With the future of LIV Golf uncertain in the wake of recent financing issues, a league that has drawn headlines since its inception for massive cash incentives may find itself unable to remain operational.
LIV Golf began in 2022, positioning itself as a rival to the PGA Tour. With its launch came multiple defections from high-profile players, with names such as Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson all jumping ship.
LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neill has sent round an email to the players and the staff and it’s now been released to the public.
With the addition of these big names to their roster, the league had many eyes on it from day one. One of the key elements that drew these players away from the PGA Tour was the huge cash incentives that LIV Golf offered. The upstart league is funded by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and this backing gave them the freedom to offer huge money to players, drawing them away from the traditional golfing status quo.
In the years since the league began, many players have cashed in by signing with this disruptive new organisation. These are the 10 golfers that have made the most money – not including signing bonuses – in their time with LIV.
10 Patrick Reed
$37.5 million
Reed joined LIV Golf in its first season, beginning a stint that lasted until the end of his 2025 campaign. He is now returning to the PGA Tour, looking to rejoin in a full-time capacity by 2027.
In his time at LIV, he managed 12 finishes in the top five, with one of those being a win in Dallas in 2025. His earnings over those four years are just shy of the $40.6 million he earned in nine years as a PGA Tour member.
9 Branden Grace
$39.3 million
Grace also began his time with LIV Golf in 2022. He managed a victory in his first-ever season, going home with the trophy in Portland, and has posted nine individual top five finishes alongside this.
His earnings on LIV more than triple the money he made in his career on the PGA Tour. He remains with the league to this day as a member of the Southern Guards.
8 Brooks Koepka
$44.7 million
Koepka was one of the big-name signings that sparked conversation during the launch of LIV Golf. Making his debut in 2022, he played four seasons before deciding to turn back in favour of returning to the PGA Tour.
In his four seasons, he won five events and managed nine top five finishes. His earnings in his four years with LIV very nearly match that of his eight-year career on the PGA Tour to date.
7 Sergio Garcia
$46.4 million
Garcia is one of the main names in LIV Golf today. He has achieved 11 finishes in the top five, with two individual wins. He is captain of Fireballs GC, and remains a big part of the league.
His earnings are not too far shy of the $55 million he made in his celebrated long career with the PGA Tour, joining and winning his first tournament in 2001.
6 Cameron Smith
$50.9 million
Smith joined LIV in the 2022 season, and remains in the league to this day as a member of the Ripper GC. He has won three events in this time, posting nine top five finishes.
His earnings to date dwarf the $29.5 million he made on the PGA Tour.
5 Bryson DeChambeau
$58.4 million
A huge signing for LIV Golf at their inception, DeChambeau has had a huge amount of success in the league. He has posted 11 top 10 finishes alongside five victories.
DeChambeau remains with the league to this day, with his earnings massively outweighing the $36.9 million he made in his PGA Tour career, which began in 2016.
4 Dustin Johnson
$64.1 million
One of just four golfers to make over $60 million in their time at LIV Golf, Johnson’s transition from top name on the PGA Tour has been a huge success. He turned pro in 2007, competing on the PGA Tour for many years before his move away from the organisation.
In his four years with the new league, his earnings are just shy of the $75 million he made in his career with the PGA Tour.
3 Talor Gooch
$68.7 million
The top player in the league in 2023, Gooch has had an incredibly successful career at LIV. His transition away from the PGA Tour, where he made $9.3 million in total, has been incredibly fruitful.
Gooch has won three events since his debut in 2022. To top this off, he has also managed nine top five finishes.
2 Joaquin Niemann
$71.6 million
The second-highest earning golfer in the organisation, Niemann’s 17 top five finishes and six event wins have made his transition to LIV Golf incredibly successful.
His PGA Tour earnings of $15.8 million in four years of competition make this four-year stint a huge win for the Chilean golfer.
1 Jon Rahm
$87.7 million
Since the launch of LIV Golf, Rahm has made more than every golfer outside of the four leading PGA Tour members in their entire career. This fact is made even more shocking by the fact that he only debuted for the league two years after it started, being the best player every year since joining.
In only two complete seasons, and the season that is currently underway, he has managed 20 top five finishes and three victories. In his 31 tournaments, he has only finished outside the top 10 one time.
In the three seasons of competition, Rahm’s earnings dwarf the $53.6 million he made in eight years on the PGA Tour.
Julian Alvarez has already made his decision over a potential move to Arsenal after Atletico Madrid reportedly agreed to sell the Argentina international to the Premier League club.
The South American netted 36 goals in 103 games for Man City, winning two Premier League titles in the process, but decided to leave the Etihad Stadium in order to become first choice striker under Diego Simeone in the Spanish capital.
In 106 games for Atletico, Alvarez has scored 49 goals. He bagged 29 goals in 57 games during his debut campaign at the Metropolitano Stadium before hitting 20 in 49 matches last term.
His eye-catching performances have left him high on several top European clubs’ summer transfer wish-lists.
Barcelona met with Alvarez’s representatives in May, per ESPN, after being informed the Argentine preferred a move to Camp Nou over Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
Atletico subsequently accused Barcelona of a “relentless smear campaign” in their pursuit of the 26-year-old World Cup winner.

Atletico Open to Selling Alvarez to Arsenal

While Atletico remain determined not to sell Alvarez to a direct La Liga rival, they are now open to selling the player to Premier League champions Arsenal, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Atleti fans made their feelings clear towards Alvarez during a recent 2-0 win over Malaga. The striker was omitted from the matchday squad amid the ongoing transfer controversy but still received hostile chants from the club’s supporters.
In response, Atletico boss Simeone told reporters, per GOAL: “I have great respect for our people. We are open – as we always say – to specific possibilities. You know this after 15 years, I always say that until the window closes, I am open to anything that might happen. That doesn’t mean I’m talking about any specific individual, is that clear?”
Meanwhile, eye-opening images comparing Alvarez’s 2026-27 pre-season photo to 2024-25 and 2025-26 have gone viral on social media.
Alvarez Not Interested in Arsenal Move
Despite the fact the relationship between unsettled Alvarez and Atletico is currently on the rocks, Alvarez has no desire to join Arsenal, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The report says Alvarez will only leave Atletico for his “dream” destination: Barcelona.
It seems the Argentine – who has an astronomical €500 million release clause – is determined to link up with his former Man City teammate Rodri at Camp Nou before the transfer window closes.
It remains to be seen whether a move to Arsenal will become more appealing to Alvarez the closer we edge to the September 1 deadline day.
Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz are currently Arsenal’s first-choice forwards, but Alvarez would have the potential to be a game-changing signing for the Gunners.
Tottenham Hotspur have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City to sign Savinho in a deal worth in excess of £75m, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Spurs have had a strong interest in the Brazil winger for well over 12 months after trying to sign him last summer, before City decided against allowing him to move on and tied him down to a new long-term contract.
But after a season of struggling to feature regularly in the first-team under Pep Guardiola, the north London club have now pushed to get a deal done, and an agreement has finally been reached to add him to Roberto De Zerbi’s squad.
According to a report by the ever-reliable Romano, the two clubs have now reached a verbal agreement for a deal worth more than £75m, and the player is set to travel for a medical with Spurs ahead of the season opener this weekend.
A move to Tottenham could be exactly what he needs to kick-start his career in the Premier League, and Spurs are now pushing to make it happen.
Former Tottenham striker Mido posted on X back in April 2024, suggesting that he previously advised Tottenham to sign Mohamed Salah while he was still at Basel.
Mido also suggests in the same post that he has another suggestion for Tottenham.
Over two years ago, the former Egyptian international urged Daniel Levy to sign Marmoush while he was at Eintracht Frankfurt.
It looks as though Tottenham are finally getting the man Mido wanted, despite Marmoush being set to play under a different manager and ownership than the one in charge two years ago.
Savinho could complete exciting double deal

Although Tottenham shouldn’t be signing players based on the recommendations of some of their former stars, Mido was certainly correct in his praise for Marmoush.
The Egyptian forward went on to join Manchester City shortly after Mido hyped the attacker, and it could be an exciting addition for Spurs.
Bringing in both Marmoush and Savinho would significantly improve Tottenham’s attacking options, giving Roberto De Zerbi plenty to work with.
Although the focus has been on how significantly Tottenham have spent in the middle of the park, we could see a huge double deal in the forward line over the coming weeks.
