Ogun ADC members petition NWC, accuse state chairman of financial misconduct, abuse of office
Concerned leaders and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Ogun State chapter, have called for an investigation into alleged financial misconduct, abuse of office, and unethical conduct involving the party’s chairman, Femi Soluade.
The party leaders in a petition dated 20th June 2026, addressed to the National Chairman accused Soluade of assaulting his deputy, misappropriation and mismanagement of party funds.
The petitioners, Hudu Idris, Ismaila Adejumon, Temitope Adebayo, and Rashidat Yekin noted that the petition is borne out of commitment to the principles of accountability, transparency, justice, discipline, and respect.
Recall that Soluade was appointed as acting chairman in December 2025, after the voluntary resignation of former acting chairman Itunu Abioro.
The copy of the petition made available to DAILY POST on Monday reads, “We, the undersigned leaders and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ogun State Chapter, respectfully write to bring to the attention of the National Leadership a number of serious allegations and concerns regarding the conduct of Otunba Femi Patrick Soluade, who was appointed as Acting Chairman of the party in Ogun State in December 2025 after the voluntary resignation of former acting chairman Itunu Abioro.
“This petition is borne out of our commitment to the principles of accountability, transparency, justice, discipline, and respect for the constitution of our great party.
“We believe that the issues raised herein have become matters of grave concern capable of affecting the unity, credibility, and electoral prospects of the party if not urgently addressed.
“We respectfully request an immediate investigation into allegations surrounding the management and utilization of funds belonging to the Ogun State Chapter of the party.
“There are concerns among party leaders and stakeholders regarding the administration of funds lodged in the above account and whether such funds have been managed in accordance with established party procedures and financial regulations.
“We therefore request a comprehensive audit of all inflows and expenditures associated with the account since the assumption of office by Otunba Femi Patrick Soluade.
“We are further informed that other authorized signatories to the party account have been removed without due consultation, approval, or authorization from the appropriate organs of the party. Should this allegation be confirmed, such action would amount to a serious breach of internal financial controls and undermine the collective accountability required in the management of party resources.
“We respectfully urge the National Leadership to obtain all relevant account mandate documents, signatory change requests, and bank records from Sterling Bank to ascertain the true position of matters. Several party members have expressed concerns regarding what they describe as a pattern of abuse of office, intimidation, and high-handedness in the administration of party affairs in Ogun State.”
They alleged that the concerns have created divisions within the party and weakened confidence in the state.
The party leaders urged the National Chairman and the National Working Committee to constitute an independent investigative panel to examine all allegations contained in the petition, conduct a forensic audit of the Ogun State ADC account domiciled with Sterling Bank, investigate abuse of of office, intimidation, and unethical conduct among others.
When contacted, the Ogun State ADC Chairman, Femi Soluade denied the accusation, describing it as false and misleading.
Soluade stated that the alleged assault on his deputy is non-existent, adding that they are in good terms.
“What they are referring to was just a misunderstanding as at that time and it was resolved. I have been funding the party by myself and I’m using the goodwill that I have to fund rhe party as well. People who contributed to the party were just few leaders that are my friends that I even brought to the party.
“The inflow and outflow expenditure and all of that has record. At the appropriate time I will avail National if they are interested in it and I’m going to go in and come out clean. I have my integrity and it cannot be dragged in the mud and for me, I will not go to the mud with the pig,” he stated.

Obi vs Tinubu: APC called for parallel govt in 2015 – Arise TV’s Rufai knocks Onanuga
Media personality and Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni has slammed Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu’s media aide, over recent attack on the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, Peter Obi.
DAILY POST reports that Obi, on Monday called for President Tinubu to emulate the U.K. Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, by tendering his resignation, citing the administration’s inability to tackle the nation’s economic and security crisis.
Responding to Obi’s call, Onanuga, in a statement, described Obi’s position as puerile, stating that the former governor of Anambra State is being childish.
Reacting to the backlash during a morning program on Tuesday, Rufai Oseni recalled how the All Progressives Congress, APC, called for a parallel government prior to 2015 when the party took over the government.
According to Rufai, the same maladministration that prompted APC’s call in 2014 is currently being witnessed in the Tinubu-led government.
He said, “Was the APC also childish when it called for the resignation of Goodluck Jonathan? What they said Jonathan should resign for has happened under them too.
“This was the same APC that called for a parallel government if they didn’t win the 2015 election. Do you know what parallel government is? That’s anarchy.
“They didn’t only say it, they went to defend it on television. So Obi called for resignation and they said it is puerile”.

2027: Again, PRP clears air on selling nomination forms to Kwankwaso
The National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, has clarified that the party did not sell any nomination forms to the Vice-Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Rabi’u Kwankwaso.
Baba-Ahmed made this clarification on Tuesday when he appeared as a guest in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’.
He was reacting to the allegation that Kwankwaso bought 69 nomination forms to take control of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The National Chairman echoed PRP secretary, Alhaji Musa Maigari, who described the allegation as false, insisting that Kwankwaso neither purchased nomination forms nor has any official connection with the party.
According to him: “This is complete fiction, and I am grateful for the opportunity to clarify this. The real state chairman of the PRP in Kano had released a statement saying this is just a complete lie.
“There’s no way Kwankwaso could have bought 69 forms from the PRP in Kano. We don’t sell forms in Kano. We sell forms from Abuja.
“The man who claimed that 69 forms were sold to Kwankwaso is not known to the party. He holds no position, has no authority to sell nomination forms on behalf of the party, and we do not recognise him.
“It is possible that this entire thing has been contrived as part of some problems or some politics in Kano. As far as the PRP is concerned, we sold forms to everybody else from Abuja.
“We sold forms to candidates from Kano. They registered, they contested, they went through primaries more than a month ago.”

Taraba: APC chieftains warn against move to overturn ruling party’s primary results
The All Progressives Congress, APC, stakeholders in the Taraba State North Senatorial District have warned against a move to overturn the results of the senatorial primary result.
Stakeholders in the ruling party, Abubakar Umar Ibrahim and Bilal Galadima, gave the warning in a press release on Monday.
Recall that APC had conducted its primary on May 19th, 2026.
The results from the primary were greeted with controversy as Kabir Bello and Senator Isa Lau laid claim to victory.
However, the APC national body is yet to declare the actual winner of the senatorial poll.
But in a fresh concern directed at party leaders, Ibrahim and Galadima insisted that the ruling party must respect the will of the people and declare the true winner.
“It has come to our attention that certain individuals within the party are allegedly orchestrating clandestine moves to undermine and overturn the credible outcome of the Taraba North primary.
“Any attempt to alter, manipulate, or subvert this duly declared mandate will not only violate party rules but will also erode public confidence in our democratic process,” they stated.
