Osun Guber: Osun IPAC rejects use of uncustomised INEC ballot papers

The Osun State chapter of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has rejected the proposed use of uncustomised ballot papers and result sheets for the August 15, 2026, governorship election.

The council, which comprises registered political parties in the state, said the use of such electoral materials could undermine confidence in the electoral process.

The Nigeria Police, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP, Anietie Okokon Iniedu has disclosed that quasi security agencies will not partake in election security duties during Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.

CSP Iniedu made this known during a stakeholders engagement meeting at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo on Thursday.

Thirty three chairmanship and 351 councillorship candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, have dragged the political party before a Federal High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, ahead of the forthcoming local government election in the state.

The APM candidates dragged the party to the court over alleged plans to conduct fresh primary ahead of the election.

The presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, Seyi Makinde, has unveiled former Director-General of the Department of State Services, DSS, Lawal Musa Daura, as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election.

Makinde announced this on Thursday at the elective National Convention of the party in Bauchi.
