Mohamed Salah’s agent has issued a statement following the Egyptian’s bombshell announcement that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old forward posted an emotional video to his social media accounts on Tuesday evening, saying ‘the day has come’ to end his nine-year spell at Anfield.
Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, took to X shortly after the surprise announcement and confirmed that there is not yet a plan in place for where the Liverpool star will play next.
Despite having a contract for another season, Salah will be leaving Liverpool on a free transfer, with an agreement with the Anfield club already in place.
Agent Speaks on Mohamed Salah’s Future
Salah’s agent posted a statement on X shortly after the Egyptian’s bombshell announcement. As relayed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, he confirmed that ‘no one knows’ where the 33-year-old will be playing next season.
Salah helped Liverpool to their second-ever Premier League title last season, scoring 29 goals and providing 18 assists in a victorious campaign.
The Egyptian forward has struggled to replicate his best form in a difficult 2025/26 campaign for the Merseysiders, netting just five times in 22 league outings so far.
Salah was linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League earlier in the campaign, and it is believed that Saudi dealmakers retain an interest in the forward ahead of the summer.
The 33-year-old was the subject of a rejected £150m bid from Al-Ittihad in the summer of 2023.
