Donald Trump Names the 3 NFL Teams He’s Supporting This Season

Donald Trump has dropped his three NFL picks for the 2027 Super Bowl ahead of the new season and showed love for a star quarterback.

The new NFL season is fast approaching, with the Seattle Seahawks aiming to defend their Super Bowl title following last season’s triumph over the New England Patriots.

The Seahawks beat the Patriots 29-13 in Santa Clara, California.

Despite the Seahawks adding a second Super Bowl title to their trophy cabinet, US president Trump doesn’t think Mike Macdonald’s team will be in the mix in the upcoming season.

Trump was in attendance at the 2026 Patriot Games Finale in Geneva, Ohio, as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration.

During the event, he conducted an interview with ESPN where he was asked about the 2027 NFL season.

Laura Rutledge asked Trump which NFL teams he is keeping his eyes on.

“Well, maybe I’ll pick a few. I think New England looks good. I think the Giants – I like their quarterback a lot. They say the LA Rams are looking very strong. But I’d better not get into this too much. I’m going to get myself into trouble if I do.”

He added: “I think you have a lot of good teams – a lot of great teams. We’ll see how it turns out. I’ll be watching.”

Donald Trump Singles Out Jaxson Dart

Trump is a big fan of Giants quarterback Dart, who introduced the 80-year-old at a rally in May at Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York.

And the US president was full of praise for the 23-year-old during his speech.

“I’m looking at Jaxson, I’d like to know, is there any woman in the audience that thinks they can tackle that guy? Because I’d like to meet you. I’d like to shake your hand,” he said.

“I don’t know, Jaxson, you think you could play against women? Okay, do you think you’d have any problem? I don’t think so.

“Don’t get involved, Jaxson. Don’t answer that question. No, I’m looking at the legs. He’s this beautiful guy. He’s got legs like tree trunks. This is not a good thing for women. This would not be. No, it’s no good.”

On introducing Trump, Dart, who accepted the invitation out of respect for the office of the presidency and his family’s military service, said: “This was a unique opportunity being asked and given the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States. My thinking was pretty simple in the fact of I’ve always loved this country. I have extended family members who have fought in wars.”

Djed Spence Agrees Contract as Inter Table Bid for Tottenham Star

Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence has agreed personal terms with Inter Milan after the Serie A side made a formal bid, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Spurs have had a very busy summer transfer window, including the arrivals of defenders Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Jan Paul van Hecke, while first-choice right-back Pedro Porro has also signed a new long-term contract with the club.

Spence is understood to be available for a transfer despite a sensational World Cup campaign with England, with Destiny Udogie, Robertson, and Porro all ahead of him in the pecking order, and Inter have now made a move to take him back to Italy.

According to Fabrizio Romano on X, Inter Milan have tabled a formal €30m (£25.6m) offer for the 25-year-old full-back, as they look to bring in a new option for manager Christian Chivu.

Spurs are understood to be demanding at least €35m (£30m) plus add-ons for the former Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough star, and talks are ongoing between the clubs to find an agreement. But in a fresh update, it has also been revealed that Spence has agreed to contract terms with Inter, and a deal now looks closer than ever before to being completed.

Spence has attracted the interest of a number of clubs this summer, with Man Utd and Liverpool reportedly keen. However, Romano told the Market Madness podcast that Liverpool’s interest had been exaggerated and nothing was advanced.

Now Spence, who previously had a loan spell at Genoa, looks set to return to Serie A, with the clubs closing in on an agreement.

‘Frightening’ Spence a Surprising Spurs Exit

England's Djed Spence

Spence was one of the shining lights for Tottenham last season as they narrowly avoided relegation, and he was praised by Ian Wright and Gary Neville as being the standout defender for England during the World Cup this summer too.

His pace is one of his biggest attributes, and it has seen former Arsenal legend David Seaman describe him as ‘frightening’.

“When I first saw him, when he first came in… he was a bit like when Kolo Toure came to Arsenal,” he said.

“He was like the schoolboy in the playground, just followed the ball everywhere, and Djed was getting like caught out of position quite a bit, but now he’s like (much better).

“The more he’s playing in that position (left-back) he’s getting used to it, and his pace is frightening – he had a one-v-one with somebody and like totally outpaced them, easy.”

With limited games this season, it makes sense that he may play less and find himself on the sidelines. But it’s quite surprising to see that De Zerbi is willing to let him go, and Spurs are willing to let him go so cheaply since he has a contract until 2029.

It will be a blow for Spurs to lose a player of that quality, but a deal now seems to be on the verge of being done.

Michael Owen Predicts Final 26/27 Premier League Top 6

Published

Michael Owen has predicted the final 2026/27 Premier League top six with the new season on the horizon.

The new campaign kicks off on Friday, August 21, when reigning champions Arsenal welcome newly-promoted Coventry City to the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners will be looking to retain their Premier League title once more, but Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea, all of which have new managers, will have title aspirations of their own.

Michael Carrick will be hoping to lead Manchester United to their first league title since 2013, while the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur will be dreaming of a top four finish.

Owen was recently asked by the Metro to predict his final top six in order, and, as things stand, he doesn’t have high hopes for former side Man United.

Arsenal have been active in the transfer market, signing the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis to their already stacked squad. Owen has joined Peter Crouch in predicting Mikel Arteta’s side will retain their crown, but thinks there will be multiple challengers.

He said: “I think there can be a few title challengers this season.

“You look at Arsenal’s points tally and it wasn’t in the nineties so they only have to drop a little and with Chelsea not in Europe, they can mount a challenge. New managers at Liverpool and City could hit a good run of form early on and be in with a shout as well. Tottenham have signed well too.

“So Arsenal are favourites for sure, but it’s not a foregone conclusion that they win it comfortably.”

United will think they have a real chance of winning the Premier League after finishing the 2025/26 campaign on fire. After being appointed in January 2026, Carrick won 12 of his 17 matches in charge to guide the Red Devils to a third-place finish.

However, Owen thinks they won’t be as good this season. He said:

“I don’t think the squad is there right now. They need to add a few more players to cope with the increased demands of all competitions, especially the Champions League.

“I would think Man Utd are looking to strengthen more and I would be surprised if they didn’t. So I am hoping they can add more quality, more depth to the squad as it’s a long season and so many games, especially in forward areas, with just [Benjamin] Sesko as the main striker.”

When asked to predict his top six in order, he replied:

“At this stage I would go Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd & then Spurs.”

Owen thinks Liverpool, Chelsea and City will all mount title challengers after appointing new managers this summer, but ultimately they will fall short.

He thinks United will slip to fifth, with Spurs just missing out on Champions League qualification. He doesn’t think Unai Emery’s Villa will crack the top six, while he also doesn’t fancy Bournemouth’s chances of replicating their sixth-place finish from 25/26.

Jose Mourinho Told Frank Lampard He Was Best Player in World

Jose Mourinho once told a British footballer he was the “best player in the world”.

Mourinho is the subject of a fascinating new three-part Netflix docu-series about his illustrious managerial career. Unlike other managerial greats, Mourinho didn’t have the advantage of a top playing career behind him.

But that didn’t prevent him from becoming a legendary figure in the sport. He won the Champions League with FC Porto in 2004 and then led Chelsea to back-to-back Premier League titles.

Mourinho then moved to Inter Milan, where he won two Serie A titles and the Champions League, before moving to Real Madrid in 2010.

The Mourinho-Pep Guardiola rivalry followed, featuring a series of epic battles between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Mourinho eventually returned to Chelsea in 2013, winning another Premier League title, before ending up at Manchester United in 2016 – three years after he was set to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford but moved back to west London instead.

The 63-year-old has since coached Tottenham, AS Roma, Fenerbahce and Benfica before getting the call from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to return to the Bernabeu this summer after the Spanish giants endured a rare trophyless season.

Over the course of his 26-year managerial career, Mourinho has coached many extraordinary players including Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Wayne Rooney, Harry Kane and so on.

But it was at Chelsea where he told one of his players: “You are the best player in the world”.

Speaking on MOURINHO, Frank Lampard said: “A few days before the start of the season, we go into the shower, and I end up on my own in the shower.

“Jose walks in. He turned to me and said: ‘You are the best player in the world’.

“I didn’t agree with it but I was like, ‘Well, thanks, boss.’

“And then he said, ‘You are the best player in the world but you can’t be yet because you haven’t got titles. And until you win titles, that won’t be the case’.

“I don’t ever think he thought I was the best player in the world because I wasn’t, but what he did was boosted me up. I was like, ‘wow, best player in the world. Jose Mourinho thinks so’.

“The second time he gave me a challenge: ‘you better win some titles, otherwise you’re not going to be’.

“It had one of the biggest effects on my life, and that’s a conversation in the shower. That shows you the power of good man management, I guess.” Watch the clip below:

Lampard went on to finish second in the voting for the 2005 Ballon d’Or award behind Barcelona legend Ronaldinho. He was also the runner-up behind the Brazilian in the voting for the 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year.

While Ronaldinho may have had the edge on Lampard at the time, there probably isn’t another footballer Mourinho would have swapped the England international for.
