Commissioner of Police, Delta Command, Yemi Oyeniyi, has revealed how the command arrested two traffickers who allegedly removed a victim’s womb without her consent.

He disclosed this during his first-quarter briefing in Asaba, Delta State, stating that two key suspects are currently in custody.

The CP said, “On the 3rd of April 2026, at about 1730 hours, a report was received from a woman (name withheld) from Ekpan community, Uvwie, that her daughter (name withheld), aged 19, who stays with her father at Okpaka, visited her in Ekpan.

“She noticed that the girl was looking sick, which made her ask questions.

“The 19-year-old girl stated that in September 2025, she and two of her friends met one Blessing Mongo ‘f’, aged 47, who introduced them to one Esther ‘f’, aged 32, who also introduced them to another lady named Onome ‘f’, aged 36, for the purpose of trafficking to Ivory Coast for prostitution.

“The victim stated that days after her arrival in Ivory Coast, she was injected with an unknown substance and rushed to the hospital. By the time she woke up, she noticed that her tummy was bandaged.

“The suspect later brought her back to Nigeria and abandoned her in Lagos. She then found her way back to Delta State. Upon receipt of this complaint, the command arrested two suspects, namely Blessing Mongo ‘f’, aged 47, and Esther ‘f’, aged 32.

“After preliminary investigation,” he continued, “the case was immediately transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.

“During the course of investigation, a medical examination was carried out and it was discovered that the traffickers removed her womb without her consent before returning her to Nigeria,” Oyeniyi revealed.

In another development, the CP stated that the command will no longer involve itself in land disputes or any civil matters.

He said this followed constant accusations that police officers were being used by land grabbers to unjustly intimidate opponents.

“There have been a litany of incidents where policemen were accused of being used by desperate land grabbers as tools for intimidating their opponents. We have to put a stop to such illegal interventions.

“The activities of land grabbers in the state have caught our attention. The command wishes to state clearly that the police will not get involved in land disputes or any civil matters.

“However, it is the constitutional responsibility of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure protection of life and property, maintenance of law and order, among other duties. Hence, the command will not tolerate any individual or group that employs violence in their activities.

“The command, therefore, advises aggrieved parties to seek civil redress in court and not resort to self-help,” he warned.

A young boy identified as Umar, from Magami town in Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, has vowed to join the Nigerian Army and seek justice for his father, who was allegedly killed by suspected bandits.

This emerged from a video shared on X on Tuesday by Bakatsine, a journalist who reports on conflict and insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West region.

In the video, the boy narrated how he witnessed the killing of his father, an experience he said inspired his desire to become a soldier.

Speaking in Hausa during the interview, Umar said his father was attacked and killed shortly after returning from the market.

According to him, his father had harvested seven baskets of red pepper, sold them, and used the proceeds to purchase food items, including rice, for the family.

He said his father had planned for the family to share a meal together and had gone to fetch fresh pepper for soup when the attack occurred.

“He came back after harvesting seven baskets of pepper. He bought food items and rice for us. He wanted us to cook and eat together, but as he was returning from the farm, they killed him,” Umar said.

The boy further alleged that the attackers later forced their way into the family home and assaulted members of the household.

When asked about his future ambitions, Umar said he wanted to become a soldier, adding that the killing of his father influenced his decision.

He expressed a desire to take revenge against those responsible for the attack, while also praying for God’s mercy on his late father and other victims of violence.
