He said the rally, which was attended by the Senate President, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Deputy Senate President, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and several APC governors, demonstrated the party’s strength and popularity in the state.

According to him, the massive turnout of supporters across Osun showed that the people were ready for “a new chapter of progress, prosperity and purposeful governance.”

He said the APC’s return to power in Osun would enable the state to work more closely with the Tinubu administration and attract greater federal attention and development opportunities.

Nentawe added that an APC government in the state would position Osun to benefit fully from the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope agenda.

“Today’s rally has reaffirmed my conviction that the people of Osun are hopeful, determined and ready for change. They believe, as we do, that the future of Osun is brighter with the APC in government.

“This Saturday, let us translate this massive enthusiasm into votes and make history together. Osun is ready. APC is ready. Victory is sure!, ” Nentawe said.

He said the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, had resolved to support the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO, in the August 15 election.

“As Chairman of the Accord and with all our National Working Committee members here present, we withdraw our support for Governor Ademola Adeleke and support AMBO,” Imumolen said.

He urged members and supporters of Accord across Osun State to vote for Oyebamiji and the APC during Saturday’s poll.

“All our members are enjoined to vote for AMBO and the APC in Saturday’s election,” he added.

The endorsement came a day after the Accord suspended its mega rally scheduled for Wednesday, August 12, amid an internal crisis within the party.

Imumolen said the decision to back Oyebamiji followed the party’s inability to mobilise its members for the planned mega rally.

Speaking at the APC rally, Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodinma, said the APC was on the verge of victory and urged Osun residents to support the party’s candidate.

“Vote AMBO, vote prosperity, vote Osun for the state to be prosperous. We the 31 state governors are in the state in solidarity and to welcome the state to the fold of the progressives,” Uzodinma said.

Oyebamiji pledged to run a people-oriented administration focused on good governance and improving the welfare of residents if elected on August 15.

“Our government that will be elected on August 15, 2026, will be a government of the people, and we will stand on your mandate. No dance anymore, but strict governance. I have the mandate to touch the lives of the people of Osun,” he said.

The APC leader in Osun State and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, also urged voters to support Oyebamiji, describing him as a tested and trusted candidate.

“Let’s support Oyebamiji. His track record is there compared to how other candidates have fared,” Oyetola said.

This came as the APC is currently holding a mega rally in Osogbo, the state capital, in support of its candidate, only days to the state governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.

At the rally, Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, said Osun State deserves the very best, stressing that the very best is what the APC has offered in the candidacy of Oyebamiji.

“Let’s be clear, we are a party of peace, which is why we are called progressive. The only ink we need is the black ink for you to put your thumbprint on, not anybody’s blood,” he said.

Similarly, Senate President Godswill Akpabio charged Oyebamiji to transform the state when eventually elected governor.

He said, “You must transform Osun State. As soon as you are elected on Saturday, once you are sworn in, you must begin the progressive movement.

“You must show the people that what they need is dividends of democracy; they don’t need social media.”
