Broda Shaggi Hospitalised After Gunshot Injury in Sango-Ota During Skit Shoot
Popular Nigerian comedian and skit maker Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
According to reports by The Punch, as cited by Vanguard, the incident allegedly occurred on Sunday afternoon under the Sango-Ota bridge, although the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are still unclear.
Sources revealed that the content creator was filming a comedy skit at the location when the incident happened. A police source who spoke anonymously said Broda Shaggi was injured during the shoot and was immediately rushed to Blooming Care Hospital in the Alakuko area of Lagos State, where he received initial treatment.
“He was shooting a skit under the Sango-Ota bridge when he sustained a gunshot injury. We don’t have details on how it happened yet, but his crew members who were present quickly rushed him to the hospital,” the source reportedly disclosed. Medical personnel at the facility administered first aid upon his arrival.
Further findings indicated that he was later referred to Duchess Hospital in the Government Residential Area, Ikeja, where he is currently recuperating.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Abimbola Adebisi, said the hospital alerted authorities after the gunshot victim was brought in.
“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were immediately mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered that the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggi,” she stated.
She added that he was seen on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh and clarified that the incident occurred in Sango-Ota, which falls outside the jurisdiction of the Lagos State Police Command, but noted that investigations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said the incident had not yet been officially reported to the command at the time of filing the report.
As of now, Broda Shaggi’s management team has not released an official statement, and details about how the shooting occurred remain uncertain. Fans and colleagues across social media have begun expressing concern while awaiting further updates on his condition.
