Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential and vice presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have met with the party’s national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson amid the crisis rocking the OK Movement.
DAILY POST reports that OK Movement, a coalition of the Kwankwassiyya and Obidient Movement, was recently plunged into serious leadership crisis with factions emerging.
Members of the movement and supporters of the Obi and Kwankwaso ticket have been worried over the situation as the 2027 general elections draw near.
Senator Dickson in a post on his official Facebook page, confirmed the meeting with Obi and Kwankwaso in his Abuja residence.
According to him, the meeting focused on “positive state of affairs of our party and to prepare for the forthcoming campaigns, which are expected to commence later this month”.
In the post, the NDC leader called on “all members, supporters and stakeholders of our great party to unite, remain steadfast and work together for victory for all candidates of our party”.

Makinde would have sold Nigeria if elected president – APC
Oyo State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has alleged that Governor Seyi Makinde of the State would have sold Nigeria and other national assets if he were to be in the present condition of President Bola Tinubu.
APC while comparing Makinde with Tinubu, noted that the difference between the duo is like the difference between the heaven and the earth.
APC made the allegation while responding to a recent remark made by the governor on Tinubu’s economic policies.
Makinde, who spoke, through a representative, on Monday during the unveiling of Ogun state candidates of Allied People’s Movement, APM, ahead of the 2027 general elections in Abeokuta, had expressed his readiness to defeat Tinubu in 2027.
But, the APC while reacting, disclosed that Nigeria was lucky not to have elected somebody like Makinde in 2023.
In a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Wasiu Sadare, he explained that no amount of criticisms will make Nigerians to choose someone like Makinde whom he said has failed the people of the State.
He alleged that Makinde has transferred all assets of the State to the wrong hands in exchange for cash in seven years.
“Gov. Makinde can afford to condemn the bold and courageous steps taken by President Bola Tinubu in 2023 as he is wont to playing to the gallery but all the informed minds and reputable global institutions cannot be wrong in their overwhelming applause to the President who has not only saved Nigeria from imminent collapse and extinction but also working tirelessly to place the country in its rightful place among the comity of nations.
“A Makinde who has transferred virtually all the assets of Oyo state to the wrong hands in exchange for cash in seven years would have sold Rivers Niger and Benue as well as the nation’s portion of the Atlantic Ocean if he had the opportunity. To this end, Nigerians will never make the mistake of trusting him with their mandate,” he alleged.

I’ll resign from APC if Tinubu disrespects opposition, Catholic church – Orji Uzor Kalu
Abia North Senator, Orji Uzor Kalu, has vowed to resign from the All Progressives Congress, APC, if President Bola Tinubu disrespect the opposition and the Catholic church.
Kalu, however, said Nigerians should not expect Tinubu to lay red carpet for the opposition in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 elections.
The former Abia State governor spoke while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
He said: “Will you just lay red carpet for the opposition to come and be dancing around if you are a politician?
“Tinubu is fair to them, he has not touched any of them unknowingly.
“The law of the land is very straightforward and if you respect the law of the land you will be well in the country.
“What he said is that he can’t give the opposition red carpet. If I’m your enemy will you give me a red carpet? If I’m fighting with you, will you give me red carpet?
“I’m a very fair minded man who speaks the truth, if I heard what he said that we are going to have a fair contest and he won’t touch anybody.
“Any day Tinubu disrespect the opposition or Catholic church I will resign from the APC.”
