Tottenham Offered Chance to Hijack Deal For ‘Sensational’ Attacker
Cody Gakpo isn’t the only attacker reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur‘s radar as they could swoop for one of Europe’s most highly-coveted youngsters.
The North Londoners have looked to put last season’s relegation battle firmly behind them by spending big this summer. They have spent £100 million on Sandro Tonali, £85 million on Mateus Fernandes and £52 million on Jan Paul van Hecke.
Spurs aren’t stopping there and have now reportedly set their sights on Gakpo. The Liverpool star joins Manchester City’s Savinho on De Zerbi’s shortlist, but they are also keeping an eye on developments regarding Paris Saint-Germain’s pursuit of Mika Godts.
Tottenham Stay Informed on PSG Godts Pursuit
A report from TEAMtalk claims that Spurs are one of four Premier League clubs being informed of Godts’ situation. PSG are stepping up their interest in the exciting Belgian winger who looks increasingly likely to leave Ajax.
The Ligue 1 giants have pivoted to Godts after missing out on RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, who is set to join Real Madrid. While the 21-year-old is open to joining Luis Enrique’s European champions, his entourage have been in contact with the Lilywhites “throughout the summer.”
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have similarly been keeping up to date with his potential move to Paris. With a deal yet to be agreed between PSG and Ajax, there is a possibility that De Zerbi’s transfer chiefs pounce.
Godts, dubbed “sensational”, is a huge prospect having stepped up from the Dutch club’s esteemed academy in 2024. He has caught the attention of Europe’s big guns following a season in which he scored 17 goals and provided 15 assists in 44 games across competitions.

Godts Could Be Tottenham’s Eden Hazard
Ajax are believed to be demanding around £51 million for Godts, who has three years left on his contract. If Spurs were to try to hijack PSG’s move for the attacking gem, they would be forking out another hefty fee.
Godts’ profile could suit De Zerbi’s system, a right-footed left-winger with explosive pace and a high footballing IQ. The left wing was an issue for the North London outfit last season amid an injury crisis.
The Belgian is tipped to become the heir to Eden Hazard, and that speaks volumes of his talent and potential. It does feel as though PSG are in control of the situation, but if there is an opening, he’d be another stellar signing for the Lilywhites.

Juventus Want to Sign Tottenham Star Guglielmo Vicario
Juventus have made Tottenham Hotspur star Guglielmo Vicario a concrete target for the summer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian star has lost his place as the number one goalkeeper at the club, with Antonin Kinsky deemed a better fit for Roberto De Zerbi’s squad after his excellent performances during the run-in last season, when Vicario was dealing with a hernia problem.
Kinsky has since signed a new contract and will be the starter, and Vicario is expected to leave after being left out of the club’s pre-season squad for their tour of New Zealand. Now a potential destination has emerged.
Juventus Make Vicario ‘Concrete’ Target
Vicario, who has been described as ‘unbelievable’, made the move to north London in 2023 and has made 117 appearances for the club in that time, including starting the Europa League final win over Manchester United.
But the Italy international has never quite convinced as a top-level goalkeeper in the Premier League, and he is now ready to make his move away from England by returning to his homeland.
A number of clubs, including Inter Milan have previously shown an interest, but speaking in his latest YouTube video, Romano has revealed that it’s Juventus who are now the club at the front of the queue for his signature.
“Now Vicario is a concrete option for Juventus from Tottenham, where he is not going to stay at the club,” he said.
Juventus had previously been showing a strong interest in Argentina and Aston Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez, but a deal has proven to be too expensive for them to complete, and that move has now collapsed.
Vicario has now emerged as a prime alternative, and all parties are working towards finding an agreement to get a deal over the line.

Vicario Has No Spurs Future
Tottenham have done really well in the transfer market so far with their arrivals, but they’ve also been smart by replacing their deadwood before they’ve let them go.
Cristian Romero is expected to be on the move, but the club have already brought in Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke to replace him, while questions over the future of Djed Spence are offset by the arrival of Andy Robertson.
With Kinsky promoted to number one, and Martin Dubravka brought in to compete with him, Spurs have already confirmed that Vicario has no future in north London, and this should be a deal that gets completed relatively simply once a fee is agreed.

Details of Mauricio Pochettino’s Record-Breaking USMNT Contract
The full details of Mauricio Pochettino’s new contract as USMNT boss have now emerged, with the former Tottenham and Chelsea head coach staying on after leading the Stars and Stripes at the 2026 World Cup.
USMNT won their opening two games of this summer’s tournament, which they co-hosted alongside Mexico and Canada. Back-to-back victories over Paraguay and Australia were something they had only achieved once before, at the inaugural 1930 World Cup, and football fever quickly swept across the nation as fans began to dream.
But their fairytale run came crashing back down to earth in the Round of 16, where a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Belgium burst the bubble in brutal fashion.
To add insult to injury, their elimination came in the same week it emerged that Donald Trump had personally tapped up Gianni Infantino in an attempt to have Folarin Balogun’s red card overturned for the tie.
Mauricio Pochettino Signs New USMNT Contract
Political interference and widespread backlash towards certain players – most notably Christian Pulisic – delayed any plans Pochettino’s bosses had to renew his deal.
It had been reported that an extension to his current terms was already being drawn up before this summer’s tournament, and the fallout from an otherwise promising campaign should not overshadow the commendable job he has done at the helm of a nation not traditionally known for its football.

While his predecessors struggled to take the USA beyond qualification, ‘Poch’s’ charisma and tournament know-how proved to be a breath of fresh air. He also guided the USMNT to their first World Cup knockout victory since 2002 with their win over Bosnia-Herzegovina in the new Round of 32.
On top of that, he broke US records for the most World Cup wins (three) and the most goals scored (11) by a national team manager. It felt as though his footballing identity had truly rubbed off on the side throughout June and July, and with a new deal now agreed, his reign should still be only just getting started.
Full Details Of His Staggering New Deal
As per ESPN, Mauricio Pochettino signed a two-year contract and will receive $6 million a year (roughly £4.4 million). He’s the highest-paid USMNT coach ever as a result and, in comparison, Gregg Berhalter earned $2.3 million in 2022 including World Cup bonuses.
Pochettino’s new deal runs through the 2030 World Cup, meaning he will also take charge of the 2028 Copa America. Long-time assistants Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Toni Jimenez, as well as more recent additions Sebastian Pochettino and Silvia Tuya, will remain on his staff list.

Liverpool Interested in Galatasaray Full-back Wilfried Singo
Liverpool are one of the sides showing an interest in signing a new full-back during the summer transfer window.
It’s been a fairly slow start to the summer transfer window for Liverpool, who have confirmed just one new addition so far.
Jeremy Jacquet did arrive from Stade Rennes this summer, but that deal was pre-agreed previously.
This summer, Liverpool have signed Victor Munoz from Osasuna, activating the Spanish winger’s release clause.
Outside of that, we’ve seen minimal business from the Merseyside club, who undoubtedly need reinforcements to help Andoni Iraola implement his style.
The former Bournemouth manager arrived this summer to replace Arnaud Slot, and there’s every chance he would have been hoping to see more incomings at this point in the window.
Liverpool eyeing full-back
According to a report from Football Muse, Liverpool are one of the sides showing an interest in signing Galatasaray full-back Wilfried Singo.
It’s claimed that the Ivorian defender has an agreement with Galatasaray that he will be allowed to leave if a club meets his £35 million asking price.
Liverpool are among a number of clubs who are showing an interest in signing Singo, who has turned down an approach from Inter in order to pursue a Premier League move.
Galatasaray are fully supporting his ambitions to play in the Premier League, as long as an interested party meets the asking price.
Singo, described as a freak athlete by Como scout Ben Mattinson, could be a smart pick-up for many clubs at £35 million.

Liverpool prioritising forward move
Alongside a possible move to sign a full-back, Liverpool are prioritising bringing in a new forward during the summer transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool are working on a deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola.
It’s claimed that PSG have been demanding in the region of €170 million for the French international, and Liverpool are trying to agree a deal for a lesser fee.
It remains to be seen whether PSG and Liverpool can come to a mutual agreement, but the Reds are working on trying to secure his signature.
