Tottenham Reach Verbal Agreement With Man City to Sign Savinho
Tottenham Hotspur chiefs have reached a verbal agreement with a club to finalise their seventh summer signing.
Tottenham and ENIC have gone into overdrive with the summer transfer business as they look to avoid being involved in a Premier League relegation battle for a third successive season.
That is already looking like an unlikely possibility with Roberto De Zerbi at the helm for a full season and with the quality of signings they have already made this summer, with Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Jan Paul van Hecke, Martin Dubravka, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali all joining – the latter two in club-record transfers.
With the defence and midfield transformed from last season, attention now turns to getting players out the door and strengthening De Zerbi’s attack as Spurs look to return to the top six next term.
Luka Vuskovic has already left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a big-money deal to Brighton and Hove Albion, and he is unlikely to be the last with the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Lucas Bergvall and Richarlison among those heavily linked with an exit away from the club.
Tottenham could also be closing in on their next summer addition of a window they appear to be winning right now.
Tottenham Reach Verbal Agreement With Man City to Sign Savinho
Tottenham’s next transfer priority has been to land a new left-winger, with Manchester City star Savinho emerging as their number one target for the position.
Spurs wanted to sign the Brazil international 12 months ago but were unable to find an agreement with City over a deal, but now it appears as though they have reached a breakthrough.
According to a reliable Tottenham source on X, the north Londoners have now reached a verbal agreement with City to sign the 22-year-old.
A separate report has claimed that a deal could be finalised for £65m, as Spurs look to get another big summer deal over the line.
Tottenham Still Targeting Eli Junior Kroupi
There may have been some concerns that once Tottenham decided that Savinho was their top left-wing target, that it reduced their chances of moving for Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi too.
However, it is claimed that even if Spurs do secure a deal for Savinho, they will still target a move for the highly-rated French attacker too following an outstanding breakthrough campaign in the Premier League.

Man Utd’s Perfect Summer Transfer Window With Three More Signings
For Manchester United, this summer’s transfer window represents a chance to capitalise on their best season for years.
After breaking back into the Champions League, Michael Carrick will want to consolidate last year’s work and building the best squad possible will go a long way in doing that.
Some deals are already over the line, but there are still positions and players to target as they balance out a squad that is needing reinforcement to cope with a return to Europe and new goals.
With that in mind, we’ve decided to chart out what the perfect summer transfer window could look like for the Red Devils. Take it with a grain of salt, of course, but everyone included has at least some reputable links rooting in some kind of reality.
Perfect signings to complete Man Utd’s squad
Let’s review the business thus far. Arriving to bolster their midfield is the 29-year-old Youri Tielemans, who arrives ready to make an instant impact after winning the Europa League at Aston Villa.Bringing versatility and youth is Chelsea’s Andrey Santos, who has proven he can play in any one of the midfield roles from his time in London and in Ligue 1 with Strasbourg. Whilst Karl Darlow was added for keeper depth, but who else are they targeting?Despite two midfield additions, fans still believe they require a more destructive, defensive force in midfield. Elliot Anderson and Mateus Fernandes were targeted, but both opted for moves elsewhere and other names such as Alex Scott, Felix Nmecha, Carlos Baleba and Sander Berge have all been considered. However, there are two names that stand out above the rest. Roma’s Manu Kone and Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga are both young and experienced options to bolster their midfield and both would cost far less than the other names mentioned. Both are likely to exit and United should not miss out; our pick would be Camavinga and United have already tried to ignite a move.In defence, a left-back has been touted. Luke Shaw played every single league game last season, but the increased workload will surely trigger injury concerns. Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall has been linked and with multiple key figures exiting already this summer, the ex-Chelsea defender could well be targeted. His energy, work rate and attacking qualities are reminiscent of a younger Shaw, and it would make for a perfect replacement, albeit costly.Plus, a left-sided attacker is likely required if Rashford is to exit. One name linked is West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville and United have had exploratory talks with the Dutch forward. United have thrown their hat in the ring for RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, but they face stiff and costly competition. If they want to make a big splash, Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola has been linked with a £128million-plus deal away to eye regular football. It would be an exciting statement deal given his experience, achievements and how he looks ready to take that next step in his development.

The transfer exits Man Utd need to sanction
As it stands, United have already recouped some cash and more could be on the way. Napoli decided to makeRasmus Hojlund’s loan move permanent and agreed a £43million deal. Whilst it is a loss on their original investment, it was the best move for both parties.
Plus, the trio ofCasemiro,Jadon Sancho andTyrell Malacia all running down their contracts have freed up some wage space. There’s also the sell-on clause money that is likely to come fromMason Greenwood’s move to Fenerbache from Marseille, which could equate to somewhere around £10million to £15million profit. In addition,Altay Bayindiris set to depart too.
The big question is where doesMarcus Rashford go? Now 28, his deal doesn’t expire for another two years and Barcelona were offered a deal to sign him for around £35million but decided to complete a deal twice as expensive for Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon.
Rashford’s last game for United was in December 2024 and while the club are keen to offload his sizable wages, there is a lack of suitors which has resulted in back-to-back loan spells at Aston Villa and Barcelona. He will begin pre-season at United, but the ideal solution is a sale to free up more funds.
Ideally, another exit forJoshua Zirkzee. A back-up at best under Carrick, nine goals in 75 games is a poor return and, at 25 with three years left on his deal, a sale makes sense. But recouping the £36.5million fee paid could be difficult.
AfterEderson’s failed move from Atalanta,Mason Mount is reportedly getting another chance that could help save his United career, especially withManuel Ugarte now out for a lengthy spell. However, the Uruguayan may have been set for an exit if he didn’t suffer a knee injury at the World Cup.

Pele Claimed Stanley Matthews “Taught us the Way Football Should Be Played”
The beautiful game is more than just a familiar phrase; Pele embodied that philosophy throughout his career with a blend of flair, pace and creativity. The Brazilian icon captivated supporters during his peak in the late 1950s and early 1960s with a style that has stood the test of time, making him one of the all-time greats.
Older football fans will have no shortage of memories about the legendary Santos FC star and the joy he brought to the sport. Pele remains the only footballer to lift three World Cups, triumphing in 1958, 1962 and 1970, while his remarkable goalscoring record and extraordinary talent elevated him to worldwide superstardom.
England experienced first-hand just how devastating Pele could be. He featured in the Brazil team that dismantled Sir Alf Ramsey’s Three Lions 5-1 two years before England won the World Cup. After making his international debut in 1957, Pele transformed the Selecao, although he never had the opportunity to face one of England’s greatest players, whom he greatly admired.
Pele Hailed The Importance of England Icon
England is widely recognised as the birthplace of association football, making its influence on the sport impossible to ignore. In the modern game, tactical flexibility is expected, with managers implementing detailed systems and players often excelling in a variety of roles.
Football underwent significant development during the 1930s. The inaugural FIFA World Cup was held in 1930, helping the game grow in popularity across the globe. Tactical innovation continued to reshape several positions, including the winger, where Sir Stanley Matthews became a true pioneer after convincing his father to support his ambitions of becoming a professional footballer instead of a boxer.
Matthews’ famous feint became one of his defining trademarks, earning him the nickname ‘Wizard of the Dribble’. His elegant ball-carrying ability regularly left defenders struggling to cope, and his influence on football remains immense.
That Pele said Sir Stanley Matthews “taught us the way football should be played” speaks volumes for the impact the former England international had on the game and, more specifically, the role of the winger (via UEFA.com).
Matthews initially appeared destined to play at centre-half before switching to an outside-right role during his school years. The move proved inspired, with his dazzling footwork and balance allowing him to glide past opponents and cement his place among football’s greatest-ever players.
Matthews’ Journey to Becoming the ‘Best Player in the World’
Matthews began his professional journey with hometown club Stoke City, where his exceptional potential was obvious from an early stage. His desire to compete for major honours led him to Blackpool in 1947, having already become familiar with the area while serving in the Royal Air Force. Six years later, he inspired the Seasiders to FA Cup glory while continuing to shine for England.
Sir Bobby Charlton also praised the English icon, saying: “I couldn’t believe he was just a man. He was the best player in the world,” While Gianfranco Zola said: “He told me that he used to play for just twenty pounds a week. Today he would be worth all the money in the Bank of England.”
Matthews made his England debut in 1934 and collected 54 international caps, featuring at both the 1950 and 1954 World Cups. His brilliance was formally recognised in 1956 when he became the first-ever winner of the Ballon d’Or.
Following his retirement in 1965, Matthews spent a short spell as Port Vale’s general manager before taking his football knowledge overseas, including to South Africa. There, he helped create a Soweto side known as ‘Stan’s Men’ and even led the team on a tour of Brazil. His efforts to open doors for black footballers formed an important part of his legacy before he passed away in 2000 at the age of 85 after a brief illness.

De Zerbi Personally Pushing Tottenham to Sign Savinho
Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on their seventh summer signing of the transfer window after Roberto De Zerbi gave his green light to the deal, according to reports.
Spurs have already brought in Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, Martin Dubravka, Jan Paul van Hecke, Mateus Fernandes, and Sandro Tonali this summer, as they look to rebuild their squad following their second consecutive 17th-placed finish in the Premier League.
All attention has now turned towards bringing in forward additions to help add more goals, and De Zerbi has made his decision on which player the club should be going all out for to do just that.
De Zerbi Green Lights Savinho Deal
According to TEAMtalk, Spurs are closing in on an agreement with Man City to sign forward Savinho.
The Brazilian, who has been described as ‘outrageous’, has found regular first-team football hard to come by at the Etihad Stadium and is now set to depart, less than 12 months after signing a new long-term contract at the club.
City are open to his exit after just one goal last season, and Spurs are ready to revisit their interest from last summer, where they had a £60m bid rejected. Now, they are closing in on an agreement for a similar price, with the winger already committing to joining them should a deal be struck.
De Zerbi had been given a host of forward options to choose from, with Tottenham ready to advance on a deal for any of them. And the Italian has now made his decision and picked the 22-year-old ahead of the likes of AC Milan star Rafael Leao as the next piece of his jigsaw.
De Zerbi has been heavily involved in the decision to prioritise a move for Savinho, with his age, profile, availability, and price all factors that have been considered.

Savinho Move Now Inevitable
Savinho’s Man City career started brightly, but he quickly found himself battling with some established international stars for game time, and it hasn’t worked out for him.
Tottenham are able to offer him a much clearer pathway to regular first-team football, and in De Zerbi they have a manager who strongly believes he can be the difference maker in their squad, rather than just another option.
All parties are working hard towards getting a deal over the line now, and it seems a matter of when, not if, this deal will be completed, in a major boost to the north London side.
