Aston Villa ‘Very Interested’ in ‘Spectacular’ Endrick
Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on Real Madrid star Endrick’s situation amid reported interest from Aston Villa. Unai Emery is now said to be looking to address his attack amid a busy window so far that has seen three significant incomings and the departures of Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers.
Johan Manzambi, Joao Gomes and Modou Keba Cissé have all been snapped up, and there is likely to be more as Villa look to maintain their momentum from last season, even in the absence of two of their most important players.
Real Madrid star Endrick is now being linked, with the striker potentially on the market following a busy summer at Bernabeu, and Villa have been credited with an interest.
Romano issues update on Villa’s interest in Endrick
Speaking on his YouTube show, transfer guru Romano addressed the Endrick situation. He said: “For Endrick, the next days are going to be important. On one side, Endrick wants to stay at Real Madrid. The player himself wants to stay at Real Madrid, wants to continue at Real Madrid, wants to try find a space and try be part of Jose Mourinho’s squad.
“On the other side, there are many players up front. They have Diomande now; Endrick can also play on the wing. They have Carlos Espi, new central striker like Endrick, Vinicius signed a new contract, so it’s full of players up front. And so what could happen around Endrick? My understanding is that the player will talk with his agents to understand what to do.
“He’s got a great eye for a goal, he’s incredibly fast and powerful.” – Carlo Ancelotti
“On one side, Endrick wants to stay. We have to see if they will decide, also Real Madrid, if they will decide to let Endrick go on loan. So, this will be the conversation. There are two clubs very interested in Endrick. One is Roma, the other one is Aston Villa.
“We cannot exclude more clubs to join the race if Endrick goes on loan, so we have to see what happens, but this has to start from Real Madrid and on player’s side, he wants to stay, but the conversations with his agents could be important.”
Real Madrid’s growing list of attackers
- Vinicius Jr
- Endrick
- Kyliam Mbappe
- Rodrygo
- Carlos Espí
- Brahim Diaz
- Yan Diomande
Endrick has been viewed as an exciting talent at Real Madrid, even if he has had to wait for his opportunities so far, leading to a loan spell with Lyon for the second half of last season.
“He’s a forward with attributes he’s shown off in this Copa run,” Carlo Ancelotti said back in 2025. “He’s got a great eye for a goal, he’s incredibly fast and powerful. He could use the ball better at times but he’s young and a fast learner. He could have got another goal and his shooting is quite spectacular. Endrick has shown his quality. He is a striker who, when he has opportunities in and around the box, shows the extraordinary technique that he has.”

Tottenham Would Become Title Contenders as Contact Made for Harry Kane Deal
Tottenham Hotspur have made a new stunning move to re-sign Harry Kane from Bayern Munich, in a deal that would have huge ramifications for their 2025-26 season aspirations.
Tottenham may have finished in 17th position and only avoided relegation to the Championship on the final day last season, but there is renewed hope and optimism under Roberto De Zerbi, with a successful summer transfer window behind them.
Spurs have been poor defensively across the three previous seasons, but De Zerbi and Spurs chiefs have moved to resolve that by adding three new faces to the backline during the close season.

Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke will add much-needed quality and Premier League experience for the Italian, while the north London outfit have also been boosted by the news that World Cup winner Pedro Porro and highly-rated centre-back Micky van de Ven have also both signed new long-term contracts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Their midfield options have been significantly boosted with the £185m double addition of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, who will compete with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Conor Gallagher and Archie Gray for the two starting spots in De Zerbi’s preferred formation.
The Italian has now turned his attentions to bolstering his forward line, with Savinho and Cody Gakpo his two preferred targets, according to GMS sources, but a striker could arrive too.
Harry Kane Makes Decision on Re-Joining Tottenham
According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham have made a fresh enquiry over bringing Kane back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, as they keep the door open to bringing the 33-year-old back to the club.
The talk all summer has been that the England captain will extend his contract with Bayern Munich, but until it is confirmed there is no doubt that clubs will be looking at whether they can persuade him to join them before the September 1 deadline.

The report says that both Spurs and Barcelona have done exactly that, although Bayern are accelerating talks behind the scenes to keep him at the Allianz Arena beyond 2027, when his current contract expires.
While the chance to return to Spurs at some point will always appeal to Kane, and it is something Tottenham want to explore now they have De Zerbi at the helm, he isn’t ready to do it right now.
Kane Would Launch Tottenham Into Title Contention
Tottenham’s summer business so far has been impressive, and will have generated admiring glances from some of their Premier League rivals.
With no European football to contend with in the upcoming season, Spurs have their 38 top flight fixtures, alongside potential progression in the Carabao and FA Cup to deal with, and nothing else.
It is something that benefitted Manchester United last term as they ended the campaign in third, and De Zerbi will be looking at the Red Devils as an example of what they can achieve in 2026-27.
Tottenham are determined to land Gakpo and Savinho in the next three weeks, and if they made it a trio of attacking signings with Kane, they would throw themselves into Premier League title contention just a few months after almost being relegated.
Arsenal will be the favourites again, while Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea will look to improve, but a Spurs side spearheaded by Kane would be a force to be reckoned with, given he has been described as ‘the best striker in the world’ by former Premier League midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker.
The striker is a Tottenham hero and a goal machine, as shown by 61 club goals last season, and you can’t underestimate the impact his return to north London would have on further reinvigorating the whole club.
Spurs have clearly tried to make it happen, and now they must wait to see if contract negotiations fall through so they can act and make the ultimate game-changing addition.

Every Major UK City Ranked on Number of Pubs Showing Football
Every major UK city, across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, has been ranked based on how many pubs it has showing live football ahead of the 2026/27 domestic season.
The recent study, carried out on behalf of Select Car Leasing, offers a fascinating glimpse into which cities boast the most football fever. And while the Premier League is the most-watched league in the world, cities in the Scottish Premiership give their neighbours a good run for their money.
Some surprising findings have emerged, including Liverpool ranking ahead of Glasgow and Manchester, while the top four all boast at least 100 pubs showing some sort of football at the weekend.
30-21
With just four pubs showing live football in Belfast, Northern Ireland’s capital city is far better known for its rugby and Gaelic sports, with bars far more likely to serve up live music than it is to show Linfield or the national team’s fixtures. Milton Keynes is next, with the up-and-coming area providing 11 places to watch the ‘footy’, while Bradford have 19 options and Luton have 24.
Fans will probably never find out if Lionel Messi can do it on a cold, wet Tuesday night in Stoke – but if they ever did, then 28 nearby pubs would witness it. A midlands’ trio of Wolverhampton, Derby (31 each), and Leicester (34) follow next, with the latter having enjoyed a period of unexpected success just several years ago, when the Foxes won the Premier League and FA Cup within just a few seasons of each other.
Reading’s tally of 35 is matched by that of newly-promoted Premier League outfit Hull. Unfortunately, the latter is expected to drop straight back into the Championship by a supercomputer, with expert opinions agreeing, but that doesn’t stop the fact their return to the big time will coincide with greater need to show the beautiful game across the Yorkshire city.

Coventry is another newly promoted Premier League side, with a tally of 35 pubs showing football, but unlike Hull, Jeff Stelling believes Frank Lampard’s side can exceed expectations and stay in the top flight for more than just one season. Birmingham City will be hoping their new owner and NFL legend Tom Brady can help reap similar rewards as the buzz around Birmingham continues to grow, while Northampton’s 40 pubs are concentrated within an area of just 31 miles.
Norwich, Aberdeen and Southampton are each just one pub shy of 50, with all three having enjoyed mixed amounts of success with their respective clubs in recent seasons. That is especially true of the Saints, who’d probably have been able to go toe-to-toe with the very best if they hadn’t sold pretty much all of their best emerging talent over the years.
Plymouth’s 56 live football pubs are something of a monopoly, with Exeter the only city within an hour of them, while Nottingham’s 62 pubs reflects a deep connection between residents and Nottingham Forest, who have won the lot in the past. Cardiff, with 64, is Wales’ go-to destination for watching football with a few drinks, while Sheffield just misses out on a place in the top 10.

10-1
In 10th and ninth, Leeds and Manchester would have been expected to rank a lot higher, given that both feature among the most passionate fanbases in English football. With City and United jostling for dominance in the north-west, it is perhaps surprising to find that Portsmouth, with 71, have more football-loving pubs.
There can be no shock, however, that Glasgow – home to Rangers and Celtic – has 75 pubs showing the beautiful game. In Scotland’s biggest city, football transcends politics and religion, but Brighton pip them to a spot in seventh, while Liverpool’s tally of 89 reflects a city known to have the highest concentration of Irish pubs outside of Ireland.
In fourth, and just missing out on a place on the podium, is Edinburgh. With 108 pubs, they still fall six short of Newcastle, while Bristol is the surprise second-placed city, with 116. Of course, first place was always going to go to the biggest city by a distance – London, which boasts a staggering 374, putting the ‘Big Smoke’ in a league of its own.

Unai Emery Pushing Aston Villa to Sign £115.000-a-Week Jonathan David
Aston Villa are being linked with a new striker in Jonathan David as Unai Emery looks to add a third frontman this summer. It has been a busy summer for the West Midlands side, who have not had the best preparation for their return to the Champions League.
Villa lost Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers to transfers, and Amadou Onana has been ruled out for much of the season after suffering a serious injury. That’s three vital players lost in one form or another, and while the likes of Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes have been signed, more quality and depth are required.
One area that certainly needs more depth is up top, with Villa only having two frontmen at present, which includes Ollie Watkins and Tammy Abraham. A third striker will be required for a competitive Champions League and Premier League campaign.
Villa now interested in Jonathan David
Villa are now said to be interested in a move for Juventus and Canada star David, who has struggled to make a name for himself with The Old Lady. David burst onto the scene with Lille and built up a reputation of being a top goalscorer, but after joining Juventus on a free transfer at the end of his contract in 2025, he has struggled to adjust, scoring only five goals in 35 league games.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Emery is now pushing Villa to sign David, but the club may have a problem with the player’s €6million salary, which is after tax, working out at around £115,000-per-week (£98,300) post-tax. Juventus are always seemingly willing to sell someone in their bid to keep turning over their squad, and they will reportedly look for around €30million, but it seems they are unlikely to get more than €20million, given David’s far from ideal form.
David’s last five league campaigns
- 2025/26 – Serie A – 6 goals in 35 games
- 2024/25 – Ligue 1 – 16 goals in 32 games
- 2023/24 – Ligue 1 – 19 goals in 34 games
- 2022/23 – Ligue 1 – 24 goals in 37 games
- 2021/22 – Ligue 1 – 13 goals in 37 games
David an ‘assassin’ of a striker
Former Canada boss John Herdman once described David as an ‘assassin’. He said: “Jonathan is one of those silent assassins. He’s very clued up tactically and that’s what I really enjoy about Jonathan, he really wants to get into the details of the game and understand the pressing tactics.”
“Jonathan is one of those silent assassins. He’s very clued up tactically and that’s what I really enjoy about Jonathan, he really wants to get into the details of the game and understand the pressing tactics.” – Former Canada boss, John Herdman
His former Lille boss, Bruno Genesio, added: “Scoring 101 goals speaks volumes… But it’s not just goals for me with Jona. He’s a player who plays a big part in the game and above all, a player who’s full of selflessness. He works enormously for the team. We all make an effort, but he’s the perfect example of our team at this level.”
