Lyrics, video & meaning of Arsenal fans’ song

Published

on

The 2025-26 season will live long in the memory for a generation of Arsenal supporters after they witnessed the Gunners end a 22-year wait for Premier League glory.

The North London outfit saw off a formidable challenge from Pep Guardiola’s relentless Manchester City to clinch the title and a brand new chant was born in the process, adding to an already significant songbook.

It pays tribute to Declan Rice and the midfielder’s unyielding will to win, how he met with adversity and dragged his team-mates over the line when cracks began to appear.

Here, GIVEMESPORT brings you the story behind Arsenal fans’ new chant for the England international midfielder.

Declan Rice ‘He Said It’s Not Done’ Chant Lyrics

He said it’s not done!

He said it’s not done!

Declan Rice,

He said it’s not done!

Meaning of Declan Rice ‘He Said It’s Not Done’ Chant Explained

The lyrics to the chant are very simple – just one verse of four lines repeated – and they are a tribute to Rice’s defiant rallying cry during the Gunners’ Premier League title-winning campaign in 2025-26.

A pivotal moment during a riveting title race saw Manchester City defeat Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium in April, with a last-minute Erling Haaland goal giving Pep Guardiola‘s side maximum points and a psychological edge over their rivals.

Interestingly, however, when the game was over, the television cameras picked up a defining moment between Rice, who is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders in the world, and Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, with the England international declaring, “Hey! It’s not done. It’s not done yet!”

The Gunners responded to the loss against City by beating Newcastle United 1-0, with Rice acknowledging the importance of bouncing back straight away. He said: “After the week we had against Man City, there was a lot of encouragement to take from that game, but we knew coming into this, with five games left, we have to win all. To tick that one off today was a real boost.”

Hey! It’s not done. It’s not done yet!

Arsenal proceeded to win each of their remaining league games, overcoming Fulham by a score of 3-0, beating West Ham 1-0 and Burnley 1-0, then closing the season with a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace.

Pressure and Declan Rice’s ‘Strong Message’

When asked by Sky Sports during Arsenal’s trophy celebrations whether he believed it at the time, Rice explained: “I believed it 100 per cent. I took a lot from that game [the loss against Man City], but I also wanted to comfort my team-mates and calm everyone down.

“There were still five games to go, it wasn’t like it was the last game of the season. After that we started to become a little bit more free in our game. We started to play a little bit better and there was a little bit less pressure on us.

“In April and the end of March you could sense that there was a bit of pressure in our performances, but once that Man City game was over I said, ‘we’ve got this whole way top of the league, we’ve got five games, we can’t throw this away’. It was a strong message and it’s paid off.”

Rice’s will to win and his declaration that it wasn’t over even earned the admiration of Guardiola, who told Sky Sports: “I love that. I love that. That is why Arsenal are there.”

The Catalan coach added: “I loved it. I saw it and it shows what Declan Rice means, what the Arsenal mentality is. Of course it is Mikel (Arteta), but it’s about having the players who follow the message and be resilient in the bad moments.”

Tottenham Set To Confirm Double Deal For De Zerbi

Tottenham are poised to make two new signings after securing their Premier League status.

GIVEMESPORT understands an agreement in principle is in place to sign Andy Robertson following his departure from Liverpool. The 32-year-old agreed terms in January, but Liverpool couldn’t source a replacement and the Scotland international did not want to leave Anfield unless it also suited the club.

Robertson played his final game for Liverpool on Sunday in a 1-1 draw with Brentford that secured Champions League football for next season.

When Robertson transfer could be confirmed

Spurs are now expected to sign him on a free transfer and the deal could be formalised before Robertson heads off to the World Cup with Scotland.

The signing was always contingent on Spurs staying in the Premier League, with Roberto De Zerbi’s side surviving courtesy of a 1-0 win over Everton on the final day.

Robertson is of appeal not only due to his Premier League experience and leadership, but his character as well. He made 378 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 14 times and was one of the most popular players in the dressing room.

Spurs are also favourites to sign Marcos Senesi on a free transfer. The 29-year-old left Bournemouth on a free transfer despite the Cherries qualifying for the Europa League via a sixth-placed finish.

Senesi had informed Bournemouth he wanted a fresh challenge last year and turned down multiple contract offers as a result.

Terms are in place with Spurs with Senesi making it clear to all European suitors his preference is to remain in the Premier League.

Two other clubs have been chasing Senesi

Manchester United have also considered Senesi, while Liverpool have been weighing up whether to enter the race. As it stands, Spurs are hoping to formalise Senesi quickly in order to avoid any surprises.

Senesi has had another outstanding season for Bournemouth making 37 appearances in all competitions and playing a pivotal role in Bournemouth gaining European football for the first time in their history.

Spurs staying up also boosts their chances of Micky van de Ven signing a new deal. Sources have told GMS he’s been impressed by Roberto De Zerbi.

However, there remains a realistic chance captain Cristian Romero is sold. Spurs are open to an exit on the right times, with the Argentine defender keen on a move to La Liga.

MMA Fight Between Sumo Wrestler and Professional Boxer Has Clear Winner

In what might’ve been one of the strangest fights of the year, sumo wrestler Chiyotairyu Hidemasa demonstrated the precise reason why weight-classes are required in contact sports as he dominated his MMA fight against 5-0 professional boxer Jorge Menasalvas.

The peculiar bout, which pitted the 320lbs sumo wrestler against a 192lbs boxer, was put together by Spanish promotion Dogfight Wild Tournament, for their fourth event, Tokyo Blood, in Madrid, Spain.

According to their website, their events provide “an experience where the fight breaks all traditional formats and each match takes the spectacle to the next level.”

In what was dubbed their “wildest event to date”, the other bouts included a tag-team war, a five-way last-man standing, and the first-ever rap battle that ended in a physical fight.

Chiyotairyu Hidemasa vs Jorge Menasalvas

Former top-division sumo wrestler Chiyotairyu Hidemasa (whose real name is Hidemasa Meigetsuin) traded the dohyo for the cage as he faced off in a one-of-a-kind bout. After graduating from university, Hidemasa questioned whether he should continue his sumo career or quit to become a teacher after his debut tournament in March 2011 was delayed due to a match-fixing scandal that rocked the world of sumo.

Throughout his 11-year career, Chiyotairyu managed his one and only championship in the Juryo rank, the second-highest division in professional sumo. He was also awarded a special prize (Sansho) called the Gino-sho, or technique, for his impressive 11-4 in November 2013. The sumo wrestler has also gained three gold starts, which are awarded after a lower-ranked wrestler beats a yokozuna, the highest rank in sumo wrestling, after twice-beating Harumafuji and also besting Kisenosato.

His MMA opponent came in the form of professional boxer Jorge Menasalvas, who currently boasts an unbeaten 5-0 record in the ring. The Spaniard’s first professional bout came in November 2024 with a unanimous decision victory over Diego Jair Ramirez, before Ramirez was disqualified in their rematch to hand his opponent the second win of his career. A points victory over Marius Mihai Dumitru and a first-round knockout over Leonid Arseniev meant that his unanimous decision victory over Frank Rojas in November 2025 took him to a 5-0 record.

Although Menasalvas may have had much more experience of striking, Chiyotairyu’s grappling experience from his sumo days set him in good stead going into the cage. With both fighters coming in at 6’0″, there was no real reach or height advantage for either, but the almost 130lbs in weight difference would prove to be somewhat of a determining factor.

US Marine vs British SAS Soldier Boxing Fight Ended in Savage Knockout

From the outset of the fight, it was clear that there would only be one winner. Time after time, Menasalvas was met with the terrifying sight of his almost-150kg opponent sprinting across the canvas and slamming him into the fencing, with one such instance almost completely detaching the surrounding barriers. With Menasalvas up against it, the sumo wrestler would use his grappling experience to good effect, slamming his opponent to the floor and administering multiple hammer-fists.

Following five gruelling rounds, neither fighter managed to floor their opponent for good, meaning that the bout went to the scorecards. Unsurprisingly, Chiyotairyu saw his hand raised after winning via unanimous decision.
