West Ham striker Callum Wilson has agreed a new deal, despite being in talks to leave the club over the last few months, according to The Telegraph.
Wilson made the move to West Ham in August, joining the club on a free transfer after leaving Newcastle. The English forward struggled for minutes in the opening half of the season, but he’s become a more important player over the last few months.
The 34-year-old hasn’t been a guaranteed starter for West Ham lately, but he was given an opportunity to start against Fulham in the Premier League at the weekend.
The former Newcastle man is an important player for Nuno Espirito Santo, and his experience and goalscoring ability could be crucial for them in the coming months as they fight to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Wilson Agrees One-Year Deal
According to a report from The Telegraph, West Ham striker Wilson has agreed a new one-year contract extension, which will see him remain at the club for the 2026/2027 campaign.
It’s a dramatic turnaround for Wilson, who held talks over terminating his contract in the January transfer window, with interest from English clubs as well as Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia.
West Ham boss Nuno previously confirmed that he and Wilson held honest discussions about his situation at the club.
“We were honest with each other. Yes, your position has changed, but you are still a player for the club and we still maybe need him and he should help us because he joined us.”
