Man Utd Eyeing Shock Deal to Sign France Winger Moussa Diaby
Manchester United are looking to bolster their forward options this summer, and a shock new name has emerged as a potential target.
The Red Devils have made adding new central midfielders to their squad a priority, with a deal for Brazilian star Ederson understood to be close to being agreed, while talks are ongoing for other options including Mateus Fernandes to join him.
But a new left-winger is also expected to be on the agenda for the window, with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho set to depart permanently, and Yan Diomande seemingly out of the club’s price range.
Man Utd Eyeing Shock Moussa Diaby Deal
Diaby, who joined Al-Ittihad from Aston Villa in a £52m deal in 2024, has enjoyed a fine spell in Saudi Arabia since leaving, and is now attracting interest from a number of clubs in Europe about a return to the continent.
The France international currently earns £385,000-a-week in the Middle East, and it’s reported by MediaFoot that Manchester United are among the clubs showing an interest in a deal to bring him back.
Diaby enjoyed a fine spell in the Premier League previously while with Aston Villa, scoring ten goals and registering nine assists in 54 appearances for the club across all competitions.
The 26-year-old is understood to be open to a move back to Europe, and Al-Ittihad are open to allowing him to return, but they are yet to set an asking price to start negotiations with.
AC Milan have already made contact with his representatives over a potential move to Italy, while Inter are also keen on a deal. Man Utd’s interest is not as advanced, but it is genuine, and they could look to make a move if interest in other targets fails to materialise into anything.
Diaby Would Be an Odd Man Utd Signing
While Diaby enjoyed a fine spell in the Premier League with Aston Villa, and has done a tremendous job in the Saudi Pro League with Al-Ittihad, netting 11 goals and registering 31 assists in 71 appearances.
He is still at the peak of his powers too, at just 26 years of age, but there is a reason why Villa allowed him to leave the club after just one year, and it won’t have been purely for financial reasons.
Diaby is simply not good enough to be playing at the very highest level in England, and considering the major wages he’d command and the likely high transfer fee, this is a deal that simply needs to be avoided at all costs by the Old Trafford decision makers.

Man Utd Target Newcastle’s Lewis Hall in £50m+ Summer Transfer
Manchester United are eyeing a summer transfer window move to sign a player Christopher Vivell knows from his time at Chelsea.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with bringing in a host of new midfielders ahead of the summer, but they are likely to strengthen in multiple positions.
United qualified for the Champions League last season after a resurgence under Michael Carrick, who joined the club in January. They’ll need a deeper, stronger squad to compete in Europe.
Although Carrick did a phenomenal job in turning things around, they didn’t have the distraction of European football and the hectic fixture schedule that comes with that.
As a result, they will need reinforcements to deal with playing twice a week and competing on all fronts.

Man Utd Eyeing Newcastle Star
According to a report from The Athletic, Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall is one of the options being considered by Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.
Hall is a player who crossed paths with director of recruitment Vivell during their time at Chelsea, so he’s someone the United chief knows very well.
Hall, described as elite, could be on the move in the summer transfer window, and any deal is likely to be north of £50 million.
Newcastle aren’t hoping to sell the 21-year-old this summer, but they are expected to reshape their squad after a disappointing season.
The Magpies could be forced to cash in on some players after they fail to qualify for European football.
Man Utd Need Left-Back Reinforcements
Although Luke Shaw appears to have got over his injury issues, starting every single Premier League game during the 2025-2026 season, United do need another option at left back.
Shaw is set to turn 31 next month, so United do need to sign a long-term replacement for the English defender.
One of United’s backup left backs, Tyrell Malacia, has left the club following the expiration of his contract.
Hall is already an established Premier League defender, and at the age of 21, he has yet to reach his full potential.
There’s no doubt the Newcastle left-back would be a smart signing for the Red Devils if they can secure his signature this summer.

Yan Diomande Summer Transfer Preference Revealed
Liverpool have been given a huge boost in their attempts to sign an Diomande from RB Leipzig this summer, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Diomande is in high demand this summer after an impressive season in the Bundesliga and wants to join Liverpool, according to reports.
The 19-year-old had 23 goal involvements – scoring 13 and assisting 10 – as the German side finished third in the Bundesliga, qualifying for next season’s UEFA Champions League.
That qualification for the Champions League could make things more difficult for interested parties to negotiate a deal, given Diomande would have elite level football to look forward to at Leipzig, but Liverpool are in talks with the German side to complete a deal.
Liverpool have competition to sign the teen star
However, they are not the only ones.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Many of you asking what’s happening with Yan Diomande, is he going to Liverpool or not? Look, Liverpool are in negotiations with Yan Diomande’s camp, so Liverpool are on it for sure.
“Paris Saint-Germain are on it as well, they are speaking with the player’s camp, they have genuine interest in Yan Diomande, so the battle is on.”
Diomande will be heading out to the United States of America, Canada and Mexico for the 2026 World Cup with the Ivory Coast this week, ahead of the tournament starting next week, and that throws a spanner in the works of any plans to thrash out a deal.
Liverpool would need to get a deal done quickly, before the tournament starts, or face having to wait until the African nation are knocked out to pick up negotiations again.
Romano revealed Diomande’s preference with transfer talks.
Can Liverpool get a deal done quickly for Diomande?
He added: “I can tell you that the preference from the player and the player’s camp would be to do the deal fast, before the start of the World Cup for the Ivory Coast so Yan Diomande can go to the World Cup without thinking about Liverpool or PSG. This is the feeling, they will try to accelerate the Diomande deal before the World Cup.
“I don’t know if it’s going to be possible because this will depend on Leipzig and it’s never easy to negotiate with Leipzig, we saw that with many players, they are tough, but Liverpool and PSG are both working on this one, both are involved.”
Leipzig have put a huge €120million (£103million) price tag on the young forward’s shoulders, which is another obstacle to overcome in a short space of time.

Emmanuel Petit Urges Arsenal to Sell 3 Players After Champions League Final
Emmanuel Petit has named the three players Mikel Arteta ‘has to show the exit door’ following Arsenal’s Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal enjoyed an incredible season as they were crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years.
They also reached the finals of both the Carabao Cup and the Champions League, where they were narrowly beaten on both occasions by Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
However, despite being named by data analysts as the best team in world football right now, the Gunners have plenty of areas where they can improve.
The 3 Players Emmanuel Petit Wants Arsenal to Sell
While Arsenal have been praised for their solidity in defence, their potency in attack has left a lot to be desired.
The Gunners drew criticism for their creativity from open-play, with many accusing them of being over-reliant at scoring from set-pieces.
Petit is of the opinion that many of their forwards are not good enough to play for the club anymore. Speaking to talkSPORT, he said:
“I think it’s easy to know what Arsenal are missing, for me it’s wingers. You need to have strong and powerful wingers with technical skills that can make a difference on the wings.”
He then name-dropped three players that Arsenal must sell this summer to make way for new recruits.
“Before bringing new players, they have to show some players the exit door too,” he added. “For me the likes of Martinelli, Jesus. Gyokeres – I don’t know because he just came into the club.
“Trossard I would keep him. Madueke for me isn’t good enough, I’m sorry to say that, but he must do much more than that to improve. But we definitely need wingers and probably one striker with pace, technical skills, great movement. We need to improve up front.”
Arsenal Linked With Premier League Wonderkid
Arsenal will no doubt splash the cash this summer and one player that they have been linked with is Bournemouth striker, Eli Junior Kroupi.
The Frenchman, just 19 years old, had an outstanding opening season in the Premier League with Bournemouth. He hit the back of the net 13 times, the highest number of goals scored by any teenager in a debut season in Premier League history.
His performances have attracted the attention of many of the world’s biggest clubs, with Arsenal highly interested.
According to BBC Sport, Aston Villa’s Morgan and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez also feature on their shortlist as they look to bolster their attack this summer.
Rogers and Kroupi are expected to cost in excess of £80m each, while Alvarez is being valued at over £120m.
