Just one month away from the beginning of the regular season, the NFL world has been shaken up by yet another significant injury to one of the league’s most elite players.

Just last year, the league suffered many major blows to their superstars. Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs tore his ACL, Micah Parsons of the Green Bay Packers did the same, and so did Tyreek Hill, who tore his ACL along with other ligaments around his knee.

All of these injuries were season-altering for the franchises in question. However, the list didn’t end there, significant injuries in the NFL have become a given now and one franchise has felt the full force of that as they prepare for the regular season.

The franchise, who also had to deal with countless injuries last season (including a torn ACL for one of their best and an arm injury to their star quarterback), have had their season plans completely shaken up less than a week away from their pre-season opener.

Across social media, fans and analysts have shared their thoughts on yet another significant NFL injury. One analyst said: “A terrible blow.”

Fans of the franchise were quick to express their worst fears beneath the announcement post. One fan doubted they were being truthful and said: “They won’t say he’s out for the year because they don’t want to upset us, but that’s what this means.”

Washington Commanders Suffer Cruel Injury Blow

The Washington Commanders had a breakout year during the rookie season of quarterback Jayden Daniels. The franchise reached the NFC Championship game, making Daniels just the sixth rookie quarterback to start a Conference Championship game in NFL history.

They went on to lose the game to the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, which was the start of an early and unexpected downfall for the franchise.

A downfall which hasn’t been caused by incorrect decisions from coaches or people in charge, instead, it has been intensified by injuries that are out of their hands, with that streak of bad luck continuing with a significant injury ahead of the 2026/27 NFL season.

Laremy Tunsil is a five-time Pro Bowler and one of the Washington Commanders’ most reliable offensive linemen. The 32-year-old has suffered a torn tricep in training, and will undergo surgery ahead of the new season. His injury is expected to keep him out for a significant portion of the NFL season.

Earlier this year, the Commanders made Tunsil the highest-paid left-tackle ever after he put pen-to-paper on his new two-year, $60.2 million dollar extension. Now, they are likely to be without him for a vast majority of the upcoming NFL season, a season where many expected them to get back on track in the Jayden Daniels era.

The injury has given the NFL world an early shock ahead of the new season, with many suggesting it is a season-altering injury for the Washington Commanders.

Reaction to Laremy Tunsil’s Injury

“You can’t make a player the highest-paid left-tackle ever and then a few months later realise you’re going to be without him for potentially the entire season and not feel a major blow. This is perhaps the most indispensable player on the roster, not named Jayden Daniels himself,” one analyst said in reaction to the breaking news.

The Commanders’ head coach, Dan Quinn, confirmed the left-tackle will undergo surgery on his torn tricep, and also confirmed there will be a better timeline on his return once the surgery is completed successfully.

The Tunsil injury is yet another that has shaken up not only an NFL roster, but also the entire league, with the five-time Pro Bowler and one of the league’s best offensive linemen set to sit on the sidelines as the Washington Commanders attempt to return to the post-season.

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign talented young full-back Jorge Salinas as they look to snap up a new left-back this summer. Michael Carrick has already landed two new midfielders in the form of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, and it’s likely he will try to sign a third to replace Casemiro.

But Carrick also wants a new left-back to add better competition and back-up for Luke Shaw, who is now 31, while he has struggled to consistently stay fit throughout his career. Patrick Dorgu can cover there, and youngster Sergio León is a youngster, as are other young players like Harry Amass, but Carrick needs a more senior option, even if it ends up being a young player who is a little further along in their development.

That means the Red Devils are looking elsewhere, and transfer guru Fabrizio Romano says a talented LaLiga star has been offered to them. He said on his YouTube show: “Man United are still in the market. Man Utd are focusing their efforts on left-back/left wing-back position. Lewis Hall, at the moment, looks impossible because Newcastle United don’t want to sell. Man Utd are considering all options, even young players as investments. Still important players, but young players who can be part of the squad. Then, some names are being offered to Manchester United.

“For example, Jorge Salinas, who was also being linked to Spanish clubs like Atletico Madrid, also with Barcelona, and he is one of the players to be offered to Manchester United, and he is not the only one. So, Man Utd are watching for opportunities.”

Salinas is only 19 years of age, but he played an important part in Racing Santander winning promotion to LaLiga by winning the league title last season.

Salinas is already showing talent well beyond his years at senior level, while he dazzled among his peers to help Spain win the Under-19s European Championships this summer. Amid his hugely impressive season at Racing last term, Chema Aragón, Racing’s sporting director, predicted: “I think he will end up playing in the Champions League.”

United already have a wealth of young left-backs, but the question will be whether they feel Salinas is ahead of those players, and what sort of impact he can have immediately. While Carrick may be up for signing a young player, he will want that young player to provide adequate cover and competition for Shaw.

Last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw has once again got fans talking, this time relating to WWE Superstar Maxxine Dupri’s kayfabe relationship with fellow member of The Vision Austin Theory.

However, away from the kayfabe and storytelling of her job, Maxxine Dupri is married to another Superstar in the WWE’s ranks, Kam Hendrix.

Hendrix has been involved in social media clashes with Mason Rook (formerly known as Will Kroos), in which Rook has joked about Maxxine Dupri’s actions on Monday Night Raw, suggesting that Hendrix is unable to watch her at work.

After the conclusion of last night’s Monday Night Raw, fans have taken to social media to share their opinions on the ongoing ‘kayfabe’ relationship, with some extending their thoughts to her real-life husband.

WWE Fans Show Concern For Maxxine Dupri’s Husband

“Maxxine Dupri doesn’t care anymore… even if her husband is watching at home,” one fan said in response to a clip of Dupri having her arms around Theory during the entirety of his entrance to the ring.

The fan went on to add: “Her JOB is on the line. If this Austin Theory angle doesn’t work, those WWE budget cuts might be coming. Is Maxxine Dupri going all in to save her job?”

WWE & Romance Has Heavy History

The WWE has had its fair share of romance mixed in with its storylines, some dating back decades, but some fans now believe the relationship between Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri is re-telling a story that we have seen countless times before.

Another fan shared their thoughts after Dupri was seen kissing Theory at ringside during his match against Akira Tozawa. They said: “I have a feeling Maxxine Dupri is about to do what these wrestlers did with their partners. In one of the kayfabe storylines, Triple H was due to drug and marry Stephanie McMahon before she joined him to create a faction. What followed in real life was the couple getting married and having a family.

However, at the very beginning of the storyline, it was alleged that Triple H was still with his ex-girlfriend Chyna while he was taking the kayfabe relationship with Stephanie McMahon away from work, leaving Chyna heartbroken and fans confused.

Fast-forward over 25 years later and many WWE fans are seeing the same similarities between Austin Theory and Maxxine Dupri, sharing their fears for her real-life husband as she commits to her job with all of her effort.
