Celtic Working on Deal to Sign Haissem Hassan After Kasper Hogh

Published

on

Celtic are working on a deal to sign a second forward after Kasper Hogh as the Dane closes in on a move to Parkhead, according to a new update from Sky Sports.

After a slow start to the summer transfer window, Celtic chiefs have sprung into action and are currently working to make multiple signings for Martin O’Neill.

Colombian striker Camilo Duran is the only confirmed arrival so far after completing a move from Qarabag, but the Hoops are stepping up their efforts to bring in more players to a squad which underperformed and underwhelmed last term.

Additions look to be needed all across the pitch, but there appears to be a particular focus on bringing in more attackers alongside Duran in the coming days and weeks.

There is another spot in the squad in the forward areas after Daizen Maeda completed a move to Premier League side Ipswich Town on Saturday, while Kelechi Iheanacho turned down a contract offer to remain at Celtic Park, choosing to join Turkish side Bursaspor instead.

Celtic are closing in on a club-record £11m deal to sign Bodo/Glimt striker Hogh, who landed in Glasgow on Sunday evening ready to complete his big-money move to lead the line for O’Neill’s side next term.

The Denmark international won’t be the final signing in attack, if the club and O’Neill have their way.

According to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph, posting on X on Sunday evening, Celtic are also working on a deal to sign Real Oviedo winger Haissem Hassan, alongside their move for Hogh.

Some reports earlier on Sunday had suggested that the Hoops were closing in on an agreement with the Spanish side to bring the Egypt international to Scotland, but Joseph says that there is no club-to-club agreement yet.

Nevertheless, Celtic continue to work on a deal for the talented 24-year-old, who they want to add to their attack having been impressed by his performances for his country at the 2026 World Cup.

Celtic are working on more deals simultaneously too, with one of those being SC Paderborn midfielder Mika Baur.

The Bhoys had looked to be closing in on the signature of the German midfielder, but they are struggling to find an agreement with the German club over an acceptable fee for the 22-year-old, having seen a £4m bid rejected.

The Hoops are also in talks over a deal to bring James Penrice back to Scotland from AEK Athens, with the full-back seen as the ideal cover for Kieran Tierney.

The former Hearts star is said to be keen on a move back to Scotland and is ready to join Celtic to play Champions League football next term, even as a back-up player.

BBC Sports host Emma Louise Jones has now spoken out after suffering a wardrobe malfunction during her visit to the races in York. The presenter was covering the Yorkshire event for Raceday TV when the mishap happened.

Jones is well-known to fans of British sport, having previously worked as a presenter for Premier League club Leeds United, and recently bagged a role as a presenter for TNT Sports covering Speedway. Highlighting her popularity, she has 440,000 fans on Instagram.

Speaking at the York races for Raceday TV, she has explained why she had to change outfits during the event.

Emma Jones Explains Outfit Change

Speaking to her fans on social media, Jones revealed that a ‘wardrobe malfunction’ led to her changing her outfit earlier on in the day. She said:

“Fit check time. I had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction with the dress that I was supposed to be wearing today so I’ve gone back to my trusty polka dot number.”

Ironically, she then nearly had another wardrobe malfunction as she looked to show off the dress with a pirouette. She began, “I think I wore this at Ebor [festival] last year and my favourite thing about it is this,” as she spun around to display her outfit. As the bottom of the dress fanned out, however, a gust of wind nearly blew it up, with Jones catching the dress just in time.

With a knowing look on her face, she half-joked, “Ta da.”

Emma Jones Covers Multiple British Sports as a Presenter

As mentioned before, Jones doesn’t just cover the races but has also done presenting for Speedway. As quoted by the Daily Star, she admitted this role has brought a lot of pride for her family. The 36-year-old said:

“When I did the rugby league over at Odsal I saw the old track there. But I’ve not seen it in action. It would be nice to get it back in action wouldn’t it?

“I think this is the most proud my dad has been of me. He was like, ‘Emma I used to go and watch that as a kid, I love it.’ It’s been nice talking about it because it’s brought back nice memories for him.

“We’ve been to one of the events at Belle Vue Manchester at the National Speedway Stadium. He’s been giving me a semi-briefing on the history of the sport.”

She also covers football and once made headlines as she teased Robbie Savage after he called Manchester United bigger than Liverpool.

Donald Trump Made Strange 11-Word Comment to Wayne Rooney’s Wife

Coleen Rooney has revealed an awkward run-in with Donald Trump during her family’s time in the United States, recalling a comment that left her parents unimpressed and prompted Arsenal legend Ian Wright to brand the President a “freak.”

Wayne Rooney moved to MLS side D.C. United in 2018 after a storied career at Everton and Manchester United, before later managing Derby County and returning to the US in 2022.

According to The Mirror, it was during that first stint that Coleen and the couple’s four sons crossed paths with Trump at a White House Christmas event, an encounter she still remembers vividly for all the wrong reasons.

Speaking on Stick to Football, Coleen explained the moment that soured the meeting before it had really begun. “Well, my dad, he didn’t like what he said,” she recalled.

“So, when I came in, he said to his son, ‘See, I told you all the soccer players get the good-looking girls’. When I’ve come out, I’ve told my mum, she was like ‘Ergh’.”

The comment was enough to trigger a visibly unimpressed reaction from Wright, sat alongside Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Jill Scott and Roy Keane, who muttered his disapproval and called Trump a “freak” in response. Coleen added that the whole event itself was a strange experience, with her children ending up eating chicken nuggets on the floor beneath the tables.

The story didn’t end there either, with Coleen revealing how her youngest son Cass, now six, later brought the meeting up at school following Trump’s re-election.

“My youngest, obviously, when Trump’s been voted back in, they watch the news at school – he’s six,” she said. “So, he comes home and says, ‘I told the teacher that I’ve met Trump – she’s told me to send a photo in.’ I’m thinking she doesn’t believe him.” Cass duly sent proof in, much to his teacher’s surprise, with Jill Scott adding that she “definitely didn’t believe him.”

Adam Ramsay-Peaty Slammed For ‘Entitled’ Interview at Commonwealth Games

Adam Ramsay-Peaty has been featured in a lot of headlines over the last year but many of those headlines were not to do with his swimming. Instead, they were centered around his family, his wedding and a whole lot of drama.

Now the English swimmer has been making headlines again, but instead of it being a celebration for his bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, he is once again surrounded by drama after his post-race interview with BBC Sport showed the 31-year-old in a not very good light.

On Saturday, Ramsay-Peaty competed in the 100 meters breaststroke final and came away with a bronze medal to add to his collection. It was Sam Williamson who took the gold and Filip Nowacki with the silver.

All three competitors finished the race within 59 seconds, but it was the milliseconds that split them apart, with 59.17, 59.34 and 59.65 separating first, second and third. Ramsay-Peaty has gone quicker than this before, with his best time being 57.86, which is the current world record.

Holly Ramsay-Peaty, daughter of Gordon Ramsay and new wife of Adam, was seen in the crowd supporting her husband. Straight after he exited the pool, Peaty-Ramsay was seen heading straight over to his wife with both looking quite emotional. After being asked about his emotions and how they were after the race, the three-time Olympic gold medalist replied, saying: “Really? I think. I don’t know. I think I just work a lot harder than what it says on the scoreboard to be honest.”

The Englishman would have been expecting to come away with a lot more from this event and those feelings were clearly evident within him after he spoke to BBC Sport. He was seen saying: “I just think I deserve more.”

After the interview was released across their social media platforms, many commented on Ramsay-Peaty’s attitude and how it was rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way. One comment read: “Bit full of himself these days. Too much time with his father-in-law.”

Several other reactions reflected the general response to Ramsay-Peaty’s reaction: “Obviously not a better athlete than that or he would have placed higher. There were two competitors better on the night so suck it up.”

Another said: “A wee bit of humility wouldn’t go amiss, with a final comment reasoning: “You deserve what you got, everyone has the same 1 minute.”

This is not the end of the Commonwealth Games for him though, as today he still hopes to medal in the 50m breaststroke event, where he is the current world record holder.
