concerned about his role in the starting XI moving forward following the dismissal of Arne Slot, with talk that Rio Ngumoha could be preferred ahead of him, amid confirmed interest from Bayern Munich in the 17-year-old.

However, the club is not actively looking to sell their £250,000-a-week player, although he also isn’t considered untouchable should a big offer arrive.

Gakpo would be in demand if he got the green light to leave Anfield, with Tottenham and Aston Villa both being informed about developments over the forward’s future, with further interest from AC Milan, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Besiktas and Fenerbahce.

Tottenham Working on Savinho Transfer

Gakpo isn’t the only forward and left-sided player Tottenham are looking at this summer, with Fabrizio Romano claiming the club are working on and making progress in their bid to sign Savinho from Manchester City.

Spurs wanted to sign the Brazilian 12 months ago, before he ended up staying at the Etihad. Now they are looking to seal the signing, with a separate report from Italy suggesting the 22-year-old has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract.

Tottenham still need to find a club-to-club agreement with City to get a deal over the line.

The north Londoners could look at signing a new centre-forward too, with doubts raised over the futures of Richarlison and Dominic Solanke in recent weeks.

Should one of those two leave, Spurs would likely need another centre-forward option to come in for De Zerbi.

There were major fears after former Tottenham and Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen collapsed during Denmark’s friendly match against Ukraine on Sunday evening. Thankfully, the player has now confirmed that he is ‘doing well’ as he recovers.

Five years ago, during a Euro 2020 match on 12 June 2021, the 34-year-old

collapsed on the pitch against Finland after suffering a cardiac arrest. He was given CPR and was later fitted with an ICD. He returned to the sport inside a year and has since played for Brentford, Man Utd, and is currently with VfL Wolfsburg.

For the first time since that original incident, Eriksen then fell to the ground clutching his heart during the second half of Denmark’s game against Ukraine on 7 June. The match was called off in the 65th minute, with the midfielder rushed off the pitch and taken to hospital.

Shortly afterwards, the Danish Federation were able to confirm that Eriksen was ‘conscious and doing well under the circumstances’. The player has now provided an update on his health, issuing a statement from his official social media account:

“I want to let everyone know that I am doing well and that I am home with my family. As you can probably imagine, receiving a shock from my ICD has a major impact on both me and my family, but I want to reassure everyone that this was a different situation from what happened in 2021.

“I am feeling good, and my recovery has already started. “In addition to being grateful for the support and assistance of all the players and the medical team on the field, I am also incredibly grateful to the doctors who have cared for me and my heart over the years.

“Thanks to their expertise, my ICD did exactly what it was designed to do: protect me when I needed it. For now, my focus is on recovering, spending time with my family, going on vacation, and playing football with my children.”

Denmark FA Announce Special Measures For Players After Christian Eriksen Collapses Again

Unclear if Erkisen Plans to Retire With One Year Left on Wolfsburg Contract

After the scary moment, there have been plenty of calls for the midfielder to call it quits on his career. It remains to be seen if the 34-year-old will now retire, but he has one more year left on his contract at Wolfsburg and did not directly comment on the matter during his statement.

Teammates certainly won’t want to witness such potentially traumatic scenes again, and the Danish FA have even announced that special measures have been put in place to make sure the squad feel supported. Danish Football Association director Peter Moller confirmed:

“We have made sure that no one travels home alone. They either travel home with parents, family or with each other as a group.

“I also know that Brian [Riemer] will be calling each player in the coming days and asking how they are doing and if they need anything.”

Having failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, Denmark aren’t in action again until September 24, when they face Norway in the Nations League. It’s unclear if Eriksen has any chance of being involved.

Kim Kardashian Slammed For Second ‘Classless’ Act at Monaco Grand Prix

Published

Sunday’s Monaco Grand Prix was full of headline-making moments. From Max Verstappen’s Red Bull stalling on the grid to Charles Leclerc’s race-ending crash that resulted in a red flag that temporarily halted the Grand Prix, there were plenty of highlights to enjoy long before Mercedes‘ Kimi Antonelli took the chequered flag.

However, the biggest viral moment of the afternoon came courtesy of influencer and reality television star, Kim Kardashian. The American socialite was attending the race in support of her boyfriend, Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton.

In the build-up to the race, Kardashian was taking in the atmosphere on the grid when she was approached by Sky Sports’ Martin Brundle. The much-loved broadcaster is famed for his quirky chats with celebs while walking the grid prior to races.

Kim Kardashian Angered Fans With Her Behaviour at Monaco Grand Prix

Kim wasn’t in the mood to engage Brundle and was heavily criticised online for her decision to blank the veteran Formula One personality.

Her pre-race conduct, though, wasn’t the only time she came under the microscope for her behaviour at Circuit de Monaco.

Having watched her partner claim his second-successive P2 finish, Kardashian again caught the attention of F1 fans for all the wrong reasons.

Kim was captured on camera in the waiting area before Antonelli, Hamilton and third-placed Isack Hadjar took to the podium. Fans spotted the polarising star helping herself to the towel that had been reserved for the race winner from Mercedes.

Kardashian treated the situation as a playful joke, but that wasn’t the way that fans saw the situation, with many upset that she had picked up an item that was specifically reserved for the winner of the race.

“Literally, who does she think she is? Wow,” exclaimed one user. A second chimed in: “Totally classless”.

“The fact that she completely ignored Brundle during the grid walk had me enraged already. This takes the cake,” declared a third, while a final fan summed up the general feeling towards Kardashian’s actions.

“It was never just about a towel. It’s about a growing feeling that some celebrity guests treat the paddock and podium like a VIP lounge. The spotlight should be on the people who earned the moment, not the guests who were invited to watch it.”

Lewis Hamilton

Despite the largely negative reaction Kardashian received, Hamilton made it clear that he was delighted that his partner had come to support him.

“It is amazing to have her come this weekend and to have that support. It is amazing to have good people around you, good people supporting you, and she does that for me every day,” he told reporters after the race.

While Kardashian continues to date Hamilton, it seems likely that F1 will need to get used to her presence on the grid from time to time.
