Man Utd in Advanced Talks to Let Joshua Zirkzee Leave

Published

on

Manchester United are in advanced talks with Juventus over a deal that would see Joshua Zirkzee leave, according to The Sun.

The Red Devils have had a strong summer window so far, bringing in Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow, and Tynan Thompson to strengthen their squad, and while they are still keen to make more additions, they are also looking at ways to trim the fat.

One star who has emerged as a possible option to leave is Zirkzee, who has struggled for regular first-team football since joining the club, and a deal is now edging towards completion.

Zirkzee, who has been described as ‘elite’, started just five Premier League games during the 2025/26 season, and has scored just nine times in 75 appearances for the club since his £36.5m move from Bologna two summers ago.

The Netherlands international missed out on a place in the World Cup squad and wants to get back to playing regularly, with a number of Italian sides showing an interest in taking him back to Serie A.

Juventus have now emerged as the frontrunner for his signature after they ended their pursuit of PSG star Randal Kolo Muani following drawn-out talks with the European champions, and talks are understood to be advanced over an initial season-long loan deal which would include a £30m option to buy.

Zirkzee’s representatives have responded positively to the approach from Juventus, and the 25-year-old would be open to making the switch to the Allianz Stadium.

The striker feels that the Italian league suits his style of play better and would be the right step for his career at this stage. Zirkzee currently finds himself behind Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Marcus Rashford in the pecking order of the attack, and an exit is expected.

Zirkzee Has No Man Utd Future

Zirkzee is a forward who has got plenty of talent, and his goal in the pre-season friendly win over Rosenborg shows exactly why the club bought him two years ago.

But the Premier League is a physically demanding and intense league, and Zirkzee’s style is more about style and technique than that. He hasn’t fitted in well, and the way Michael Carrick wants his team to play means he’s never going to be a super important player, or one that starts regularly.

A move away makes sense for all parties, but Man Utd are already thin on numbers in attack, and they must make sure that they replace him adequately before the transfer deadline.

Adam Ramsay-Peaty Slammed Over Commonwealth Games ‘Excuses’

The feud between decorated swimmer Adam Ramsay-Peaty and his family worsened following his interviews at the Commonwealth Games yesterday.

The 31-year-old competed in the 100m breaststroke on Saturday night at the Tollcross International Centre in Glasgow, but had to settle for bronze as he finished behind Sam Williamson and 18-year-old Jersey native Filip Nowacki.

But it was the ensuing interview that really caught the attention of viewers and Ramsay-Peaty’s estranged family. Clearly disappointed by the result, the Olympian conceded that the falling out with his family “has taken its toll.”

The three-time Olympic gold medallist appeared to be referencing his parents, Caroline and Mark, in the post-competition interview. Ramsay-Peaty blamed the stress of the feud on his tired performance, resulting in a bronze rather than an expected gold.

The British swimmer was supported by his pregnant wife Holly at the event, with their relationship reportedly being the source of the fallout with his family. This was the first time that Ramsay-Peaty’s parents had not been in attendance for a major event he was participating in.

The origins of the conflict go back to 2024, when Ramsay-Peaty and his then-future wife refused to invite wider members of the Peaty family to their engagement party and wedding. The swimmer’s mother was also left off the list for Holly’s hen do. Posting on Instagram two months later, Ramsay-Peaty responded to discussion surrounding the feud, stating that there are “two sides to every story.”

Following the controversial interview, an anonymous source representing the Peaty family spoke to the Daily Mail, hitting back at the swimmer’s comments.

“Just take accountability for your own actions for once, Adam, instead of blaming us.

“The hurt you feel over a medal does not compare to the hurt your mother felt when she said she did not want to be on this planet anymore…

“The hurt you inflicted on her when you stopped her from seeing her grandson [from a previous relationship] out of spite, who she loves with every fibre of her being, and stopped from watching you marry.

“You made comments to friends that we would try and disrupt your games. We haven’t been there. To blame us for your failure is not right, Adam.”

Don’t blame your family for your bronze. You need to look closer to home and in the mirror.

“You are having a crisis of conscience. Shame on you all. Blame yourself for isolating yourself from the support network that has been there since you were born.

“We love you, Adam, that’s all we have done, and are proud of what you have achieved, but we don’t like who you have become. You became famous. You met Holly and you changed.”

Ramsay-Peaty’s remarks during the interview blaming his parents for his bronze medal have attracted criticism online. The 31-year-old secured another bronze in the 50m breaststroke, but again would’ve been hoping for a redemptive gold. The triple world record holder’s next chance at major gold will come at the European Aquatics Championships in August, where he has secured 16 golds in the past.

Ronaldo Nazario Names the Best Striker in Football Right Now

Published

When it comes to identifying the best striker on the planet, there are few more qualified people around than two-time Ballon d’Or and World Cup winner, Ronaldo Nazario.

The Brazilian icon is regarded as one of the finest number nines to ever grace the beautiful game, scoring 330 goals for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSV and the two Milan clubs.

He was present at the 2026 World Cup, where he watched some of the present generation’s brightest stars put on clinics on football’s biggest stage. Lionel Messi, Rodri, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland and many more big-name stars were at their very best.

Ronaldo Nazario Snubs Harry Kane as World’s Best Striker

But it’s only right that R9, also known as The Phenomenon, was asked to give his thoughts on the best players in his position. Ahead of England’s Harry Kane and Erling Haaland of Norway going head-to-head in the quarter-finals of this year’s tournament, Ronaldo was asked to end the debate.

Both Kane and Haaland make strong cases to be named the best striker in world football right now after scoring 73 and 58 goals respectively for club and country in the past season. However, Ronaldo didn’t name either when giving his best striker.

Instead, he opted for the World Cup’s all-time leading goalscorer, Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman was desperate to fire Les Bleus to the trophy once again, netting 10 goals along the way to claim the Golden Boot.

While he fell short of that aim and had to settle for fourth place, the 27-year-old was still one of the best performers in the competition, and still has a chance of winning the Ballon d’Or.

Asked about the best No.9 in the world, Ronaldo said: “I think Mbappe is doing amazing and he’s still very young. He’s playing with the number 10, but he’s a number nine.”

Mbappe ended the season trophyless for club and country, but still managed to score 42 goals in just 44 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid.

While he picked out Mbappe as the best of the bunch, Ronaldo made sure to sing the praises of both Haaland and Kane too.

Discussing all three world-class forwards, he said: “I’m so happy to see players like them doing well with my characteristics of when I played. I’m just happy for them. Years ago, we were talking about how we miss number nines. No, we have three like this, it’s good for everyone.”

More specifically focusing on Kane vs Haaland, who were set to play in the game he was attending at the time, the Brazil icon added: “I’m so happy to see Harry Kane and Haaland. Number nines, original nines. I’m so happy to see them doing well.”

Man Utd Plot ‘Surprise’ Bid to Sign Bournemouth Star Tyler Adams

Published

Manchester United are considering making a ‘surprise’ bid to sign one star as their third midfielder of the summer.

The Red Devils completed deals to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa as they plan a major rebuild of the position during the transfer window, while goalkeeper Karl Darlow and young winger Tynan Thompson have also arrived.

But the club have not given up hope of making further additions to the squad before the window closes, as Michael Carrick looks to replace Casemiro and an injured Manuel Ugarte, which has led them to take a look at a number of targets.

Man Utd Consider Tyler Adams Bid

Tyler Adams

According to talkSPORT, Man Utd are now considering a bid to sign Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams.

Adams, who has been described as ‘incredible’, has been a long-term target at Old Trafford in recent transfer windows, with the club big fans of his defensive capabilities, and his stats standing out in their new data-led approach.

United have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni and Adams’ teammate Alex Scott, but both deals are currently proving too expensive, and the American is seen as a cheaper alternative to fill the role.

Reports had suggested that the 27-year-old could be allowed to leave the Vitality Stadium for around £35m, however, that has been dismissed by Bournemouth sources.

But Adams is still considered to be a genuine target at Old Trafford for the third midfielder role, and it’s understood that the club are considering making their interest more concrete with a formal offer.

Manu Kone, Eduardo Camavinga, and Fulham star Sander Berge also feature on the club’s shortlist of options, while Man Utd are also keeping an eye out for market opportunities to improve at left-back and also in attack, amid question marks over the futures of Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.

Adams Would Be Underwhelming Arrival

Man Utd need a defensive midfielder to come into the squad and provide cover and competition for Santos, while Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo look likely to be going into the campaign as the first-choice pairing behind Bruno Fernandes.

But while Adams fits the criteria of being a ball-winning midfielder who can cover ground well, it would be a hugely underwhelming signing, and wouldn’t polish off the rebuild too well.

He has his benefits, but considering the other options already available in the squad, and the players being linked with a move to Old Trafford at this stage, it’s hard to see how he would be the player the club would settle on as their final piece of the midfield jigsaw.
