Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, on Sunday, received members of the Senator Magnus Abe-led Reconciliation Committee of the Rainbow Coalition in the state at the Government House in Port Harcourt.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the state, Kingsley Chinda, was also part of the visit.

The visit was part of efforts to boost reconciliation and strengthen robust political cooperation among stakeholders in the state.

This development came a few days after the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, revealed that a reconciliation committee headed by Abe had been set up as part of efforts to consolidate the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State.

Wike, former Rivers State governor, had pointed out that the committee was constituted to engage stakeholders and foster unity within the coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development further underscores ongoing efforts by political stakeholders to broaden the coalition and reconcile various interests across Rivers State.

Governor Fubara, who welcomed the committee at the Government House, was joined by other stakeholders during the visit.

Osun: It’s going to be bloody, Adeleke’s win a miracle — Rufai Oseni

Arise Television’s The Morning Show anchor, Rufai Oseni, has predicted a bloody Osun State governorship election.

He said it would be a “miracle” for Governor Ademola Adeleke to win amid what he described as the deployment of federal might.

Oseni made the remarks on Tuesday while analysing the forthcoming election.

According to him, the influence of the Federal Government would be a major factor in determining the outcome of the poll.

“Coming back to Osun elections, like I’ve been saying, the number one factor in this election is the power of federal might, and federal might has been used very well.

“That’s why I predicted it’s going to be a miracle if Adeleke passes this test because of federal might. And when I’m saying this, I’m saying this because I want the people of Osun to go out there and put their money where their mouth is,” he said.

While expressing concern over the possibility of violence during the election, Oseni alleged that people had already been injured in incidents linked to the poll.

“I’m not saying it to distract Osun people. Like I said before, this election will be very bloody. People were also hurt this morning.

“A few days to election, people were also hurt. So it’s going to be a bloody election. Pure and simple, because there are a lot of moving parts,” he added.

The broadcaster further argued that the  the presence of a strong third candidate could work against Adeleke, citing previous election patterns.

“And when you check election history, any time you have a cocktail of federal might and you have a big third candidate, it doesn’t favour Adeleke,” Oseni said.

Osun 2026: Why Adeleke deserves second term – Dele Momodu

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dele Momodu, has said that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, deserves a second term in the August 15 governorship election in the state.

In a post on his verified X handle on Tuesday, Momodu said the All Progressives Congress, APC, had turned Osun State into a theater of war.

According to him, the only sensible strategy was for all opposition parties to align immediately and back the Accord Party candidate and incumbent governor, Adeleke.

The publisher of Ovation Magazine also said that Governor Adeleke had been a global phenomenon who would easily defeat President Tinubu himself in a popularity contest.

“I make this declaration without equivocation, or any fear of contradiction. This is not based on friendship or family ties.

“Adeleke is the best amongst Nigerian Governors, in order of extraordinary performance in infrastructure, health, education, staff welfare, labour unions, agriculture, commerce, culture, women empowerment, youth integration, and so on.

“We should never supply the APC an easy alibi to rig the Osun gubernatorial election on August 15, 2026. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he tweeted.
